if i got i right there¦s a patch on singularity (in about 3 weeks on tranq?) implementing small and medium control towers?
is that right? has anybody got some stats on that?

you can check their stats through the market, the small and medium ones didn't have fuel requirements yet as of 30 minutes ago. One noteworthy difference was the CT period length, 1h for large,2 for med,3 for small. If that CT period acts as a multiplier to mining, reacting and refining it means the non-large aren't all that hot for any industrial task. Should work for territory control, I suppose, at least defense batteries will still work.

basically the med one has 50% the cpu and grid of the normal one, and small 25% of the cpu and grid They also have 50/25% of the shield hp's and armour hp's

So if it's good for territorial and defense purposes, can they at least have one moon harvester and a silo running with minimum defenses? -----------------------------------------------

Hi m8s
Can I anchor two Control Tower at one Moon? Can a CT protect the other one?
What is the meaning of the time cycle mentionned in the first posts of this thread?
Thanks

No you cannot have 2 ct's at one mooon
Everything on the pos runs in cycles of 1 hour, fuel, mining, reactions. What they seem to think is that the new ct's fuel cycles will change to 2 hours or even 3

thx guys..
couldnt check into singularity yet, but i guess the CTs need 50%/25% isotopes due to the cpu/power...
too bad they can¦t feed an intense refinery ;)
but nice for sure to get another moon ore for completion of reactions or for territorial purpose..

Yes, the smaller CT's generally consume 50%/25% less fuel too. _____________________________ I say hey sky, s'other say I won say, I pray to J I get the same ol' same ol. |

Are the control tower cycle times fixed now? Ie. they'll increase in same proportion too? If the medium takes twice as long to obtain a cycle of materials, and small one four times it's a pretty harsh hit to their profit potential, mainly in terms of making synchronizing the reactions a regular pain in the arse.

thanks for the Fuel informations Oveur, kepp on the good way.
I think small / medium CT will REALLY change the attract ppl to POS !

If the cycle times are double or triple those of the large tower, these new CT's will be fairly useless for mining. The low maintenance costs should make them ideal for territorial defence though, or possibly laying claim to a paricularly good moon...

If the moon mining array's cycle time powered by a small or medium CT is increased at all, forget it. What's the point? Where's the benefit? I think my annoyance with the implementation of POSs in general is the source of all my anger. We've sunk so much time and effort into these POSs that I'd be ready to sell all the modules off if they were mine. If you wanted to create an "exodus" to 0.0, it's my humble opinion that you've completely missed the mark...you've created an exodus to empire.
The small and medium CT's stats should be the ONLY thing that change, not cycle times or whatever else was talked about. The moon mining arrays should still cycle once an hour, the reactor once an hour, etc.

the main goal i think is to createa a market
samll corp have 1 medium pos : Mine 2 minerais, got 10 simple reaction, one single product.
His goal is NOT to build tech II composant, just sell this product.
Now 2 corps make the same.
SO 1 onother BUY the 2 corp product to build his own tech II composant.
Make small & medium just mean MORE POS so more moon reaction so a market i hope
with small, medium you can make control territory too
so not as bad a you think. Cycle time mean just more POS.

That's nice... but how it's possible to use REACTOR on Medium or Small CT? Will be available smaller versions of reactors (and when)? Or new CT will be not able to make any reactions?
PS: 2850CPU output for medium CT and 2500CPU use for current Reactor...

I absolutly agree that cycle times for mining and all that jazz should not be changed AT ALL! It's just pointless and will take away from the lure of having smaller towers. It's just stupidity to think about increasing cycle times. Who is making these decisions anyways?!?!?

You are right Deadzone... Medium tower - 50% less fuel BUT 50% less moon material too... Plus with small one you can't do any reactions. Seems that CCP don't like small corps at all... All new stuff in game oriented to megacorps only. Sure, when you have 200 members you can run 10 POSes, produce different complex reactions etc... but most, yes most of eve corps - 5-10 members... Why I have ot join mega corp if i want to use POS? And what about single players? For them CCP have only missions? But it's damn borring. Agents have no imagination... they all have about 10 missions, sometimes you even getting same mission 2-3 times one by one... Excuse me, but after Exodus gameplay suxxx. Out of ideas? For what we need all this new stuff without gameplay? In the begining we was customers, now we are just statistic... 11k online 12k online.... I'm also wondering how n00bs can grow in such conditions... I have about 10Mil SP and I can't say that it's easy to survive even if i play 4-5 hours a day. But n00bs... they will give up with eve for sure, no chances for them. Sometimes I think that CCP forgot that EVE it's just a game. It's not right to do REAL world capitalism and globalisation here. Everyone should have real possibility to use ALL stuff, ships etc... otherwise ppl will be borred and quit...
...my 2 cents
PS: sorry for my English...

Hehe nice words BlueStorm ! I think CCP will like them all but if u are boring making missions - join pirate corp and go to 0.0. U can do everything u want in this game so if all is boring for u - just quit and play another games =)

Edited by: Sillente NiKunni on 21/03/2005 08:49:48 you don't see the point :
you are 5-10 did you think you've got the right to build 10POS and control a region in 0.0 and other things that need many ppl ?
actually you are 5-10 you want to build a POS .... 2 Days mining only ice per week with 5-7 medium barges (i suppose not all specialized actually in barge) so it's boring.
After the patch, you know 4-5 friendly corp ( smaller as you) and you build all a medium pos ( 1 days mining per week, can be done) and with you'r friendly POS you can come into Tech II market. Before you can't.
You will not be effective like big corporation in POS market, but you can !!!

No, I see the point... and I'm not going to control regions in 0.0. I just want to have ability for small corps to have fun with all of this new stuff in game without spending 10hours/day in front of computer mining... With current req. we have ot spend more time for eve than for real life. It's damn wrong.

The problem is when your mining ice, your not really playing. It's more akin to being comatose then it is to playing a video game.

Edited by: SC0RPY on 21/03/2005 14:42:43 Dont mine ICE if u dont like it - just buy Isotopes and other stuff. If u have right moon and right corporation, that can buy all your moon materials then u dont need mining ICE.

Any SANE POS owner has already calculated the costs of ice and realizes that even mining it themselves, they are buying it. The difference is that supply is constant when you are mining yourself, as opposed to sporatic when you rely on the current isotope market.
You've got to be out of your flippin mind to rely on a buy order to keep your station up and running. You absolutely need istotopes, miners don't -really- need isk, they want it.
Man, I love you "just buy the ice" people. You do realize that if everyone just purchased their ice, there wouldn't be anyone to mine it right? Even if the majority of POS owners purchased their fuel instead of mining it, prices would skyrocket and kill any margin of profitability in the tech II component market.

Is it just me or are the new towers less efficient than the old ones? you get 25% the CPU and power for 25% the fuel, but the cycle time means it takes 4 times longer on a small tower. wouldn't this make each unit of power and cpu that the small POS puts towards a moon harvester 4 times more expensive than the large POS puts toward that same harvester?
and are they going to fix abundance in this patch? |

You do realise we're talking to the pos OWNERS when we say "buy it", as in, from the MINERS, yes?
