I've seen people spending money to collect some pretty silly things in EVE, and I was just wondering if anyone is collecting frozen corpse? I found 2 in a local war zone.

I saw some buyers in market one time, but for some reason I couldn't sell them. It asked me to repackage, but there was no repackaging option. Maybe I need mortitian skills. Let me know if you see any on the market

Corpses, at least from BETA, were supposed to be used as Biomass fuel to turn you into a Jovian...but that's heresay at this time.

theres a buy order for them on the market at 100 isk each, i would rather keep them and start my own collection than sell them to someone for 100 isk.
Maybe I can randsom them back to the people that formaly inhabited the bodies to keep me from putting them on display / selling them to their foes.

consider it a badge of honour collect as many as you can - perhaps CCP can have morgues scattered in certain systems where a corpse can fetch 2,000 ISK a go. Might encourage more to be collected dunno otherwise - perhaps agents as part of LP rewards trades ask for 10 corpses for exchange of some equipment

what is the point of collecting a corpse if you didnt kill them yourself? they are trophies for the victorious fighter nothing more nothing less.
if you want to collect them get out there and kill them.

I have about 700 corpses... From people I've fought/killed... Other corpses are pointless.
I did pay for a corp members corpse once though, to annoy him.

I feel that in order for bounties to be paid on players, you need to bring in the corpse to concord. Period. One could set up a whole trade around it almost "Need cash now? I'll buy your pirate corpses and haul em to concord for a 10% split of the profit!"
But yeah I always heard back when EVE promised to have real depth, that pirate players would find biomass to be more useful than your average joe. Why?
Simple, Pirate players where NOT intended to depend on Empire, but instead the different pirate factions for survival. In those areas biomass would fetch a very high price because cloning REQUIRES said corpses/etc.
There was even talk about needing biomass as a "fuel" for a stations clone/med bay on player owned stations. Each grade of clone requiring more and more rare types of high quality biomass, player corpses being new the top.
Of course, biomass was also supposed to be a black market item (or at best somehting you needed special clearance to haul), pick up a body in sight of concord and they nail you.
All in all so many neat things CCP suggested they would do, or already had done have yet to even resurface from the glory of the beta days... This is just one of em.
In the mean time corpses ARE a fun way to feel uber I suppose. ;)

I think corpses should be replaced with induvidual dogtags if they aren't going to be used for science. Having corpses is a decent trophy, but it is kinda gross, and having a tag collection would be alot better for showing to people.

You see them alot around space wrecks, and in some DS missions/complexes. You cant scoop them but you can target them. So I would say somewhere in the future there will be a use for biomass...
Free-form Professions, ensure no limetations on professions. Be a trader, fighter, industialist, researcher, hunter,pirate[/i] or mixture of them all.

Turning in corpses to Concord for the bounty might be easily abused. It would be hard to keep a bounty on anyone if they have a bunch of mass manufactured corpses left over from when they were a new player.
Technically though, if empires always attached a basic bounty to everyone depending on security status, then any number of such corpses would be valuable. Also, pirate or empire faction organizations would pay out depending on the value of the corpse's standing. -- No, wait, that too would be abused by alts. I hate the dumb things in this game that get in the way of implementing good content.

atach the bounty value to the corpse when the pod is popped would effectively make just that corpse worth whatever bounty the person had.
but to be honest there is way more important things to fix then this.
and the current ding in the wallet to the one who pops the pod works.
