I thought the other thread was a great idea but between people getting confused over the subject and arguements it sort of got derailed so lets try it again.
Quite simply post the 5 pilots you respect/like most in EVE with some reasons if you wish and leave any other discussion to PM's and other threads.

Agreed, but I'll try anyway! 
In no particular order...
Trooper B99 - Even before he joined my corp I respected the hell out of this guy. Always calm and rational, I've yet to see Trooper make a post or a statement that upset me. The guy always knows just how to say things so that everyone understands his point.
Leafo - Inspirational vids, excellent leadership abilities, awesome combat pilot, total team player. Leafo is the kind of guy that keeps you interested in the game even when you start to burn out. A great friend.
Foyle - Because of all the **** she takes and endures, yet she still finds the will to keep on playing. Love her or hate her, she's been around for a long time and stayed on through things that would have forced many other players to quit and go play WoW or something...
Cyvok - Runs CLS. Now runs a new alliance. I'd quit the game before I had to deal with the amount of pressure this guy must be under every time he logs in.
Viceroy - Bluntly honest and funny at the same time. MASSIVE respect to this player.
Damn... Hast is right... I could post about 15 more.

Theres no way I could name just 5, there are so many, but heres a few, rytir, buddrow (hes *** but we live with it), fowlplaychiken, kabalevsky, seeya, maxsuicide (even if he does wanna kill those poor carebears :(), parmizan (love the singing), cmd woodHOUSE (even though he pesters me all the time), bratzo (he loves the 3598340965680340683 convo's really, he just likes the attention ^^), little bigfood!, gyro duaquin (or however u spell that), yve steel!!, venture people.
Ok my list is a *little* bit to long, and with really bad punctuation, good luck reading it! :)

DB Preacher - long time partner in crime and if we were picking teams for Eve like you'd pick footy teams back in your school days he'd always be one of my first picks. The best guy I know to discuss fleet tactics with, exceedingly rare is the day we're both in a fleet together and after a hurried consultation on tactics we take the wrong approach. Also refreshingly blunt and honest in his outlook on life. One stubborn mofo as well when he's made his mind up 
Cell Satimo - BNC's greatest unsung hero. You won't see him in our fleets, you won't see him posting on the forums much but if ever I have a project, especially a slightly sneaky or devious one, he's always my first choice. Cell's also the guy, along with phase11 (another unsung hero), that brings common sense, sanity and logic to BNC's management team. When we're faced with an issue that requires logical thought, strategic planning and a touch of daring Cell is the guy that puts it all together in a nice neatly packaged proposal.
TWD - how the hell do you kill like that? Respected for his fearsome proficiency at taking any ship and omgwtfbbqing anything that crosses his path.
Molle - for being himself, doesn't require any explanation really.
DigitalCommunist - for the clearest, most concise and well thought out suggestions on what Eve could be.
I could name about 50 more that could all be on that top five list depending on what mood I'm in. Other current names that spring to mind include..
DoctorGonzo, Galavet, Coranor, Alex Capone, Devvon Maelstrom, Grimster, Viceroy, Twaddle, Estarriol, Bizzare, Seleene, Leafo, Boldyn, phase11, Uther (now departed), Lorth (don't know him but I currently have a habit of agreeing with him on the forums), Stan, Blade K'os, Endersgame, DimensionZ, Dianabolic etc etc.....

Seleene- Making a profesion in eve that wasnt meant to exist
Trooper- Exactly the same reasons that seleene gave
Foyle- Never had a problem with her in FOE
Lallente- Funny as hell

I usually never post in these threads but I'll give it a shot now.
In no particular order:
- Sheppard. Great fighter with an attitude Eve community could not survive without.
- JosephX. All around great guy. (Even though he's got a thing for birds)
- Jokull. I have no clue how many times I've killed you mate. But I've never seen anyone with such a spirit. Got to give you credit!
- Liger. Anyone who fought this guy should know why.
- Greenhalf. I used to fly with him in Alcohol Fuelled, and this is one of the best pilots around. Not in game any longer 
I could easily post a never ending list of guys I respect, but my credit goes to all those not so well known guys who's not popular cause they dont post much on forums or dont fly in the "big corporations". Why? thats where you'll find lots of superior figthers.

Supremacy squad
Can't point out single person, all of them just great pilots and very very experienced. Especially Wizard, Ast, Acier, heid, 0mega, Rex and others that i fight with everyday.

i havnt been in 0.0 that long so my list is proberly gonna be seen as being lame by most but oh well here it is.....
SlamD - for being one of the few guys i have met from RA that can hold a decent conversation in local without resorting to smack. (this is a personnal opinion and not meant as a flame)
Jake Sisko - for being the leader of virii.....pure and simple these guys are tough mothers to kill without them owning your ass first.
ApocUK - FSA may not be anywhere near the top alliance in eve.....but he works his ass of for us anyway. we lub u apoc.
Kickass - for being the best vigil tackler ive ever had the mis-fortune to be caught by.
Any member of Burn Eden - the do what they do cause the want to do it.....and they do it bloody well. respect guys.

USS Omaha. Tbh, I dont think there are many more worthy of respect in the game. He curbed Xirtams excesses, and whenever he speaks, it is either with the voice of reason, or just plain laugh out loud humour.

He is a humble loyal player with alot of humor. Doesn't play himself up to be anthing he isn't, and is always careful not to attract attention to himself. His commanding skills are direct, but with alot of respect for others. Just my experience.
