Hey gents.
I been playing with the razer lachesis for just over a year now but its just started developing the good ol' razer double click bug (always goes down well in fleets where you doubleclick manual fly 90km away without noticing).
Previously had a razer diamondback which lasted 4 years and my little brother has now used for about 2 years and its still going strong so I've decided i want another durable mouse which will last for bloody ever. Anyone got any suggestions for long lasting durable mice? Preferably with a decent sensitivity (~3500 dpi). Im a bit skeptical about getting another razer mouse since aparently the double click issue im getting with my lachesis is rampant among all the new models.

I've been using the Corsair M60 for almost a year now and it's been amazing so far. I personally don't use the sniper button on the side, but some people love it. |

Been using a Ligitech G5 for a few years now. May be a bit basic with only 3 buttons + clickable wheel, but with an adjustable weight panel and fully adjustable sensitivity with 3 pre-set sensitivity settings that you can swap to on-the-fly with the sensitivity adjuster buttons, you can get it working juuust the way you want. |

I don't think the double click issue is something you can avoid no matter what mouse you buy. It's just luck how long your mouse will last before it develops an issue. I've had to buy 2 mice in the last 4 years, both logitech both identical. First one developed the double click issue at the end of the first year, the second has worked fine for nearly 3 years. Just buy something you're comfortable using and be prepared to buy a new one every few years. |

Logitech G5 here, works great and has good ergonomics. Also, there's nothing wrong with the good old Logi MX510/518 Amat victoria curam. |

I'm running a G9x at home, along with a G15 Rev2 keyboard. Awesome mouse, adjustable weight, plenty of functions, sweet accuracy.
I'm also running a Razer Tarantula keyboard at the office, paired with a Razer DeathAdder mouse, and they're both sweet too. The DeathAdder is a little light for my tastes in terms of a mouse, but it's very accurate.

Have a R.A.T 7 myself nearly 2 years now. Brilliant mouse. But unfortunately it does suffer from the dreaded double click fault over time. Iv replaced mine once, it lasted a year and a half. U get a 2 year warranty with the mouse.
I had Razer Lachesis but i didn't like the feel of it, so sent it back and changed it. At least the R.A.T 7 is customisable. U can adjust the weight and the size of the mouse, the palm rest, the thumb rest and pink finger rest also. There are 3 or 4 different grips u get also. |

I had a R.A.T. 7 for a long time, but it constantly gave me trouble. This seems to be a problem will all of them, as I've exchanged it three times and the problem never went away: The cursor sometimes moves even though the mouse clearly doesn't. How much and how often depends on the surface to some degree, but considering it's a high-end gaming laser mouse, that's very much unacceptable. The movement is only a few pixels, but it's enough to occasionally miss a button, selecting a line of text in the browser instead of clicking a link or shooting just over someones head instead of right through it in any FPS. Most times it moves when clicking a button, but occasionally it keeps on moving even without a hand on the mouse. No, the sensor is clear. Yes, I've tried EVERYTHING (whole ordeal went on for weeks).
I've exchanged it for a much cheaper Logitech G500 (about half the price), and it even feels much more precise. It has a very rough surface, which I like, but I can imagine it to be uncomfortable for some. In any case, I can highly recommend it! I have used it for about two months now, and I don't have a single complaint :) |

Im actually looking at logitech G400/G500 atm they look pretty good plus ive heard they are strong as bricks. Ive tried my mates RAT7 (or mayby it was a 5) and to be honest i didnt like it, too big for my hands(although i didnt try all the tack on stuff) and the styling looks like something i would drool over when i was 12 ;D.
As for razor mice in general ive heard more than once in the past about there reliability but I've experianced 1st hand a 6 year old diamondback optical still working and my own lachesis which is causing me grief now has lasted just under 2 years, still im going for something different though.
As for keyboard i run an old unicomp model M clone. Those things are sweet and literally last forever if you look after them.
Cheers for the recommendations though guys im probably gonna go for a logitech G400/500. |

Most any trackball. Works fine for EVE, especially in long sessions where a mouse can cause carpal tunnel syndrome. No pain with a trackball, no fatigue, going all day long. Works especially well with twitch games like shooters, easily double my frag rate compared to using a mouse. Not sure about the thumb control models, but the center ball models are just deadly. I'd say kensington or logitech. Used kensington for years, easy to repair, outlasted any of my old mice, but I'm liking my new logitech, less issues with routine maintenance. Cord or cordless, it doesn't matter since it doesn't move apart from moving from desktop to armchair or wherever. Mice are for cats. |

Consistent top three in 64 slot shooter with avg ping says it all to me. That's 20 to 1 ratio on global leader board tracking. A mouse is a hindrance, moving a wrist and hand is far slower than index and middle finger. |

Googling for logitech & kensington trackballs will bring up some good stuff. |

Grimpak wrote:people who say trackball sucks it's because they are not used to them. Absolutely true. When I got my first PC trackball, it took time to get used to it. Once I got used to it, it took time to find the perfect settings for me (2/3 speed and between 1/10 and 1/8 acceleration). I have a nice performance boost from using it, so I stick to it. I still have a mouse, an M$ wireless optical that I use with 3D modeling apps, though I have been using my new trackball more often with those apps. I use a pen tablet with my graphics/drawing apps. The rest, especially twitch based games, trackball does best for me.
But trackball vs. mouse really depends on the individual. You a drummer? Probably a mouse. I sux at physical drums apart from drum sequencers. You a guitarist or synth player (I do both), trackball will probably fit you better than a mouse. |

I'm currently using the Razer Naga Hex, and it's i think it's a pretty good mouse. I'm not really sure if it's worth the 80-100$, i think you can get a mouse the is just as good at a lower price, and the hex bottom are not really all that use full but they work in eve.
If you are planing on buying a expensive mouse, i would advice you to go to the store and try it out before you pay for it. It's hard to know if the size of the mouse fits you hand, unless you actually tried the mouse. GÇ£The best way to keep something bad from happening is to see it ahead of time, and you can't see it if you refuse to face the possibility.GÇ¥-á |
