If my ship cost more than yours, I should win.

If I worked really hard at the game to acquire an far superior ship that some other scrub who did just enough to get by, then by all rights then I should be able to mop the floor with his ship. It is the same for how things work in RL (real life) so why should the mold be broken now? There is a reason why a Raven Navy Issue is superior in firepower and tank than say some crap Rupture. Mine cost an incredible amount more because it has superior tank and firepower to the Rupture. So now because he went all cheap due to his lack of effort in the game, I can't shoot him? What kind of logic is that?! We all need to band together and let CCP know that we don't want 'welfare' in our game. The universe is cold and harsh so players need to man up and deal with it. Say no to welfare! Poor sad little pirates, -áwhy you so mad?

Here is another analogy for you I have an expensive Porsche GT3 and a Ford Pinto I want to take a group of people to the town which one is going to be more practical for the job (despite being the cheaper option)? You can throw analogies at this all day but bigger / more expensive is not always by default better in real life or Eve.

Say no to welfare! You best be trollin' dude. In fact most ships CAN kill any ship which is less expensive than it - provided that they are fit properly for the task. To use your example, if you want a Raven to blow up a Rupture, then fit your Raven with an AB/MWD, web, point, target painter and a heavy neut. I guarantee you that the Raven will come out on top in a 1v1 engagement. Sure you might have to armor tank your Raven (LAWL), but it will work for the job.

Besides, your Navy Raven can easily hit that Rupture if you're willing to fit smaller launchers (a ship with turrets probably would've made a better analogy, but we work with what we have). It is sensible that firing a titanic weapon is only effective and desirable when shooting at a target that can't easily get out of the way.

Knowing about the latest trend of clueless posters, i'll try to show you the error of your suggestion. Ships are expensive in EVE because they are increasingly specialized in whatever task they perform. The more specialized, the higher the cost. So lets take the Titan for instance. Do you even know what a Titan's intended role is? It is NOT supposed to be an i-win button capable of single-handely demolishing entire fleets. It is supposed to be the ultimate fleet-command ship. That is why it has all those fleet bonuses and the jump-bridge capability. And it does such a good job on that role.. it has such a big strategical value that the ship costs more than any single person should be able to achieve in a life-time of EVE gameplay. Now, lets take a look at the RORQUAL. Do you know what a Rorqual role is? Its role is to act as the ultimate mining fleet-command ship. And it is. It is NOT supposed to be able to MINE on its own, and so it doesn't. If you ever try to mine with a rorqual you will see what i am talking about. It also costs 4 billion ISK but in all-out combat (a role for which this ship was NOT designed) it sucks donkey anus. It can tank a lot, and it can dish out damage (with sentries), but that is not is primary role. Do you see the problem there (i'm not asking you THINK there is a problem. There is one, regardless of your opinion)? The rorqual performs its role admirably, but it sucks at mining even though it is a mining fleet-command ship. The titans, however, perform their own role as a combat fleet-command ship just as admirably however it ALSO performs very well as an all-out combat ship. According to CCP game designers they never intended for players to hoard these like James Bond hoards STD's, so they didn't planned for alliances using dozens (yes, dozens) of Titans in one single engagement. The result? The Titan performs so well at all-out combat that alliances now use them as combat ships in-lieu of using them as fleet-support. And the idea that Titans are pure combat ships are so entrenched in these people minds that they cannot stand the idea of a Titan becoming to direct combat what the Rorqual is to direct mining. So we have people like you who spent a shitload of money on a ship because they wanted an overpriced battleship instead of a strategical support asset, now moaning because CCP seems to have realized the error of their ways (same goes with Super Carriers, btw...). We have a name for your kind. Carebears. We also have a suggestion to you. Harden The F Up.
