I have no problem with the ship kill because I was flying in 0.0 and in my hauler. Besides that my main is an ebil piwate and i've been popping indies all week so it's cool. It's just I don't understand why they didn't try to ransom my pod? It was 0.0 so there's no flagging and no tanking sentry, they could have held me there and made a ton of isk of me. This isn't a flame or a whine post cause it was a good gank but I had 190mil in implants and I would have paid a hansom amount of isk to keep it. At least ransom the pod's then blow them up lol. (I never pod kill btw). So what are your view's on pod killing? Are you for it or against it?

Pod kill anytime you can if your at war. As for pirate's I dunno. If you pay their ransom then no podding. If you don't well sorry junior.
"Come on God. Answer me. For years I am asking you why. Why are the innocent dead and the guilty alive? Where is justice? Where is punishment? Or have you already answered? Have you already said to the world, here is justice, here is punishment, here..............in me"

Yeah when I was at war with fa I podded every one of them I could find but as pirating goes I would think you would want to make some isk at the same time as killing people right? Mabye i'm just a carebear pirate but battleship's are expensive...

Reqium Inc are made up of a lot of old VOTF guys. They're pvpers, not pirates. As such, they're unlikely to ever ransom anyone.

I always pod when I get the chance. I don't ransom simply because I can't be arsed to spend any time asking, so unless the target starts screaming like mad in local asking for a ransom they're going to wake up in a station. :)

If we scramble a pod we usually kill it before he would have a chance to say anything. If im close to it, I will just smartbomb it so he deffinatly wont have time to beg for his life. Still, in most cases I'd rather have 10 points.

Dunno about pirates as it is not my forte (other than shooting down some once and awhile )
But while waging war we are out to make as much damage to the opponent as possible.
Nowadays a pod is sometimes "worth" more than the actual ship (clone + implants).
So yes, we always pod. As seen in last contracts 48.79% in podding percentage (Contract Statistics).

Don't get me wrong I have no problem with being shot down and podded. I'm not upset about losing the implants either anymore . Just was wondering everyone's views on the subject.

Unless you have a really fast locking opponent, your pod will escape. That means alot of those people will fat bounties and implants are somewhat safe....unless you run into the oddball intie out there.

Good point. That's why we always move around with one pilot solely focusing on getting that egg!

If you are a pirate, or a raving lunatic, or I think you are either of those, or are at war with me, then I'd probably pod you. Otherwise, no.
Pirate = Someone who prays on others to steal their cargo (and ship bits), and ransoms people for ISK. Raving Lunatic = Psychotic mass murderers who kill for the sake of killing. At War = Organization in a formal war, or who my corp has a KOS policy towards (an informal 0.0 war).
If you arent one of those three, and I don't think you are one of those three, I probably wouldn't even blow up your ship much less your pod. That statement about "everyone is a pirate in 0.0" is dead wrong.
Now IF I had an alt who may be a pirate... well, he'd ransom you if he can get a lock and WarpScram on you, and if he can't, he'd ask for ISK for not podding you, as he showed the first gesture of decency and you should reciprocate to ensure such decency continues should you encounter eachother again.

Edited by: Stars End on 09/04/2005 23:43:03 As far as NOMADS, it really depends on the situation.
We will always try to ransom the pod, if not the ship where possible.
A couple of instances where we wont ransom a ship would be: 1. Pilot refuses convo/ransom. 2. Smack talk
With that in mind, once they are in their pod, we start it all over again:
1. smack talk will get you the quick trip home 2. refusing ransom/convo
And after all that, there are times when we will destroy your ship/pod even after we've started the ransom process:
1. Taking too long. We usually give a deadline. At this point we assume reinforcements are coming and do the classic "smash and grab" 2. Reinforcements arrive (asked for or not by the pilot being ransomed).
But it all comes down to a case by case basis. We try to hold to the honorable ideals of pirates, but its not always possible. Sentries, reinforcements, etc.
Take that for whats it worth, and see you space.

Give them a chance to pay up, ransom whenever possible, then be man or woman enough to let them go - unless of course they smack talk you
I once ransomed a hauler with 250M Isk worth of assets in tow, he quickly paid me 200M Isk ransom, but then said You happy f*cker!?. Needless to say he lost 450M Isk during this event

FoE, respectable?
Mindlessly ganking neutrals, is NOT respectable by any means.
At least I gave this guy a chance to pay his way out of the situation. And I might add he was home free. He just screwed up with the smack talk during the process.

You killed someone who paid you. And your reasons were pathetic and childish. When you do **** like that, it reflets poorly on everyone in your alliance.

Paying a ransom does NOT give you free license to smacktalk/attack/etc. What it DOES give you, IMO, is a free get of jail ticket to GTFO.

And killing someone who has paid you a ransom over an idiotic half-smack comment means that you, your corp, and your alliance simply cant be trusted to recieve a ransom ever again.

That is a completely true statement PROVIDED they engage in any sort of activity that does not include departing immediately. If they are not smart enough to get out BEFORE smack talking. They get what they deserve. If they smack talk after leaving, thats all well and good.
And as far as you trusting us, thats your perogative (sp?). We've already received kudos on how we are operating.
