I'm just curios about how often ppl get podded. I want active pvpers now. No empire pirate ganks. I want to know this so that I'm prepared. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I look at you with pity... |

Depends on what role I'm in. If I'm flying a heavy ship in a fleet engagement I usually make it out because people are more concerned with primary targets then with pods. If I'm bait, I almost always get podded, my computer can't handle the ship explosions so I always wake up in a cloning facility after I lose my ship. I usually get podded twice a week. I'm sure people doing similar things as me get podded less simply because they're not running a 933 Mhz Machine. If you want to PVP You should always be ready to lose your ship, and your pod, it's an occupational hazard. ----------------------------------------------

If you don't want a reply from empire pirates, try the corps and alliances sections.
Anyway...
I've been podkilled once (before castor) and VERY close two more times (pod was into armor), so it's not very frequent.

Across all characters I've flown over 9-10 months in PvP.. once in actual combat, twice undocking into someone camping a docking tube with smartbombs.
It varies a whole lot from person to person and depending on the situation you're in though.
Generally, if you know how to warp out your pod quickly (which can take a bit of practice, if you don't have any experience): - in small scale BS engagements, the risk of getting podded is very low, unless one of your opponents specifically tries to go for pods (e.g. fights at close range and fits a few smartbombs) - in frig engagements, the risk is considerably higher, but still manageable if you are fast with warping and there is not much lag - in very large blob fights the risk of getting podded is very high due to lag and client unresponsiveness

I think I had 3 podkills or something, one when I got a tad too close to an Armageddon with a large smartbomb, another one when I was testing out how long I would survive in a shuttle, travelling on autopilot, from EC-P8R up to CCP-US (I got to P-33KR!) and another one I can't really recall any details about.

twice, once by a smartbomb in 0.0 waiting for me when i came out of warp and once when i first started by a corp m8 (quite funny actually i told him to blow up my Imperior and ejected from it...little did i know he had already fired, my pod gets hit by the missile and the Imperior survives)
I have only actually been activly been PvP'ing for about 4 months, but in that time i have not lost a pod ------------------------------------------------- Defend Amarr space, join the Auctoritan Syndicate today |

In two years of playing EVE I've never been PODed.
Yes, I operate in 0.0 space. And yes I've been in combat situations.
I guess I've just been lucky. Lieutenant Commander - Mining & Transport - Hadean Drive Yards

Damn good job! I have been podded once. I got caught trying to run a gate camp. -------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------- I am not paying $15 a month to play a immature a-hole. |

Twice last week, once by mekka the smartbomber and once in jump range of a gate after losing an incursus warping to the other gate then warping back, but crashing midwarp relogging and telling it to jump when my pod was at 1/2 struct and it still didn't jump in time.
Long time before that was the last time. Twice in 1 week with no control over my destiny is kinda lame though. _ _ How many pilots does it take to wire a Flux Capacitor? 3, 1 to wire it and 2 to talk about how the old one was better. |

I got podded back when i was a noobie npc hunter who ventured near 0.0 (i lost my frig to npc's then sombody got me while docking). Since i've started pvping, never, despite me flying almost only frigs. I have a good computer though, which is probably why. _______________________________________________________

The only times ive been podded were when people setup their ships specifically to kill me (insta lock etc). Each time that happenend they ended up loosing thier ship to my corp anyway so its no big deal.
Insane Angel had a harpy/hawk setup to kill frigs at a gate. Inst lock etc. He has a TS warp disruptor and a TS webber. We killed him later that night and got both of them.
If your in a ceptor, locking a pod is not that hard. Its getting your scrambler to cycle. ----------------------------------------- Heinky> Dont mix eve with rl it can be bad for your health |

Been PvPing on and off since about July last year. Podded once before that time while exploring 0.0, three more times since then due to smartbombs, friendly fire and lag respectively.

I've been podded once, in about 8 mounths (I've been here over a year)or so of pvp'ing more or less full time.
There is only one Lorth corpse in existance, and I own it.

Edited by: Gyrn Fzirth on 04/04/2005 23:06:32 I've been podded once in 1 1/4 yr of pvp. It was because of a session change bug :( Corpmate retrieved my corpse, so it's enshrined in a secure can in Obe.
I had a close call a second time - my frigate was raped by an interceptor and the guy scrambled my pod. He forgot to turn off his mwd though and his disruptor shut off. I warped my pod away with 70% structure. =============== Killboard: http://www.celeskills.com

I get podded by Seleene every time she takes offense to something I said here on the forums, or if I bring shame upon the corp...
Only happens once every week or so, because her gunnery skills are total crap.
If ECM is an act of aggression, why am I not on kill mails?

CYVOK has only been podded once, Lila Numar (sp?) WAAAAAAAY back in the day then again he has more SP in Corp managment than Gunnery so I don't use him to fight much. Very good at keeping the hanger floors clean and waxed though!
I get Fishy killed EVERY time I undock him, you'd think over 7mil SP in gunnery would be worth something, lol.
Cronus is right behind Fishy, lol.
humm.... maybe I just suck at PvP....

Podded 2x that I can recall, but I clone jump from time to time. Once was due to torp splash damage, the other was an instalock raven with tachyons.
Yes... those were a while ago :D In recent pvp over the last 7 or 8 months I have been lucky enough not to lose a pod. -- jamesw Rubra Libertas Militia

I'm quite proud of never having been podded at all (and yes I am an active PvPer). There have been several close calls, the best being me slowboating it to a gate in a pod while an Apoc with tachs shot at me and missed every time. I'm just lucky I guess _________________

I haven't been podded in at least 6 months, and that was pretty unavoidable (Warped to a gate at 15 in a rifter to find 4 BS around me all with large smartbombs).
Its pretty easy to avoid getting podded in most situations. Even in frigates its usually obvious you're going to die at least 5 seconds ahead of time. The key is staying calm enough to locate an exit strategy and hover the mouse over the "Warp" button. Don't click it until you see your evemail flash with the deathmail.

Was podded 2 days ago since like 5 months. But I actually asked for it. I was solo ganking any straggler FoE pirates. I got blown up by a "Evolution" gate camp of 1 Megatron and 2 warp bubbles. Think he was spamming smartbombs cause he got me on entry/warp real quick. Course that lagged the **** out of me on entry due to taking damage that quick. Asked to be podded cause im to lazy to hop 30 jumps to my new ship. Least he was nice enough not to pod me though. Other than that, hrrm what's the point?

2x in one week last week, before that not for 8 months.. Which also happend to be the last time I was actually online when I was podded
Somehow all the bad luck and chrashes just strike in one week, Ive never lost so many ships in one week as in that week, and more isk in ships then all the other time in eve before that *put together* .
