We announced today in this news item that Incarna 1.1 will be deployed during an extended downtime on Tuesday, August 30. While patch notes are going to be published after this coming weekend, we would like to invite as many Mac users as possible to Singularity to test the latest build over this coming weekend.
Full details on how to connect to Singularity can be found in this EVE wiki article and we would encourage you to provide as much feedback as possible in this thread. You can also submit any bugs discovered through our bug reporting system.
Thank you.

I will get on singularity, but it would be VERY VERY VERY VERY helpful if patch notes were put out so at least we know what was changed and focus our efforts on testing those area and make sure nothing crept in.

I loaded the newest singularity update on 2 differrent macs and after the downlaod and restart, the singularity client crashes at the startup screen with the EULA window. I can't do anything after that - the entire computer is crashed and I have to restart. I cannot get to the screen to turn off the Eula. And I can't remove the patch. Please update the patch or revert to the old client so we can use it.

So I manage to install the first patch (not clicking where it says click here for the patch, but instead selecting my client version).
This way my client upgraded from 273475 to 287544.
I though that this was it, I open the client and raises an exception and freezes, second try also raises an exception but don't freeze. After that it says the server version is incompatible, which means I have to download another patch from 287544 to 287990. This is fine if it is explained either in the wiki or the patch page...
Again run, again raises exception and again freezes. Let's do the second try (it looks like those clients don't like to started in the first tries), the same happens and in the third try and so on.
That's explain the absence of patch notes. What CCP wants us to test is just if the new client runs or not, which, in my case is a resounding no.

Been trying for many hours yesterday to get Singularity to work. I've had no unsolvable problems with it till yesterdays new build. Nothing seems to work, not auto patching (always exception at login), not manual patching (complains I have wrong build) not downloading a fresh install and trying to apply TQ to SiSi patch . BTW the recommeded tq to sisi patch link does not seem to be correct http://content.eveonline.com/test/mac/evepremiumpatch273475-287990_test-mac.tgz Stuffit Expander extracts it to evepremiumpatch273475-287990_test-mac.tgz.cpgz Any other advice how to get this one going?

OK, simple version
Click on EvE Online program Press CMD-D (Should duplicate eve online app, making one called "Eve Online copy" download http://content.eveonline.com/test/mac/evepremiumpatch273475-287990-mac.tgz Run that downloaded program and select your "EvE Online" client Rename EvE Online to "EvE Online SiSi" or some other name Rename "EvE Online copy" back to "EvE Online" Run the "EvE Online SiSi" client - if it doesn't connect to Sing server do second part below
Browse to ~/Library/Preferences/EVE Duality/ in Finder (~ represents your current users home) Open the config file At the end of this file add this: [AppDefaults\\EVE.exe\\transgaming] "cmdlineadd" = "/server:87.237.38.60"
OK, so it isn't **That** simple, but I think it is easier than following their instructions
Personally, I install sisi on my main install, then rename it and restore my main client from time machine....very simple, but if you aren't running time machine, it won't work.

Since I don't like to give up I tried your instructions to see if I have better luck.
First of all good that I could do the straight upgrade from 273475 to 287990. Certainly the problem was that the guy that replaced the patch in the server "forgot" to update the link in the web page.
Unfortunately the exception continued upon game start and after answering that I don't want to debug the code the game froze.
In any case I realized that the game was not trying to connect to the server address you specified as been Singularity and then I tried to change it. However you say I should change in the Eve Duality folder and I don't have this folder (you never installed Duality on my Mac).
I had a Eve Online and Eve Singularity folder under preferences.
I checked the Eve Singularity preferences and they do point to the right server, although my new patched client is not using this preference folder. |

While patch notes are going to be published after this coming weekend, we would like to invite as many Mac users as possible to Singularity to test the latest build over this coming weekend.
I'm having the same issue as Shantheor, the test client blacks out at the EULA screen (before I'm able to do anything) and then forces me to restart the system (or wait for OSx to cry uncle and crash).
And I am posting a bug report. |

Edited by: Avui on 27/08/2011 15:10:21 For some reason my patched client is trying to connect to 87.237.32.22 instead of the right IP and both my Eve Online and Eve Singularity preferences folders point to the right address.
This means that this preferences folders are not the only place where you store the server IP...
@Atze, you can close the client with cmd+alt+esc without restarting the Mac |

Hurrah
Although CCP documentation was wrong, the patch file link was incorrect, and the process didn't work I manage to connect to the Singularity server.
How that miracle happened? First thanks to Gunther message I started to look to solve the issue without following CCP instructions. Then I found out 2 mistakes on Gunther message that, once replaced make the installation possible.
Therefore the steps I followed were (basically cut&pasted and corrected from Gunther):
1) Right click on EvE Online program and select Duplicate 2) download http://content.eveonline.com/test/mac/evepremiumpatch273475-287990-mac.tgz 3) Unzip the patch 4) Run that downloaded program and select your "EvE Online Copy" client 5) Right click on Eve Online Copy and select show package 6) Open the info.plist with Text Edit and change the name on the CFBundleName from Eve Online to Eve SiSi 7) Browse to ~/Library/Application Support/Preferences/EVE SiSi/ in Finder (~ represents your current users home) 8) Open the config file with Text Edit and add the following lines at the end of this file: [AppDefaults\\EVE.exe\\transgaming] "cmdlineadd" = "/server:87.237.38.50"
Now CCP, considering you said "we would like to invite as many Mac users as possible to Singularity to test the latest build over this coming weekend", how possibly do you expect that non IT professional Mac user figure out those steps???

Sorry, the ONLY part I didn't type and i copy/pasted were the problem, I have corrected my original post as well as someone else corrected it for me.

The biggest thing to all this is you have to start the client once to make the prefs folder. You might have run sisi since the incarna pref change patch, but i would venture most haven't and during that start weird things may happen and it may a LONG time to start because it is writing a ton of prefs, please let it finish, then add those 2 libes to the bottom of the config file.
I can't stress enough the utility of "Textwrangler" it is an awesome program and worth the money, although the built in texteditor works. Don't use word or pages opr a regular word processor when editing config files or info.plist files.

TextEdit just works fine.

Well this worked for me:
1. Download patch and install using Eve Client 2. Some files have changed!! No sh!t they are the user settings!! 3. Run the Eve Repair Tool (DO NOT DISCONTINUE!! IT FREAKING WORKS WHENEVER THE UPDATE IT FAIL!!!) 4. Reinstall the patch 5. No longer get told you have an incompatible version and a patch is available?!? 6. Oh right. It never works the first time. There is always the patch patch... 7. Log in
