Currently five agents are all researching L4 Caldari Engineering.
On average, without any missions being done they bring in a combined 1400 RP's per day split across the five agents. No BPO's have been offered, absolutely nothing.
I am not greedy and TBH would be delighted with just one, but at what point does this happen?
I think bucket loads of training has been done for nothing.
Can anyone post some serioius expetations on when to hope for an offer (how many points etc)?
I am just wondering a what point should my expetations be reasonable during this god forsaken lottery. |

You are not entitled to a BPO.
You may never even get one

400K in CSE here and no BPO
You don't see me complaining do you
It's a matter of luck. Research only gives you better chances on that "luck".
I simpatize with you so don't see my post as a flame, my fellow researcher. Selling Raven BPC ME20 3M at Yulai 1st Station |

he is correct.
and at that rate, after those 2.3 years you'll be offered the small damage control system mod tech 2.

Why dont they give out BPC's? Mimiru > It'd be a tie, the monkies nerfed pooflinger wouldnt have enough tracking to hit the parrot orbiting him, but the parrot's beak is so small it couldnt break the monkey's fur tanking. |

Well i hate to break it to you but caldari starship engineerig is one of the most over researched fields out there. Its a lottery so you may never win.

I would agree with this. Limited run BPCs that you can trade RP's for would be an excellent idea. I have had a lv3 research agent since they were released over a year ago and have about 90k RPs with him yet not even a sniff of a bpo.
Which is sad as ive seen someone who got a t2 bpo and only had an agent for 2 weeks.

I have over 120k RP's and still haven't had a bean But it's always good to know that there are some people in Eve, who get print drop with as little a 10k RP's

Well this is fantastic news, thanks to everyone for their replies.
I know that I am not expecting something that realistically is not going to happen anytime soon so the logging on and checking Eve-Mail syndrome is better to be run with zero hope (and oneday get lucky) then logging on half hoping for a BPC.
To know that people have way more points then me, I feel for you as with about 50,000 in total myself across all the agents I have nowhere near travelled the roads of disappointment you all have.
Let's hope one day, we're all lucky. :D

HINTS :
It's a lottery... So :
-buy a ticket with each character you can -cross your fingers -wait...and don't expect to win
I've let my agent die, without doing any mission for him. I firstly was offered a small smartbomb II within a few months (I told my agent to stick it in his black hole). I've waited 1 year more and got a Tachyon Beam Laser II...I've sold it. But we produce them anyway if you are interested (check sig)
So...don't expect for a timeframe...Just wait (\_/) (O.o) (> <)=Oveur (proof) "Jumping 50 systems I can like, have sex 150 times during that period" |

Mate of mine got...I forget what...some T-II BPO (shield booster maybe) with ~3,000 RP. Started a new agent, had ~80 RP and got an Interceptor BPO (kidjanot).
Me...1+ years and ~50k with one agent and no BPO.

I should note in my case above there seemed to be a glitch in the BPO handouts that allowed people with a new agent to pull down a BPO almost immediately.
CCP denied anything was wrong but looked at it closely a few times as there were piles of anecdotal evidence to suggest something was wrong. To my knowledge CCP never copped to there ever being a problem in this fashion but the BPO drops to people who had an agent all of a week seemed to stop (or at least diminsh a lot).

I have 6 agents researching Minmatar Starship Engineering for almost a year now, and nothing
Oh and to Discorporation, I understand the odds, what I don't understand is people winning multiple t2 BPOs with the kind of odds they claim exist. I never received a satisfactory explaination for this (and don't say they are really really really lucky - in Vegas they have names for people like that) |

In Vegas you get "politely" asked to leave. If you ignore that polite request things can get rather ugly for you.

I've been researching with a L3 agent since they were released and nada here. So short answer, you wont necissarily get anything.
Almost everyone researches something. and that means you got alot of competition over just a few blueprints that are released. Best way to get them is to buy em. _______________________________________________

I have 10 R&D agents across 2 characters and have received 4 BPOs so far. The first BPO (10mn Afterburner 2) arrived about 4 months into research. The next 3 BPOs (Med Pulse Laser 2, Dual Heavy Beam Laser 2, and Oneiros Support Cruiser) all came within 6 weeks of each other after 10 months of research.
I takes a while, I would suggest NOT to go all Starship research because as a previous poster to this thread said, they are overresearched.
Oh, and by the way, I never visit my agents. I work up standings to get the best L3 agent or a pretty good L4 agent and never visit them unless a breakthrough happens.
There should be a better way, but the lottery is all we have.

It would be nice if the science skills benefited the character in another way other than opening up the option to perform research. This could include, but not be limited to, affecting baseline stats of items manufactured by the character. With the character having knowledge of such areas, it wouldnt be beyond reason to think that they could modify something they create in a similar fashion that other skills work, when the item is in use. Something like this could lead to quasi named items and things that would lie in function somewhere between tech 1 and tech 2. Have the items to be modified to have a set number of skills that can affect them and only allow a limited number of them to alter the properties. So that it wouldnt be just getting more skills to have something better than the next guy, but possibly a little different. For example, with a weapon perhaps be able to adjust its base properties similar to any of the gunnery skills and expand the ammo capacity, but the player could only pick one or two options, depending on the skills available and the amount of benefit gained would be linked directly to the science skill involved.

That would be the Reverse engenering option that has been floating in the background ever since beta.
