This is the real issue. Not someone who is doing no harm exploring space they have every right to be in and using a cloaking module to keep them safe from your evil intentions. What you like to call "AFK CLOAKING".
The reality is it is actually more correctly called REMOTE PEBCAK CLOAKING, because the issue you are crying about so loudly and so frequently is your self imposing anticipation of what that person is doing. ~~~

I wish I could cloak the NEX store so CCP and players couldn't find it. Then we could concentrate on AFK cloakers.

Oh Im going to sound like a noob now but what exactly does AFK cloaking entail. With all the nerd rage about it, you have peeked my curiousity.

It's a name given to neutrals/reds in 0.0 that won't leave system when a carebear wants to go PVE but can't because he isn't blue to everybody and therefore blames the neutral for having an unfair advantage. ~~~

I know you are trolling and only doing this to get some angry bitter reply from someone, but maybe there will be people who actually genuinely don't know, so here it goes anyway.
AFK cloaking usually means moving into an active PvE system filled with hostiles in a Stealth Bomber or a T3 and cloaking up. The player then goes AFK, makes a cup of tea, some dinner, settles down to watch a good film, and checks EVE every half an hour or so. If the scanner/prober doesn't show any weak ratters in space, he goes back to AFK. If it does show something, he goes and pops the ratter, cloaks up again, and goes back to AFK. Rinse and repeat.
It's basically complete immunity from danger while having tremendous advantages and having the luxury of deciding who you want to attack where, when and at what range, and even though you can stay pretty safe by ratting in groups, a lot of people think it's slightly too bonkers on the whole 'risk vs reward' spectrum and I cannot honestly blame them.

An AFK Cloaker is an incredibly scary monster used to teach bad little children to stay in schools and don't do drugs.

Ok Im not a troll, I hate that this community is so bloody sensitive.
Ok more noobish questions which Im emberassed to ask since I have been playing for six years. But aren't you able to use combat probes to scan out a potential cloak ship? Or are cloaked ships not scannable?

Ok so one more question.
How does a single lone wolf cloaker pop anything? I mean strictly speaking I can't think of anything I fly a lone wolf cloaker could actually threaten. How exactly are these guys getting enough DPS to get through a PvE ship or ratting ship designed specifically for tanking damage (which I'm assuming is still the standard setup for PvE ships).?

Well thats what I mean though. If we are talking about an operation where the stealth ship is using team mates to find and kill people in null and low sec.. I mean, isn't that why we have null and low sec, so that people can do exactly those types of things. The stealth ships primary purpose is .. stealth, a stealth pilots job is in fact to be the lead in many types of ops from theft ops, scouting ops, leads for suprise attacks etc... I still don't see where the "unfair advantage" comes into play here. As a lone stealth pilot you really are kind of useless for anything but observation.. with teamates.. ya of course they are an awsome way to set traps etc..

Botters absolutely hate afk cloakers.
Go figure about the rage they cause.
I mean how would you feel if you came home after a long days work to find your bot didn't get you any isk at all because it was permanently logged out due to an afk cloaker?
Think of the botters..

It's called being proactive instead of docking up and whining in forums. Surely an alliance the size of Atlas can organize the baiting and killing of a lone cloaker even if he has a cyno.

They don't want to do that. They want to keep the bots active and rolling in the isk.
Afk cloakers totally ruin this so its far far easier to whinge on the forums and hope ccp nerfs cloaking.

err yes. fly a tank ship around wait for him to turn up kill or be killed, if he lights the cyno counter drop them with your super caps/carriers/sub cap ..ohh sorry your atlas you don't have any. God mate you such a nub it's ridiculous, you spout the usual rubbish that you hear from all the whiners without actually trying anything or thinking you such a leet player just thinking about things is enough.

Ironically, I've made billions off of cloaking. But I'd be lying if I said it took effort or was challenging in any real way (like anything involving cloaking). |

I made tens and tens of billions off farming fw missions in a stealth bomber.
I bet my way was more challenging than setting a bot loose in nullsec farming rats.
