rankings.A lader and in every charecters description there needs to be a acuret kill's count and ship tipes + losses. And rankings witch tell if the player is a veterian pvper or not. What do you people think.Idea or just more lag? if you say more lag it could be out side the server's as a infomation board witch would not interfere with the server it self. I havent slept for 32 HOURS NOW but im on my pills BUT 32 HOURS WOHOO im doing.....GREAT! |

Actually I think the game would get a lot more fun if they got rid of killmails and corpses entirely.
There is no way to win, so theres no reason to keep score.
The game could do without the big-****ery ladders and the like involve.

I think ur wrong here. I mean i used to playing games where u get something for killing/winning ur oponent. In eve its loot. But, when u get to the point when u have nuff isk to buy anything u want, im talking about reasonable items here, the joy of looting some1s cargo goes away. I mean i enjoy good fight and stuff, but that when my mail flashes it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside ;-)

It's a nice idea but players should be able to decide if they want their kill statistics public.
After all, miners who repeatedly loose barges to pirates/empire wars/etc would feel .. embarrased perhaps or demeaned. PvPers who want to show off their cyber genitalia can do so by enabling it.
Otherwise it's like you char sheet - only you can get at it.

There should definitely be an official kill-board. It should be possible to see such stats using Show Info on character.
However, making such info public would be optional. So those who don't want others to see this will just disable it.

You must be new. Before killmails every fleet battle ended with a huge forum war over kills, and it usually got ugly pretty fast. Killmails = good.
It would be awesome if CCP would implement a killboard using their database. It would be perfectly accurate and would end all these stupid "omg corp xxx doesnt post their losses!" threads.

Oh yeah, we'd better make sure the carebears don't get their feelings hurt before we add something cool to the game.

Not only it would promote players shooting eachothers to increase their 'score', but some would figure ways to exploit it like repeatively shoot alts and increase score that way. Bad idea.

What the last guy said. Played a space trader that had a kill board. Alt killing and all that stuff. So it quickly became pointless. Would happen here have a friend log on an alt u him up in his ibis. ------------------------------------------- Aye Spellcheck is beyond me along with propper grammer. |

If you don't like it - don't use it. Simple as that. Just because you would kill alts repeatedly or want to hide your stats, doesn't mean nobody else should use it.
Having such optional stats displayed doesn't give you more isk, doesn't improve your standings to anyone, doesn't make you better in any way.
If you think some guy got high score by killing alts - fine, your choice, no harm done to anyone.

I think his point is that it encourages people to not fight more then it encourages them to fight, or risk ******* up their ladder ranking. Although CCP seems to like encouraging blobbing and ganking, so perhaps they'll like it.
I would be interested in a one-off CCP statement on most participations in kills of a ship type, most losses of a ship type, most poddings, and the like.
Originally by: Sochin CCP has provided you with the tools you need to avoid crime. You're just too lazy/stupid to use them.

I think the situation is just fine the way it is, the only thing I would change is including EW/capture pilots on the kill mails.

Use eve-kill then. Wouldnt make much difference to have official ladder or eve-kill except one would take dev time to develop.

I'd like ccp to add to market the following: -m4 -ak47 -m249 -Famas -awp -... -rocket launcher -wait, we already have this one
Eve should not become a space counterstrike. This idea of official ccp rankings makes me imagine young leet kids bragging about their uber stats (some people remain kids their whole life ^^). No, frankly, I strongly disagree with this. On a RP level it wouldn't be very explainable either.
People have their own killboards, there is no use for official ccp one ^^
Dear friendly customer... Can I have your money ?

It'd be nice to see a killboard that is updated directly from CCPs logs so we have a totally accurate log of kills/deaths. It'd be good for all PvPers and especially for warring alliances etc.
Maybe for the people who don't like this idea we could have a 'roids popped' killboard?
Oh and Anter, we may not be able to use EvE Kills in the future as, if you don't know, the guy who ran it recently passed away and it won't be maintained anymore. _________________

What we need is less people who need a killboard because they think that they can increase the size of their... Thorax with it.

Go play Unreal or Doom if you need frag counts. Eve has a little more depth than that.

well you see the kill list would not be for miners or traders or any thing of that sort. it would be for the pirates AND for the allience wars. wich allience for say is geting the better side of the other allience. and it comes down to this. both sides will not be abil to lie about there kills and losses.
p.s my spelling sucks

No CCP official killboard.
Personally I'm not here to play CS in space, I don't want rankings, ladders or whatever else.

This might surprise some, but I say NO to an official kill board. Many people, even some PvPers, could really give a crap less how many ships they have killed / lost. They just play the game, win or lose, to have fun.
What would be nice though is being able to get a feed that allowed those of us with external kill boards that would auto-update any kill/loss associated with your corp or alliance.
Other than that the only thing I can think of is.. oh yeah...

I fully agree. The guy that made the comment about the miners/agent runners/traders getting a bad score, also has a valid point. Yup, I'm definitly against an official kill board system too .

Its just another way of having a CCP killboard. The only people that want one seem to be major PVP'ers, and with a personal killboard they just compare numbers...

Oh please. There are enough people playing this as Counterstrike-in-space as is, we don't need to encourage them.

Kill boards are certainly useful in the context of corp wars - and could be confined to such.
There may be other applications of such a feature. It should be possible that a player or corp can opt-in or opt-out of kill boards.
There... everyone's happy :)
