So I manage to install the first patch (not clicking where it says click here for the patch, but instead selecting my client version).
This way my client upgraded from 273475 to 287544.
I though that this was it, I open the client and raises an exception and freezes, second try also raises an exception but don't freeze. After that it says the server version is incompatible, which means I have to download another patch from 287544 to 287990. This is fine if it is explained either in the wiki or the patch page...
Again run, again raises exception and again freezes. Let's do the second try (it looks like those clients don't like to started in the first tries), the same happens and in the third try and so on.
That's explain the absence of patch notes. What CCP wants us to test is just if the new client runs or not, which, in my case is a resounding no.

Since I don't like to give up I tried your instructions to see if I have better luck.
First of all good that I could do the straight upgrade from 273475 to 287990. Certainly the problem was that the guy that replaced the patch in the server "forgot" to update the link in the web page.
Unfortunately the exception continued upon game start and after answering that I don't want to debug the code the game froze.
In any case I realized that the game was not trying to connect to the server address you specified as been Singularity and then I tried to change it. However you say I should change in the Eve Duality folder and I don't have this folder (you never installed Duality on my Mac).
I had a Eve Online and Eve Singularity folder under preferences.
I checked the Eve Singularity preferences and they do point to the right server, although my new patched client is not using this preference folder. |

Edited by: Avui on 27/08/2011 15:10:21 For some reason my patched client is trying to connect to 87.237.32.22 instead of the right IP and both my Eve Online and Eve Singularity preferences folders point to the right address.
This means that this preferences folders are not the only place where you store the server IP...
@Atze, you can close the client with cmd+alt+esc without restarting the Mac |

Hurrah
Although CCP documentation was wrong, the patch file link was incorrect, and the process didn't work I manage to connect to the Singularity server.
How that miracle happened? First thanks to Gunther message I started to look to solve the issue without following CCP instructions. Then I found out 2 mistakes on Gunther message that, once replaced make the installation possible.
Therefore the steps I followed were (basically cut&pasted and corrected from Gunther):
1) Right click on EvE Online program and select Duplicate 2) download http://content.eveonline.com/test/mac/evepremiumpatch273475-287990-mac.tgz 3) Unzip the patch 4) Run that downloaded program and select your "EvE Online Copy" client 5) Right click on Eve Online Copy and select show package 6) Open the info.plist with Text Edit and change the name on the CFBundleName from Eve Online to Eve SiSi 7) Browse to ~/Library/Application Support/Preferences/EVE SiSi/ in Finder (~ represents your current users home) 8) Open the config file with Text Edit and add the following lines at the end of this file: [AppDefaults\\EVE.exe\\transgaming] "cmdlineadd" = "/server:87.237.38.50"
Now CCP, considering you said "we would like to invite as many Mac users as possible to Singularity to test the latest build over this coming weekend", how possibly do you expect that non IT professional Mac user figure out those steps???
