i tought eve is about playing with other players, so why dont let people connect their stuff on a planet to make this boring pseudobrowser game a little bit more attracting? like a corp-depot, planet tradehub, etc. |

It would be nice, esp. for those of us that can or do run PI on multiple accounts, but I don't see stuff like that coming along until maybe DUST514 itself, and even then I'm not so sure...
...you are right that it should be there, in the sense that players can share resource management on production and research as it is at the corporate level, etc. but I dunno... it'd be an awful lot of work and after all the continued growing pains PI users have had to suffer through, I doubt they would even want CCP to tinker with it anymore than they have to.
But that's just me. ...clearly the Ishukone Watch Scorpion is the fifth horseman of the Apocalypse, i.e. the Brown Rider, otherwise known as Poopie. |

Mainly because PI is a shell of what its suppose to be, and was created primarily as a marketing tool for CCP to link Eve and Dust. If you expect any improvements on it that doesn't revolve around Dust interaction, then you might want to give up now. |

And planetary interaction was setup as a player-own income. If players linked their PI, then the revenue would not go to the pilot, but to the corp, taking ISK from player's hands where it might be spent faster, to corp funds, which are spent at a slower rate.
What we do with the PI is a player choice, once it has left the planet.

i always wondered why you cant automate the process of importing and exporting and moving between planets in the same system.
we live in a space ship age, why the hell cant a pay some npc thingy to **** about for me.
pi has to be the worst thing ive experanced ccp adding to the game. CCP-áare full of words and no action. We watch what they do and its nothing but false statements and lies.

I've already covered this in my suggestion about PI.
Player to Player PI connections, cities, group incomes, tax... read the wall of text... you might approve. |

Why the hell would you play a "boring pseudo-browser game?" |

If you look into the test server client with the tri-exporter you will find a model for a "trade station" structure that can be planted on the planet.

Right after seeing a certain awesome trailer I predicted that there will have to be some form of PI that isn't a single-player minigame on the planetside so that DUST's setting would make sense. hopefully PI will get more iteration soon. |

Just like in the months leading up to PI's launch, CCP is too busy with graphics to worry about gameplay. |

Since the changes to PI months ago I've had to scale back my PI activities as I can get far less setup on a planet now than before.
I had 3 planets (Lava, Barren, gas) and could leave the lava and gas generating Consumer electronics and Condensates respectively, then move all to the barren planet which was making Mech parts. This then allowed me to make Robotics and Organic mortar applicators, one OMA every hour cycle.
Now I have had to halve the manufacturing rate of the base materials and can't generate the condensates on the gas planet due to PG limitations and have to export them to a spare factory on the lava planet, so complicating the whole process.
This has further slowed down the manufacturing and complicated the logistics...
As I have an ALT (same corp) and other corp members on the same planet, surely I should be able to route goods via a trade link to them? Currently it's logon, haul from Customs offices to POS's, logoff, logon Alt, repeat.......
there alweays seems to be plenty of CPU left but never enough PG. It's not like my skills are poor either, I'm maxxed out on the relevant PI skills on both toons.
What I'd like to see is a corp owned trade hub of which there could only be one on any planet. any players can link their PI to it (it would replace the launchpad as the tool to get stuff to orbit as well) and could be used to automate the routing of PI commodities between parties.
Whichever corp owned the Hub would be able to set the tax rate for any item passing through. All corps/players on the planet would have to use this port to move items off-world. Dusties would then be used to change ownership of the Hub between sponsoring corps (or basic combat between NPC mercs who were much less effective than Dusties could be hired on a weekly basis to provide security/to claim control).
This would give a mechanism for players to control ownership from within Eve (by having to pay regular merc wage bills) or for Dusties to affect the ownership. Podders would then have more reasons to engage with Dusties and PI would be more rounded and effective.....
just my tuppence..... :)
