Dear CCP, can you provide us with the percentage of active players (been online in the last month) that have CQ enabled vs disabled. It would be interesting to see how well it's taken off.
Thanks!

As long as it is a number greater than zero, somebody somewhere at CCP is declaring victory and talking **** up to everybody else about how great they are. |

I have it turned on ^^ You know, I bought a gaming computer this year, to play iRacing (a racing sim) with all graphics on, and a triple monitor setup ;)
So, yes, with this config I can run CQ. And I came back to eve after a few years off just because of that ;) I like the fact being able to walk in my quarters, even if I do not do that often. But that and the new character personalization system, and the possibility to change our display picture, change clothes, hairs, things like that... I really like that :)
Now what I wait is the possibility to really socialize in the stations with a real walk in station feature ;) When eve meets other mmorpgs ;) eve is the best space mmorpg, with the most possibilities... And now it has even more...
Will I play Dust? I'm quite sure I will ^^

There is no way CCP will release the figures of this, I suspect that less than 10% will have it enabled

I'm enough to disprove this statement. Sorry. Despite running just fine, it serves no game-related function so I too was shown the door.

I have CQ enabled... but not because I want it, I'm just fed up with that bl**dy door.
Now I'm fed up of seeing the back of my character who seems to be constantly scratching his head.
I want my hangar back!

I had it turned on for 30 seconds.
Then I turned it back on to show a friend who had previously played Eve, had read all the CCP hype about CQ and was interested in WiS. He laughed and said 'that's it?'.
Then I turned it off again. |

CCP alt? ;)
And I own a PS3, yes ^^ So I'll play eve online on my gaming PC, and Dust on my PS3... in fact I'm most a PS3 player, I took a gaming PC just for iRacing... and now eve online too ^^

And? Why everything should have a purpose? What is the purpose of fancy graphics? Just to please the eyes. Will you like eve online that much if they change the graphics to 16 colors graphics, or with the graphics we had when we played "elite" on the amiga, for instance?
The only purpose of incarna is to please our eyes, to have a customizable avatar, to prepare for the dust interaction, and to prepare for walk in station. And so, the fancy aspect of incarna is enough for me, I like it. I need fancy graphics ^^

So by that yardstick, you run the game with minimum graphics settings, have the sound turned off and are avidly hoping that CCP are going to release thin clients to the general populace.

More interesting facts would be how many people have cancelled (some of) their alt accounts because unable/unwilling to run as many with the incarna client anymore.
--- This is one of the moments where we look at what CCP does and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change |

Actually, one of, if not the best, space game ever created was and still is TW2002 by EIS Online. It has ANSI graphics should you choose not to disable them for plain text. Now there's a company that to this day hasn't sacrificed gameplay for graphic content. Look what Lucas did to Star Wars adding graphics. :p
It just so happens that I run EVE at 2560x1600 with max settings. But while I do like the direction of WiS (if they don't completely screw it up), CQ isn't WiS and it takes slightly longer to load. Since I dock and undock frequently, there is no point to CQ, and I put gameplay over graphics, I load the door instead.

This is YOUR opinion and I can respect this ;) But as far as I'm concerned, I cannot play a game with poor graphics. I believed I was a nostalgic of old DOS RPG games, so I tried playing one again, but I cannot ^^
To me a game should be able to make me dream of this universe, and this is impossible to me with poor graphics.
This is like saying, for instance, DragonRealms is the best mmorpg ever. This is a MUD, a text based mmorpg. This is perhaps true this is the best mmorpg, but I'm unable to play a text based mmorpg ^^
A good game, to me, should have both a good gameplay and fancy graphics. Dropping one for the other is not good. And I can live with the 3 seconds of station loading when I dock ^^
Saying a game is "the best" is perhaps wrong, as we should say why it is the best. TW2002 is perhaps the most in depth, complex trading space game, but a game is a whole. So I can say eve online is the best as well, if I take the game as a whole, with both graphics and gameplay.
Like I could say Jumpgate was the best, as we were able to really fly our spaceships with a joystick, and it was cool ^^ |

Edited by: Sayuri Kato on 23/08/2011 13:41:40 I have CQs turned on. I like it, it gives EVE much more immersion. Actually I resubed just because of it. However, now I want some gameplay wise sense in it as well!

Of course it is my opinion - all statements are opinions even when they also happen to be fact. Such as 'I think' and 'IMO' are redundant in statements. In fact, your pointing out that it's my opinion is but stating the obvious and is itself merely an opinion that I can respect. ;)
Ahem. Anyway. I won't deny that graphics are good in a game and it's why I continually upgrade my GPU, but graphics need to make the gameplay stronger or more immersive not exist for the sake of existing (Lucas _did_ somewhat hurt Star Wars with the remasters and _did_ destroy Star Wars completely with Ep1-3 which, as far as I'm concerned, don't exist). I loved the Trinity overhaul and I do like CQ but Trinity updated graphics affecting gameplay, and CQ has only given a preview of what may eventually come and a reason to spend money in the NeX. Until WiS comes fully, CQ is eye candy without purpose and should be left like Ep4-6 - ship spinning.

Ahem... I like star wars ep1-3 as well, they are different from 4-6, for sure, but I like them ^^ I don't like the remastered 4-6 version though, especially when they added the Jabba the Hut part with han solo... I think this "cut scene" should have remained cut ;)

I imagine stats say most use it.
It is on by default so a character that has not logged on to turn it off....still has it on.
As for the number of active acounts who have it on?
Well that would be intresting...I turned it off because it heats up my cpu and the fan becomes noisey(really need better cooling.)
