It's not entirely unreasonably to hope that the original post would be edited to add FAQs as a great many other dev posts are.
Wading through god knows how many pages looking for a dev response isn't the quickest. If its even there since the dev blog post holds the dev tag by default...(unless I miss a quick way to find dev posts) |

If you click on the blue dev tags they take you in order through every dev response in a thread. You can scan a 100 page thread for dev posts in a few minutes (depending on how wordy the devs are that day).
It save's a huge amount of time spent scanning a large thread for all the Dev replies.
To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors.
If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

OP not sure if this helps you but,
I am training all my frigs to level 3, my destroyer skill to level 4, all my cruiser skills to level 3 and my battlecruiser skill to level 4.
My reasoning for this simply that it will provide a the ability to fly any all battlecruiser or lower ship for all races. ideally i will get teh frigs and cruiser skills up to level 4 if time permits, but the above is my initial plan |

a quick look around the forum to find the answer vs making yet another of these posts (of which multiple can be found via the search function).
there's really no reason for this topic at all, especially when the answer has been put out there many times by the devs.
Reading my posts is like panning for gold; most it will be useless, but occasionally you'll find a nugget of gold. |

You have to have all your frigs to IV in order to train all your cruisers to III. However, the gist of your plan is solid if you don't have all the time in the world.
Personally, I put off training BC to V until a few days from now because I don't fly them often and the devs had previous stated they would give enough warning before the changes took place, which they actually did in this dev blog. As it stands, my BC V will finish a few days after the 4th.
I'm pretty confident that the actual skill changes won't happen for at least a few weeks after Retribution comes out, probably a good month, so most anyone except for the greenest of greenhorns should have plenty of time to at least get BC to IV for all races. |

The changes to skills, go in when the ships have been re-balanced.
Battlecruisers aren't part of Retribution according to the latest Devblog, so you should concentrate on destroyers for now, which are.
Nobody knows when the battlecruiser changes go in tho, so best start training those asap after you're done with destroyers. |

yes, but for some they must start now. We know its not 4th of december but something a tad more clear would not kill any1. |

Developers don't give hard and fast dates for a very good reason. Be glad we at least have this much warning. |

Indeed, and it bears repeating that they infact gave several months warning.

From another Dev's post it was my understanding that this would not be happening until next year. Please tell me this is still true as I have been planning my training on EVEMon with this in mind. After reading the new dev blog today though about the new destroyers I am not so confident about what is happening and when.

Well they are able to give dates for other things which are not complete like this upcoming expansion for example. Asking some clarification and a not before x date does not seem an unresonable request to me.

See, they have plans set out for after the initial retribution launch. But they haven't been working on them as they are finishing up the first release, since they are knee deep into it, they know the major features are ready for dec 4. Beyond that is no dates.
They tell you in the dev blog right there that "NOW" is a good time to start training those skills up. Not that it will be ready in a month but just incase, as they don't want to hear people bitching about not being given ample time. |

Fair enough they said 'NOW'. I wish that was of help, but training speeds can vary a lot, would be nice to know if I need to be thinking about buying some training implants. I think by clarifying and giving a not before x date a lot less bitching would ensue.
