Offline skilltraining system ? Yes please!
And Samuel L Jackson spends some of his spare time playing EVE-O
Edit: Ok, read Oveurs reply afterwards, but the interview says that they are anyways.

They are getting plenty of practice :/
Yes I agree, and they might actually figure out how to test and patch a one player game in 2 years.
Sounds great.
Can't iron out the issues with eve so lets start another game.
Are you guys a subdivision of EA?

How many planets and moons are there in eve?
Would be cool to have a planet based game operating alongside the space based game.
Imagine yourself as a Caldari child looking up at the night sky, seeing tiny little flashes of light way, way, way up above as a dreadnaught launches volley after volley on a noob alt who just scammed them out of 5 million for a labslot in nonni
You have no idea where nonni is (as its on a different server) but one day you vow that you too will be up amongst the stars.
Would be fun yes? and i'd defo run two accounts then, one planetside and the other where i am now, up in space.

If CCP mindset and focus turns to another game then Eve is going to suffer. I intended to play Eve for many years to come. This is the first sign of a possible downward spiral.

Over-reaction ftw CCP are a games developer. They have stated they intend to continue as a games developer, and hence deveop games. At the moment, they are continuing to deveop eve. At some completely unspecified point in the future, they will probably develop another game.
CCP are a business. As such, they exist to make money. As long as eve is live and turning a profit, they will continue developing it. As such, they will likely support it for as long as the community supports it. It is the community that will signal when the end of eve is nigh, not CCP.

Why bother? In Eve you can already farm (npcs) and do some mining.
IF you introduce fishing you will have "THE SUPREME GAME" Selling Raven BPC ME20 3M at Yulai 1st Station |

Signed as well. Already changed both my chars to a monthly based subscription. that's just one step closer to clicking that cancel subscription button.
The spiral has already started. Notice the dwindaling logged in players lately. In general these are the lowest logged in numbers I've seen since start of eve.
Even after patch that was supposed to bring in much content.
What's killing it for me is everyone else seems to know what this game is "supposed to be" and CCP caters to the whiney public over just making their game work.
CCP needs to tell us customers to crap in our hat and they need to make the game the way they want it and not worry about the whiney public so much.
These patches that are introduced to fix or "balance" the game to fit these whiney needs and crys is rediculous and are causing the game to be more bug riden than anything else.
Comes a point where too much customer service is a bad thing. CCP needs to simply make their game the way THEY want it and if we the customers don't like it we'll leave. that hasn't been the case until just recently so i don't understand why cater to them.
Heck we've gotten the most "balance and adjustment" patches since exodus even the the whole exodus thing was to be a content era for eve.
Why, cuz of all the whine attacks over various fun parts of eve that has resulted in nothing but nerfs for anything "fun"
Not trying to say WoW is better than Eve in any way ...... but they introduced a new kill sheet this week and kill list to each and every player and they are going to have uber rewards for those that take part in the PvP realm. Very cool system and they set it up with honorable kills and dishonorable kills, daily, weekly, yearly totals.
Regardless of what WoW is or isn't. their PvP flagging and reward system is pretty neat. I got my first solo PvP honorable kill last night ....... and i gotta be honest. It was really really cool and fun.
And it just might lead me to the darkside here in Eve.
Is there any pirate corps hiring skill pilots, that one Got two chars for a total of about 47 mill SP between the two.
As for alts mine is Keld Ara.

See.
And right after my first solo PvP kill in WoW, wouldn't ya know it a hugh horde raiding part came down to a town where i could get up way high and archer snipe the raiding party and got 5 more honorable kills.
Only after some big lvl 60 guy was like archer scout on the castle did they take it out of town.
As I was plugging him with every arrow i could to slow him down for the ground forces to kick his arse.
So are there any them pirate corps looking for a newb gankster or what.

I agree to an extent. However, CCP by its actions will cause people to leave the game. When CCP begins to focus it's best and most creative people on this new baby of theirs then Eve will suffer. I'm not saying Eve is going to end soon(tm), but that this new game will eat away at Eve like a virus. Saw it too many times in the game industry.

I agree with the sudden lack of players but wasnt it a couple weekends ago that we had a new record.
WoW, Matrix Online have just been released in Europe, so people are probably taking a look and evaluating them. I know im one of them, Ive cancelled 2 out of 3 of my accounts to take a break to try these out but I know I will be back.
April/May is a heavy time for exams in UK so I bet alot of people have taken time off to study for that.
I think it would be a good thing if CCP made a new game, as long as they kept the same number of staff working on EVE. EVE is a great game, and id love to play another game made by them.
If this is the start of a downward spiral, when do we get the E&B-styley-halloween-lootfest week??? |

it was a high mark but not the highest.
I personally wouldn't judge it on the sunday night push.
watch the logged in players every other time except the normal busiest night for eve. numbers are down drastically. As I'm sure active subscriptions are too.
CCP has always told us "hey are numbers are groing" and made that info readily available.
I'm personally curious how many active subscriptions they have at this time. I bet it's under 35k.

I think its becouse EVE is making more money than it needs, to keep running as it is now. That extra is used to start on another game. EVE is the reason they could consider creating a new game, doupt they would in any way take less care of EVE. Just what i think.
And they also said in the interview that they were heading for 100k subscribers for EVE. So i expect improvements, tho im taking a break now... just training ;D

I'd take your bet (and take your money). We have over 55k active subscriptions and over 8k trial accounts. So, yes the player base is continuing to grow and expand.

thank you kieron.
Sorry tohave to be that way to get an answer but seems the only way anymore.
Glad to hear it.
but on that same note.
$14.00 a month * 55,000 = $770,000 a month.
Is there any way to see if CCP can hire more people to work out the bug hunting and QA so that we customers get a better working product at patch times?

We're heading a bit off-topic, but please be careful when throwing around figures and estimating profit margins. There is a significant amount of overhead incurred in running a MMOG, things like paying off loans from the early development of the game, rental space and utilities for the staff and servers, staff salaries, external contracts for things like support (game and server), bandwidth, and the list goes on.

I still think Oveur would be great as a fisherman. Either a lazy one sitting with a fishing pole at a river, or a whale hunter that would make Capt Ahab seem like a calm and controlled individual.
