During the night the "last" of the manual mails was imported to zKB
And this is the end result (Taken from IRC)
(13:02:01) (ESCBot) Karbowiak: Unparsed kills: 0 / Total kills: 13,841,460 / Actual Kills: 13,359,614
Now all thats needed to be done, is move over the last of the manual mails, the api verified mails, and then go through the ones that failed - and the move is complete!
HOWEVER, this does not mean zKB will be launched, but it's closer, a lot closer! |

I've noticed that when I click on kills to examine them, and I try to go back to the previous page, pressing back reloads the kill page again. This started happening about two weeks ago or so. Is this working as intended?
Edit: It appears that this issue has something do to with the ads being disabled by Adblock Plus. |

Just tested the page on a multitude of pages, both with ads blocked, and without ads blocked, and it seems to work just fine.
It was tested with latest dev version of Chrome with Adblock+ |

Thanks for looking into it. I updated to the latest dev version of Chrome and everything is working fine now. Sorry for thinking it was something wrong with the site! Great job and keep up the good work! |

A few updates.
Firstly we have added stomp support to zKB, including gotten a stomp server setup (thanks to PeterPowers )
What is stomp you might ask, well, basically it's a message queue, where we will publish API mails to, as we get them into zKB. So anyone can listen in, and get mails as we get them.
This could be very cool for that one person who wants to make a live updating map, of kills happening in EVE
You can probably think of more uses
Also, we have altered the DB a bit, to be partitioned, so it's faster (might do move partitioning, we'll see) _AND_ we are almost done with moving over mails, woo..
Currently there are 15.8million mails.
And lastly, we have begun moving zKB's development over to github, it's still a private repo, but we will be letting more people into the development of it. And soon, it'll go opensource, so everyone can participate. |

Over the next day or two, there might be issues with zKB, mainly in regards to stuff not loading (scripts)
If you run into this issue, let us know - we have reworked quite a bit of the backend dependencies, and the paths. And i'm pretty sure we've missed something somewhere |

Seeing as zKB is rapidly taking shape, we have decided to start looking for more people to help us out.
What we are looking for are people who are fluent in english and has a humor. What we'll give you in return is some great times with a close knit group of friends, who have all been working on EVE-KILL for years. Plus you'll have the ability to work on the largest killboard in EVE. Plus whatever else we can have fun doing.
Below are a bit more concise list of what you should be able to do, what we require from you and obv. where to contact us.
What you need to have..
- Good english (Written, not spoken)
- A sense of humor
What you should be able to do..
- PHP
- HTML
- Javascript
What we require from you..
- Being on IRC
- Not coding PHP worse than me (Karbowiak)
What you'll be working with..
- SlimFramework
- Twig
- Almost 17 million killmails, and some very beefy server hardware
- A bunch of crazy people
If you're still interested, please contact us on IRC. Contact: Server: irc.coldfront.net Channel: #esc

This week if you've been trying to use zKillboard it's probably been slow, unresponsive, or just downright not responding to you. I'm sorry for that.
I've spent the past few days doing some major changes to our 2nd biggest table: 100m rows, 19 columns, 33 indexes, for a total of 50 gb in table size. These changes have reduced the footprint of the table by roughly 20% and allowed us to implement better indexes on the data. Unfortunately any major changes to the table took 18 hours at a time, so I'd start it in the morning and finish it the next morning (I do have to sleep!). Hopefully we are over this major table shakeup.
Over the next few weeks you should see a flurry of development from us which will have less impact on you. You'll be seeing more of a polished, final project as well. I'm really proud of us for getting as far as we have on this and I hope you all enjoy the new killboard with at least half the enjoyment I have had in creating it :) Various projects I enjoy putting my time into: http://eve-kill.net | http://zkillboard.com | http://evewho.com | http://evechatter.com | http://skillq.net |

So for those of you who still havn't noticed, i have been toying with something many will like.
An EDK based theme
Some things are different tho, it is wider than the standard EDK theme, and it still uses bootstrap elements to keep as much of the template code the same between the two views. BUT if all goes to plan, you can use your old banner and your old CSS from EDK.
Pretty cool huh?
If you want to view the EDK theme for zKB, make an account, go to site settings, and select EDK under Theme. At the moment it's stuck using the cyborg theme from bootstrap, since it's what fits into EDK the best - but as i go, i'll sort a CSS editor, plus move over some of the standard EDK themes for everyone to enjoy.
That said, there are bugs, the ones i have identified is: - tablet view is terrible - mobile view is even worse - the grey lines in the side dont extend all the way down - stuff in bootstrap that is defined by spans, are a bit wonky in their placement.
If you notice anything really wtf, do reply here, or stop by IRC with it.
-- As for progress, we are going ahead pretty damn fast, git have slowed us a little bit down, but that has more to do with it constantly thinking we're morons and wants us to merge ****. Or, maybe are morons, dunno
As for programmers, we are still looking, so far two have showed up, one didn't pan out, the other just vanished after an hour
Anywho, that is all! |

It's been a few days since we last updated this. So here is some more information!
Since last post, we have created a few new things, and fixed some bugs.
Latest added feature is a stats call to the API, by courtesy of Ricky Baby. you can see more info about this here: https://zkillboard.com/information/api/ (Scroll down to near the bottom)
There has also been a few improvements to the EDK theme, making it look better, still a lot that needs doing on that front, so. yeah.
The autocomplete search has been revamped, also by Ricky Baby, so now it will actually send you directly to the page you want, instead of sending you to a search page.
We are also working on bringing a BRDOC feature to zKB, but will most likely also provide an API call for it, so other sites can still implement BRDOC incase they want to (or if someone wants to use the data for something, like, a forum summary or something)
So, with all of this work happening, we are getting close. Real close to releasing the code to all of you who wants to toy with it and add to it (and hopefully contribute back!) |

(Probably some sort of recursive loop it was unable to get out of until the inevitable stack overflow error.)
I'm currently snagging all the killmails back to Jan 01 2013 ... but once that is done (it will probably take another week or so), then resuming from my most recent KillMailID and working my way into the future, ensuring that I never miss a KM, requires that orderDirection/asc be functioning.
I realize you guys have lives and tonnes of daily work dealing with the killboards ... but when you can get around to it fixing that problem ... I would love you long time. Amarr Militia - Fweddit - http://fweddit.com Poetic Discourse - http://poeticstanziel.blogspot.com |

I have a API Request,
Could you add a option to show estimated ISK Value of the Kill? That could open up many interesting analysis to be pulled from the API :)
Also, it seems the endTime tag is broken, or I'm formatting the DateTime badly (But it works for startTime tho) |

I asked about it a few weeks ago, and the response was non-committal. I'm sure they have the information in the database, since their new stats API functions give ISK values for losses and kills.
For my own project, I could start accessing the EVE-Central database, getting the mod prices myself, and then constructing ISK values of items on the KM ... but zKill doing it for me would be a time-saver.

Something I really liked about the old API (Epic one) was the "Mask" attribute, which was really good to select the information you want.
We may, or may not do this. Yup, that's completely uncommittal :)
Reason being we are trying to keep this particular API as close to CCP's API as possible by not adding any fields that CCP wouldn't include themselves. I'm not saying this is how it will always be, but that's just the reasoning we have for it today. The XML call for the zKB API, actually looks like the CCP API so much, you could fool Pheal into eating it without much modification (you'd need to alter the URL, that's it)

Played around with the zKillboard feed XML and it's probably the widest ranging one I've encountered. It goes through PLs custom API parser with no modification which makes things nice and easy, it also allows for unusual requests of particular use to us due to its scope. |

Heyo -- firstly, thanks for the awesomeness of releasing the code to the public to start tinkering with, much appreciated!
I got things up and running for the most part, and was able to successfully add a corp-level API key to my self-hosted copy, however it doesn't appear to be feeding (it lists no errors in the API info page, but also no date that it actually parsed anything).
I then tried posting a mail manually, and get unknown corp ID, unknown alliance name, and other "unknown" stuff which caused the mail to not post.
After a bit of digging in the database I see that zz_corporations and zz_alliances tables aren't populated with any data, and none of the included SQL's contain that information. If memory serves, EDK came with a 'data dump' from CCP that contained a lot of this information, and I think EDK just kind of "adds as it sees new alliances/corps" in a mail.
Am a bit stumped at how zKB handles this (not a PHP expert by any stretch of the imagination!), but I'm starting to wonder if I can just do a dump of my EDK tables for corps, alliances, etc, and munge the data to match the column layout for zKB and import.
Before going to that length though I figured I'd post and see if I was missing something stupid. :)
Thanks!

First up, everyone has to use the Forgot Password feature ( https://zkillboard.com/forgotpassword/ ) since we/i changed the password hashing stuff, and autologin. So all old passwords are now invalid and won't get you anywhere. Sorry.
Second, lost of people have begun forking and contributing to zKB. Which is very much appreciated! thank you all so much <3

Atm zKB uses a multitude of Cronjobs to fill up tables, if you look at util/cron.php you can see multiple functions which are to be called from a cronjob. Some parse kills, some fill up the char/ally/corp tables with info, others fetches from the API etc. etc. It's a clusterfuck of commands atm.
And no, you can't take data from EDK and directly into zKB, wont work at all
If you need some more direct help, do come by IRC and chat with us.
THAT SAID, zKB atm is very beta - and should obv. be treated as such |
