My guess. Incarna 1.2 is going to be dedicated to breaking the text editor (again). I mean, weeks when you couldn't even write a proper Evemail or hyperlink without screwups. Still mystified how CCP managed to **** up a text editor, but recently CCP could **** up a wet dream.

Things we have learned? Hmmmmm?
Back CCP in a corner, they run like hell, and never look back.
"Off to vampire land, leaving the Eve comunity behind" I think was the title of the most recent memo.

Quote: Merit driven items are locked from purchase until a player achieves a certain criteria [in game] hence having to earn the item/power and then having to pay real money to obtain it
very specific part of the idea for the vampire game that I want to point out and everyone should point out to anyone that will listen as to why NOT to play that game
Imagine having to buy skillbooks with real money but you still need to skill up to get them. Or doing something to unlock a power in a game, go to a trainer to skill it and the trainer says you gotta pay in REAL DOLLARS
And SOMEHOW CCP thinks this bull**** will work
Pride cometh before a fall CCP

The whole idea of WiS is great. But CCP made a big mistake, that they released it totaly unfinished. If they had released full incarna, that means, wis in lobby, player interaction etc, the whole comunity would be happy. But as long as incarna is only about useless wis in your CQ people will be angry. So suggestion to CCP. Try to release full version of your future releases, not just part of it.

EVE is still the best game in it's field and CCP knows it does not need to keep innovating to maintain that because lets face it - there is very little if any competition for the niche that EVE currently fills.
I still enjoy EVE therefore I still play - to me it really is that simple. The day when I will no longer enjoy what EVE has to offer I will stop playing (regardless of time and effort spent in here - that's like throwing good money after bad.)
Pretty much on maintenance mode - yes, and the dumbing down of the game is definitely irritating but so far not terribly bad.
It's telling though that the last time I was excited about an expansion was when the Noctis came out - lots of opportunities there.
Anyhow I'll be around probably for at least a year more unless something game breaking really happens - and most of the players I know are in a similar position.
Perhaps what CCP doesn't realise is that if they do improve their game at its core, they will improve their bottom line. There is a return on investment to be had there.

The only voice CCP listens to is subscriber numbers, as has been stated many times. So all my account bar this one have been unsubscribed.
CCP lies? Not so sure that statement hangs true. Misleading, below expectations, setting new standards of underachievement... perhaps.
CSM is irrelevant. Its a PR stunt, and serves no real world purpose other than to deflect issues.
CCP is low on resources? Published company data suggests otherwise. What may be a better description is that the finite resource available is not being invested into Eve as per subscriber expectations.
CCP gets away with it due to lack of competition? It's been that way since the beginning and does not look like changing any time soon.
What do I know? Well, I am just one subscriber with an opinion. I have played since beta, and enjoyed the game through much of its development. Probably the last great expansion was Dominion. The current state of the game is such that I have no interest in investing further time in playing it. Little has been done to address the numerous balance issues. I certainly could not recommend this game to a friend.
The biggest change for me is the atmosphere of the game, actively promoted by CCP. For the first couple of years it was about forging new relationships, building alliances, and exploring. Co-operation was encouraged, and players that I interacted would go to great lengths to help you. Then the PVP aspect was pressed by CCP, and all the negative traits of humanity were encouraged as the way to play EVE. Sacmming, theft, betrayal, dishonesty, all became the traits CCP wanted players to aspire to to succeed in Eve. There should be no surprise then that the community has developed around this philosophy, and they find themselves reaping what they sow, in terms of interaction, and the type of player they attract.
EVE is no longer a place I wish to spend my time as a result of CCP's vision. The only way to make myself heard is to act in the only way CCP is now prepared to listen... subscription cancelled. Desperately seeking originality since the first "can I have your stuff" since 2003. |

If CCP actually did listen to the players then the original functioning icons would have returned.
I don't think i have come across one person who said that the new 'black on black' icons were an improvement. On the contrary anyone who has voiced an opinion all have said (that I have noticed) bring back the icons.
If CCP can't or won't even do this simple task for the player community then what more proof do we need that CCP don't care about EVE.
As for the lies accusation; well, I have posted on here promises from CCP that the icons will be returnd. A number of patches/updates later and they haven't returned.
Yes, CCP have given us one improvement with this latest patch/update - the chaning of ship session timer. We've even had an employee on this thread saying how wonderful it was. Excellent; but what about the same employee addressing the other issues with the game which have been raised time and time again and each time ignored by CCP?

I think CCP has dug too deep of a hole to do that. But hopefully you are right.

Im not so certain about even that... Im starting to think they dont care who leaves, so when all the "whiners" are gone, they can put in all the pay to win stuff that they want and rake it in with a fresh new subscriber base. ------------------------------------ "You know, my foot oughta vandilize your ass" |
