Kicking them into a decable and awoxable corp would be a fantastic Christmas gift. Kick them out to where? The NPC corp is the default dumping ground for players leaving their corporations.
Kick them to "a decable and awoxable corp"? You're going to have to flesh out that idea more and, more importantly, all the obvious exploits it creates. For starters, who is in charge of this corp? Who makes the decisions for the corp? Can corpmates kill and pod one another without incurring the wrath of Concord?
It seems like you didn't think this rant through. You're whining about something that burned you ingame and instead of thinking of a viable solution, you came here to ***** about it. Too busy playing The Secret World. EvE has gone stale and boring. |

Removing them would cause difficulties. What should happen is there should be huge disadvantages to being in a NPC corp for characters beyond a particular age and skillpoint level. And NPC corp characters sure as hell shouldn't be able to post on forums for anything other than technical support. |

simply unworkable
the answer is to allow player corps to war dec all corps npc or otherwise, other than the starter corps and let these corps have the same combat rules, e.i. you can shoot at your corp mates just like player corps... no where to run.
It's also been said in this thread that all changes would do is make toons stay docked as the guys alts do what their thing.

What problem do you solve by forcing me to make a corp for my posting alt?
Getting rid of npc corps will change nothing. People with stuff worth shooting will hop around 1 man corps and noobs will just leave the game. Rather than change the mechanics it would be much easier if you just accept that you don't get to harass industrial pilots out of the game. |

Ever since FW came about I've wondered why CCP doesn't shove all non noob NPC corp players into those NPC FW corps. You get stuffed into the one most appropriate for your standings or your race`s if standings are all 0.0. |

Exactly. I'd go further and make every NPC corp FW-mandatory. Also every player corp should have to declare their allegiances to the main factions with the appropriate consequences if they enter that faction's high sec. Spice the game up a bit. |

Where in corp aggression would not endure concord wrath. Hands down, dumbest idea ever.

Which is currently enraging hard core organised eve subscribers. I want to work for my high and I want others too. It saddens me that CCP is pandering to the MMO junkies.

NPC alts are annoying, but forcing player out of NPC corporation (or god forbid, disband NPC corporations) is a horrible idea.
What CCP could do however, is increasing the corp tax for older players. You'd get a lot of players fleeing in one-man corporations, but perhaps having a corporation should be made more expensive as well. I would support increasing the tax on EVERYONE in an NPC corp, as well as at every high sec NPC station, as well as reducing refine rates in those stations, among other things. |

Reducing refine rates? What does that have to do with anything related to npc corps? If you are in an npc corp, do you get no refine taxes at your corps stations? Or is this another get people into nul hope? Look, changing refine rates will do nothing. People will just pass costs onto the consumer. Do you want generally higher prices? I would prefer not to gave to work so hard to replace my pvp losses. So really, unless if you are in an npc corp and that alone leads to no refining tax, you are just clouding the issue.
As for the whole notion of taxing older toons, how could that be done in a fair and balanced manner? Would it be that after x moths the rate rises by y? If this, would it reset ever? In other words are you just setting up a system so that every x month I create a 1 man corp then drop back to npc to to lose taxes? Or would it be based on total time in npc corp so that if I purchase a mission alt I have to be worried npc employment history?
Also, since CCP does frown upon a group chasing an individual and deccing every corp they enter, especially if no financial gain, how would you limit this? Would people be forced to drop a war after a week so you can't be accused if griefing?
And what about the social aspect of npc corps? Can you think of a replacement for the corp chat that is some 800+ strong? Yes small groups can form corps and chats, but others want the large social connection. That is how they meet new people and make friends. What replaced that? You are gone for a year, your corp is dead, and old friends no longer play. If you can't join back to an npc corp to find new people, what then? Spam jita? Keep corp hopping hoping to find the right group? Join the recruitment channel to be flooded with goon and other corp recruitment scams?
Look, npc corps serve a valid in game function. Just because it may not be your choice, just because it may protect some diesn't mean the idea is invalid. Yes maybe ccp could encourage people to step out more often with proper incentive.
But any change gas to be well balanced for old and new player a like. It has to take into account the social aspect the npc corps provide, and it has to take into account the many reasons people may turn to npc corps. So far, nothing suggested seems to cover all this. Rather, most people seem to just want to inflict their play style on others and to Hell with any balance or ramifications for others, which is not a decent line of thinking or compromising in a sandbox mmo like eve. |

And I didn't say it had anything to do with NPC corps, just NPC stations. I was just running with the other guys suggestion.
I personally think everyone in the NPC corps should have higher taxes, including my alts.

For the last part, I am having trouble tracking down specifics. Still, from what i recall, it reaches the realm of harassment at some point. I also do not believe it occurs too often. The gist is that if you stalked another player for several months, constantly war deccing any corp they join, even a 1 man corp they start, it can get you in trouble. Now mind you, such harassment, though rare, probably isn't just war deccing. There is probably other harassment involved. Additionally, there is usually a requirement that you can't be profiting from this.
Deccing red fed or goons for years on end isn't an issue. Picking a 1 month old toon, deccing any corp that player joins and attempting to make that player's existence in game miserable for 6 months for no reason but the grief you cause can get you in trouble.
My point is, forcing people into one man corps would facilitate this. And even if I am wrong, others believe the same ruling, which would lead to ccp receiving petitions on harassment constantly, which in turn would cause problems I doubt ccp wants to deal with, which is another reason why I doubt you will ever see the elimination of npc corps.
As for taxes, I could see raising the tax in npc, but worry how much that would hinder new players or those returning after a,long absence with no isk. I remember looting a random wreck from some pirate when i was a few weeks old. The t2 mods and ammo netted me 10 mil isk. At the time I thought that was huge and was terrified the original owner would hunt me down/war Dec my corp into oblivion. Now... 10 mil is chump change. Still, with any proposal, people have to consider all classes of character... And for a few month old toon, 15 or 20% can be brutal. |
