I need someone to perform an exorcism on my Raven! I have come to the conclusion that the bedamned machine is possesed after it started taking rather worrying actions of its own accord. The damn thing has developed a penchant for moving in random directions on it's own at full power if you leave it stopped for any lenght of time. My friend is experiencing this too in his Ferox. Is there something the Caldari aren't telling us in the construction of their neural interfaces?
On a serious note has anyone else experienced this annoying and somewhat freaky behaviour?

Edited by: Blind Man on 28/04/2005 20:22:23 you probably just double clicked too fast on a place in space while moving your camera and it went in that direction (\_/) (O.o) (> <) This is Bunny. Copy Bunny into your signature to help him on his way to world domination. |

The click and drag to move the camera has been borked for quite some time. Sometimes it sets a new destination, sometimes it moves the camera, sometimes it does nothing.

I'd have said that too if I hadn't warped to a planet, gone afk while warping and then come back to find a random moving ship. I experimented with that for a bit actually and found it would turn itself in random directions without me touching the mouse at all and head off at full speed.

I found this sometimes happened with a wireless optical mouse...i changed back to a wired optical, and not had the problem since.
If you have wireless, then maybe thats the problem (lots of things can interfere with them, and not just on the same frequencies, image freqs and secondary freqs can be of similar freq to what they use)
If you dont have a wireless mouse, ignore me

Edited by: Samurai Pumpkin on 28/04/2005 21:43:20 I had this problem a while back and the problem was my mouse. While mining my ship would move as though I had double clicked if the cursor was over an area of navigatable space but at the same time it would not select an item in your cargo hold. Let me guess you also get "Can't Navigate While Warping" when your in warp every now and then even though you havent clicked on anything? It seems as though at random when the mouse is going "bad" when using directx applications the mouse will randomly turn a click into a double click as well as adding a doubleclick on navigatable space on it's own. Real pain in the ass. Replacing my Logitech MX500 with a new Logitech MX520 fixed the problem. I had even tried reinstalling Windows and formatting my pc prior to this with no luck.
You need a new mouse bud.
If you dont believe me look on the tech support forum and you should see my post under "Samantha Pumpkin"

Hmmm.....I only get the "can't navigate...." message when entering warp with an active AB running. I'll try the mouse though.

Either tell me where you are at, or Fly on over to Nonni where I am at currently. I'll need you to eject out of your ship so I can get in it and check it out for myself.
I'll kick the evil out of it for you I promise....

Well the only way to end this odd behavior of your ship, is to well, blow it up. Wait now, dont go off half*****ed, and just blow it up. There are ways to do this. 1. Set self destruct 2. stand up on your chair and sing I am a little tea pot 3. spin around. Now if you have not fallen and cant get up, stop the self destruct. 4.If you stop it at 2 secs in the countdown you have to repeat the above... 5.If you stop it after the one second mark...you are in your pod and problems solved. YOU MUST STOP THE COUNTDOWN AT 1 SECOND!!
The author makes no claims to how well this exorcism will work or if the deamons will stay gone. Nor is he held responsable for any self inflicted injurys from falling off of chairs, strains or sprains from singing "I am a little teapot" or smashing of head into monitor when you are not quick enough to stop the countdown at that "1" second mark.....

Edited by: Korben Morat on 29/04/2005 11:19:42 Yep, turned out my mouse was broken. It was registering double click every time I clicked once
The other funny thing that happened to me was that my flatmate's wireless mouse was somehow being picked up by my computer (we have the same wirelessmouse and keyboard model). Lost a Ferox to that one

Well I can safely say it's not my mouse after having used another optical and a ball mouse and still having the same problem. Besides....this effect only happens on EVE, not in any other program or app.

Space gremlins. I see the little creeps scurrying around my cargo hold through the internal security cameras if I watch the neural-feed out of the corner of my brain.
I have to do this every couple of months:
Remove all items and cargo. Make active a shuttle or another ship.
Flood the infested ship with a mist that is 1 part Quafe Ultra to 5 parts Spirits. Use your most banged-up and abused cargo remote to light a plasma torch.

My mouse was getting "connected" to a friends wireless mouse receiver about 10 yards away. While he was looking i turned up the volume on his pc and opened up media player and started playing his mp3 files. All the while he was shouting my computer's gone mad. AI AI AI AI ~
