This may be a silly question .. but.
How do the developers prevent from people using memory progs to change values of ISK, Skills, Training time etc. Surely there are people doing this and if so how do the developers check ?

HotTrout, such pieces of information are kept server-side. Therefore, there's really nothing client-side that can be done about that.

does that mean that the games writes back to server LIVE. as in every second for training. That would put a considerable tole on the server for 7000+ players.
Surely some data is held local and updated of a period?

He means all that is done server side .... so unless you find a way to hack the eve-cluster .. there is no way to cheat other then macro's and progged in exploits. -----------------------

There's a well-defined formula for things like skill training time etc, so all that information is only sent to the client on connect or when something changes. Theoretically, you could have an in-memory program which could somehow change skill training outside of the EVE client, by sending the appropriate commands etc to the server directly but:
a) you'd have to know what those commands are, and CCP aren't going to publish that. b) what would be the point?
Everything is held serverside. You can launch EVE on another computer, login, and see all your character / ship / hangar information. That info is not available outside EVE except through the published read-only feeds that CCP provide.

you can modify some client data that it will look as tho you got more isk. However the server remains unchanged and the next time you get a transaction, server sends updated wallet info to your client and the client displays proper amount.

As for the skill training issue, it's quite simple.
When you logon your client gets sent the current skill it's training, and the time it finishes. Your client then displays this information. In theory, yes, you could hack your client to show that every skill was at 100%. But, it's all validated server side. Every time you online a module, every time you jump through a gate, it's all validated server side. This is why sometimes you can be 5m from a can and get "You must be within 1500m to open a container" message.
Hope that helps.

i think skill training is based on eve time. Time you started training vs. eve-time = end result. far less then having to update every few seconds.
this is the most cheat-free mmorpg I've ever played. Even macro users are few and far between... compared to other games at least ________
