That's something you did for the stupids, so you can distract them. They will think "oh cool, look what ccp did for us, love love love"
Well, it's nice, but there are more important things to do right now. First of all is the damn CQ: you ruined my gaming experience by removing the old ship spinning hangar. I'm not an idiot, i know you could have kept both and let the people choose wich one to load but your greed makes you ignore us.
You promised somethin... "better" than the old ship hangar, well, where is it?! And why can't you give us the old one in the meanwhile?? I'm looking at a damn ugly wallpaper with a stupid door on it since Incarna came out. I'm not going to buy stuff from the nex store, ever, period, no matter what you do.

Which perhaps is the very reason you log on everday and play yeah?
As much as Eve is a GAME, playing it is OPTIONAL.
Hmm. Staying married to your wife is optional. Paying your taxes is optional. Not killing your boss cause you hate his guts is optional.
And yet all of these actions have consequences.
The fact is that CCP is a business and not a government. Meaning that they can do whatever they want with their product (which they do). But they can't make you play the game. Hmm there is something seriously wrong with that philosophy. If I was them (being a business) I would be worried about losing my job cause my company doesn't make money anymore. Yes they are a business that can do whatever they want. But they are a business. Meaning they have to sell their product, which, lets be honest, they are doing a horrible job of.

Well I have learned much since this expansion. The patch's continue and responses to our concerns keep getting addressed. A recent petitions response was very high caliber compared to a similar one in the past. Overall I'm learning that CCP is not the enemy that I was led to believe.
I have learned that "led to believe" is not often done in benevolence though it can be. I have learned that the same psychologies that can benefit people can also be used to hurt them.
I am coming to believe that more than just CCP was hurt We participants in the riots and protests have endured an attack on our ego, psyches. We have acted against our own best interests and tried to destroy our worlds however imaginary and utopian they might have been. :) We won't ever be quite the same again, and that's alright.
I have learned of soldiers becoming participants in massacres and then leading others to participate with them. Innocent children one day, rapist and disembowelers the next. And in some wars it just keeps continuing. And we we have to continue and we have to continue to believe CCP is the enemy, that it was CCP that drove us to madness and mayhem. And they have to be the Demons that they have been painted as or we have to admit we were scammed, hacked and manipulated into giving up what we love and have worked so hard for, for so cheap a price.
I have learned that people that are stripped of hope and demoralized by others to serve these other people's ends can unite into community. Why the real enemy continue to reinforce the exodus is that the alternative is unity. Crowds have different motivators than individuals and the real enemies have tugged on a very dangerous one and wishes we would leave before we wake up. Long has the enemy reaped the rewards of sowing distrust and it's resulting fragmentation. Now they try to make guerrilla warfare like attacks on hope.
But I have learned that there is an antidote to the extinguishing of hope and it is two fold. First know that it was taken from you and open your mind to the slightest thought that it was not taken by CCP or ourselves. Next is another concept that goes against our basic entitlements as customers but hear me out. In some situations we can regain our hope by excelling in something that gives us a sense of mastery. For instance if we get podded. we practice and lose that sense of not being in control. My income got nerfed, I tried incursions etc. But there are things in life that we can never really get control of And CCP is one of those things cause nobody can make everybody happy all the time.
I've learned its alright to lower my expectations. I wanted to create a paradise of my own imagination. The heavens of Eve were a limitless blank slate. I too entrusted CCP but I put them on a pedestal and somebody knocked them off. Now they are where they should be, They aren't perfect but pretty good. They are not Santa Claus coming down the chimney or my jovian god in some isolated bit of heaven ready to grant my wishes. They are real people with limitations, imperfect, not always elite... maybe not even close.
Just like me. :)

They wouldnt be killing the game for 80% of the players for one -------- CCP knows better than the players whats good for their game. SOE knew what was best for SWG too. Better than all those players that left too. |

Half the problem with EVE is the sheer toxicity of some of the members of it's community.
I can post on a forum, therefor a speak for everyone in EVE.
WHere's the evidence from CCP to the contrary? Where is a commitment to launch new content/expansions.etc? without information assumptions can be taken as fact unless refuted by evidence...

Ghoest I like you, I can probably help you. Some people feel better by accepting help from a paid professional rather than advice on the street. I can't check my balance on a toon without a face but if you deposit isk into my account you will feel better.
So what makes you think EVE is no longer in active development? you say the evidence is obvious. We've had a few patches fixing bugs and a hotfix. Seems like there's plenty of activity. I could point to some patch notes as evidence in conflict with your assumption if you asked. Perhaps its development is not meeting your expectations. can you do me a favor and count the issues addressed in incarna and its patches? Its gettin late here so maybe we can pick this up again. I think its information portal that you look for developer blogs.

API upgrades are not going to save your game. INTERNET SPACE SHIP CONTENT, BALANCES, AND FIXES are your only hope. You see there is a problem with your subs and your income, LISTEN TO US, we know what we are talking about, and we pay your salary.

That's obviously a lie, patch notes prove you wrong. CCP and the developers have already stated their goals for the future of EVE.

Originally by: Ghoest -CCP lies even more when players are upset.

Originally by: Ghoest -CCP is low on resources.
Every small developer has limited resources but that doesn't mean they're lacking programmers and artists to continue to develop EVE along with their other titles.
Originally by: Ghoest -CCP continues to get away with this because no one else has a sand box game on the scale of EVE.
No one is forcing you to stay. CCP doesn't have to change their ways in order to satisfy a few people. Simply don't give them money if you're dissatisfied with their product. Just because it's a MMO doesn't mean CCP has to listen to every single customer and satisfy their needs.

LOL that was a SIDE EFFECT from Incarna development, otherwise the ONLY thing in the patch would have been the api keys.

1 The patch shows they arent developing - they are just maintaining. And there no indication they have a real expansion coming beyond the Incarna testbed for WOT.
2&3 Read the recent interviews they are are contradicting what they said in the face of the "revolt" a few months ago.
4 Mittens has admitted this within the last day - in a long winded self aggrandizing manner of course.
5 I addressed this earlier in the thread. Based on the devlopment cut backs they have announced for EVE and open ended postponments of feature its enough that I consider it proof. This one point you could disagree with me on - as as far as evidence goes it agrees with me.
6 This point is really about the players and I believe you are the only person in EVE who doesnt agree with me.

Omg it's Incarna, the mother of all content-rich expansions!
You can now stare at a wallpaper of a door and switch ships without session timer, oh boy did eve suddenly become a much better game.

I just wanted to say that I do not care about OP's concerns.
As long as I can log in and play then that is what is important. Yes this is a community but it is the game that is important not CCP's business practices. They could employ slave labor and force employees to pay $5.00 for soda in the break room. If it does not directly affect game play and they are nowhere near bankruptcy I don't care.
It is what happens in game that is important to me and yes there is disappointment in the last couple of expansions but the game is still playable.
I just wanted to say this because I am sick of all the posts from people that don't work for CCP and think that they know more about running a game company.
This is a link used to prove a point OP, CurvesNotEqual Eve is stagnant not dying. |

Why would working at CCP be required for correct commentary on the state of the game and even primary factors effecting the state of the game?
Now if I was focusing on the most profitable strategies for CCP you would have a point. But as I addressing the quality of the game, youre just doing non sequitur *****ing.
