In no particular chronological order:
- Undocking for the first time. My jaw hung open in awe at the graphics.
- The first time I went to warp. My jaw probably hit the floor.
- Noticing the red- and blue-shifts of the warp effect
- Zooming in on a billboard and noticing the image was actually made of little RGB pixels
- Hearing 'Primordial Star Clouds' for the first time. I shut my eyes to listen to it and let my miners overflow the hold on my Imicus.
- Noticing that even the cargo cans in EVE are things of ultra-detailed beauty
- Getting my first cruiser (Thorax)
- Going on my first exploration flight and getting my ass handed to me by a squadron of Angels
- My first PVP. I lost (barely), but the other guy was more annoyed at having to use so many expensive missiles to kill me.
- My first PVP kill, literally yelling 'woohoo!' out loud
- Starting my first corp with real life friends
- Seeing a heavy missile detonation for the first time. John Bishop was blowing away rats at the other side of the belt I was mining, his Widowmakers shook a glass off my desk.
- Joining a Colossus Technologies (great corp with great people)
- Leaving Colossus to create Freedom Technologies with John Bishop, Kulath and Octavius, great friends I've never met in my life, but have played with for over a year
- Starting Warp Drive Active as an experiment with Photoshop, being utterly shocked it's been accepted by the community
- Getting my first battleship (Megathron).
- Heading to 0.0 for the very first time. Anyone who's done it will know how you feel doing that the first time.
- Being involved in my first fleet fight with Curse Alliance, way back when. Organized chaos, but a ton of fun.
- Getting into a major car accident in real life, finding out how great this game's community is by seeing how much supportive evemail came pouring in
- Seeing how special EVE's developers are when they send me the Gallente Homecoming poster with a get-well card signed by the development team. They're truly unequalled in the game industry.
Please feel free to reply and your own favorite moments, as I will when I think of some more. :)

Gotta be my first trip to 0.4. I had no idea whatsoever what I was doing..wandered into a belt to see someone blow up, and another cruiser (I was in my Blackbird) fly away, with some talking in local. Then I hung around for a bit and left..didnt get into any fights...but saw some good ones.
Then there was another time in Jan, hunting NPC rats with a friend. He went to one belt, I went to another. I heard 'F***' over gang chat, warped to him and theres some guy called Mang0o in an apoc. First time id lost a T-rax...at least he didnt get my pod.
I really should get into 0.0 at some point..

My all time favorite. The EVE first 3 months where having a cruiser meant really something and everyone were fighting on frigates.

This is both my greatest and worst moments in the same event. (Back when i was a noob ~2 years ago)
Had just got my hands on my first (but not last) Moa, as this was back in the day i had not rushed it and was able to fit it reasonably well for a bit of combat. A corpie of mine knew a 0.4 where there was a rat spawn near a planet that gave 50k rats (which at the time were pretty big), so off we went hunting.
Eventually my corpie logged and i thought what the hell i'll go kill some myself and make a quick bit of isk before i log, the rats had other ideas, i was promptly warp scrambled and lost my first cruiser. Luckily i was insured and managed to get my corp to build another Moa for me that would be ready when i logged on the next day.
I logged on got my cruiser and thought to myself, time for revenge. So i warped back to where i'd lost my previous Moa.
My new moa was in my possession barely a few hours before i recieved another insurance payout.
One of my other best moments was when a couple of my corpies (CYVOK was one of these) got their first bs's and i was lucky enough to be responsible for hauling all their freshly mined ore (and get ~30%) for my efforts. I was making ~3mil per mining op and had more money than i could possibly use. Seeing my first BS's was amazing as i was barely into cruisers at the time and those things were huge.
I guess those are 2 moments in EVE that sum up 2 years for me. The adrenalin rush of combat, and the sheer size of universe and entities within. =============================================

My first day of EVE, I figured that since I was Amarrian, I should go see Amarr.
I warp through and find myself in the middle of ImpPoc return event, with the Golden Fleet under full assault by minnie suicide squads, and CONCORD in turn firing on them.....
Yeah, about that time I knew my ass was owned. *dreamy sigh*

Winning duels is always fun, though the best times I had were probably these:
- My first PVP session with FoA, 3 days into launch.
- Leaving FoA and creating TAC, later to become TLBC
- Buying our first BS BPO a couple of months into launch
- Splitting up TLBC for m0o
- Killing Grikl's Imperial Apoc
- m0o when we crushed Fountain
- Realizing how friends in this game mean much more than ISK

The moment that sticks out in my mind the most was my first battle after joining MASS. I'd been in some decent sized fleets up in Empire fighting those dirty Minmattar terrorists, but this was just a different league. Literally about 1 or 2 days after joining MASS, CA and SA had one of the largest fleet battles we ever managed in UQ. Local topped 200 at one point if I remember correctly. It was constant warp in, warp out, trying to figure out who the hell was close enough to shoot, or if I was getting shot at, or if we had anyone even leading the gang(s) anymore. Total anarchy, on a grand scale. I don't even remember if there was a "winner" or not, it was just carnage.
It was terrifying, and utterly exhilirating at the same time

Heh I remember that kind of thing - 30 odd jumps to do agent missions in 0.3 - 0.0 space and only realizing a month later what a huge risk it was.
The first few days - mining, fighting, buying my first kestrel and reliving all those warm and fuzzy memories of being a 12 year old transporting narcotics, slaves and firearms across the Elite universe.
Actually, I still get that even 2 years on
Loosing my Kestrel to Mo0 - really upset with them and, at the same time, really chuffed to have found a game that allowed that kind of excitement.
Spending the next couple of months trying to outwit and outmaneuvre Mo0 and others getting past the Mara/Passari (and other) gate camps.
Switching to my alt and getting the character right the second time around.
Joining Nocturnus Angelus (seems so long ago)
Finding a new home in Freelancing Corp after Noan wound down.
The Freelancing day trip to see the Eve Gate.
First real taste of PvP - which is to say actually making it through an hour or two of skirmishing before loosing a ship rather than being spaced within 30 seconds while running away
Realizing the game still has new things to offer I haven't tried yet even after 2 years of playing.

btw, to those saying the eve graphics are great, yes they are, if u only play The Sims, imho, the graphics of this game are very poor

1st would be being part of the Stain Empire high command team during the fall of the Curse Alliance and getting to re-write the public statement we put out the same day.
Especially the ripping off of the Mahatma Ghandi quote -
An eye for eye only ends up making the whole world blind
I dont think i got more then 8 hours sleep in 3 days. Alot of hard work went into making sure things worked out as they did. Which burned a hell of alot of us out from politics entirely. But i wouldnt change the experence for the world.
2nd would be being lead cfs frigate as CA setup their first blockade of CFS space in the first CA vs CFS war. Then getting in EVE Guardian for helping get the first CFS kill of that war (i was that lone vigil pilot)...
3rd helping organise the defence & communications of the 4gq and esoteria mining corridor during the few months after Omega Corp got kicked from Stain and were living in o5y3. Epic times.
Someday i'll write my biography.......i've lived in interesting times...

One thing I will never forget was my first mining trip to 0.4 with my friends about 14 months ago. We had been doing kernite in a 0.5 system and making several hundred thousand isk each every night. So, we got*****y and decided to go for some rare ore : jaspet!
So, we went to this nearby 0.4 system and started mining. Suddenly a NPC spawn appeared : a 40k sansha cruiser and a couple of frigates. The local chat turned quickly into : Run AWAY! AAAAAH ! An NPC CRUISER!
We started warping out, my Punisher was into structure, a friend of mine lost his frigate. So, what warps in, the biggest ship we had ever seen : An Apoc from the Black Guards, launches 10 Ogres and kills the cruiser in no time. We were in awe of this massive ship that just swatted the horrible NPC:s like they were flies. Needless to say, we went back to kernite until we could come back in cruisers and survive the spawns.

Soo many memories :D
- First moment in eve feeling alienated and at awe with it all - Killing a 45k rat in a kestrel with a corp mate - Getting in my first cruiser (stabber) - Exploring eve in a frig with a 1mwd and a 1mnab - Second corp I was in, all the responsibiities, fun and trauma - Moving all my prize possesions about in a hoarder whilst at war and getting podded, thankfully the great peeps at CTEK gave me all my bpo's and bpc's - First time cloaking was introduced before and after jumping, I jumped through the same gate quite a few times - All the patches and amount of people whinning as the game got a bit more challenging - Buying a bs BPC many months ago, still haven't made it . So much to do in this game, still too much fun to be had in frigs, cruisers, destroyers, battle cruisers...

Best time in eve was at the start, First corp had been an industral corp trying to build for a living. Mining in 0.4 from day one.
however we soon grew tired of this hard mining lark and the corp spilt and moved in to fountain at the start. From here my corp of 8 mining Ark and Bis every night, We mined so much we ruffy got 1 BS a night worth of high ends. (lvl1s) we then employed a much larger empire mining corp to mine out low end.
So funny a team of 8 emplying a corp x3 their size to mine for them. Towards the end of our mining days (about 2 weeks) most people had 2 lvl 1 battleships and i finnaly was greedy and got my APOC. it was a sight. We were then going to mine for another week and get everyone ravens but we stopped because we were bored.
Being able to chain rats for hours and hours. With teh spawn getting to the point it was pretty much instant. Only once did i get close to losing my apoc hehe luckly local at that time was great and full of friends.
Then joining evol :) great feeling to be joining something so big.
sadly eves changed alot since my first 6 months :( ---------- ----

Joining the Jove General Ouria and his brothers in a suicide battle against Stain to repay a debt of gratitude to the Jove for helping bring about the Minmatar rebellion.
Flying 37 jumps one way to get a Tristan BPO.
My first PvP kill. It was a member of M3G4 and I was in Oracles first Rupture.
Moving Oracle to Hothomouh(?) in Ammatar space after the highways came in and thinking how cool it was that we rebels were based in Hoth, fighting the ebil empire.
Being part of a total corp money crunch and buying a Tempest BPC the day befor Castor.
Helping form the old CA and being in that awesome battle.
Receiving the heartfelt replies to me rejoining EVE after nine moths of having no CPU. Friends and old enemies alike made me realize EVE has the best community anywhere.
Learning from trial and error how things had changed in 9 months. Hehehe
Wishing EVE a happy second birthday, and many more.

exploring back in the days when you could make money off it and interesting stuff wasnt spammed out on every mission.
finding structures thousands of km away from planets etc and spending hours MWD out to them using directional scans to track them down and bookmark them.
leading my first gang to hunt pirates down in curse (pre CA days).
joining Oracle
being late for the jovian event, racing down, listening to the fight on TS and getting there just in time to see the last of my corp mates being destroyed, then barely making out through the Stain gate blockade. Nerve wracking!
Mortis giving me my 1st battleship for free. Never would haved saved for one on my own - still thankfull mate!
being called as first target in a CA/Stain battle and my house mate turning on Kazaar locking up my connection, coming round in my pod, sans Scorpion.
being chased round amarr space by hordes of CVA popping stray interceptors - hours of fun - though they got me in the end :)
too many more to type.... happy birthday eve!

Edited by: Frost Killer on 05/05/2005 13:33:52 - Well that would be coming back to the game after leaving 2 different times and realizing that this game is leaps and bounds better then any other MMO out there.
- Graphics, I'm amazed even still today of what has been done in this game, can't wait to see what they plan on adding in the future.
- The ammount of professions advailable is incredible, you can do so much in so many area's that it gives freedom, and your truely not limited by a choice you made in the beginning of your eve carrer, you can always do something else (time permiting). I've done nearly all of them in the time that I've played.
- One of my favs was getting After Burner and Warp Drive Activation to lvl 5 free Thx to patchs at the time there was a minor glitch waaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the beginning with my first character.
- Oh ya can't forget ninja mining Ark/Bis In a frigate, in a cruiser, in my early months and in a battleship finally in my middle years

Not one of the best memories, but one that's lasted:
Trying to ninja mine gniess during beta in a frigate, back when asteroid belts were asteriod balls. Burrowing in to find a decent rock, then petitioning cause I couldn't get back out. :P
The one that I think of now as a good memory was when I was heading from zero back to empire with a friend of mine. (My first trip in zero, and my first PvP after a long hiatus.) We were using instas, but for some reason, I had forgotten to turn off my autopilot and warped to 15km from the gate. My buddy and I were on teamspeak, and I was in a moa.
Me: 'Ack, 2 crows!' Buddy: 'No worries, turn on your microwarp and don't fire back' Me: 'Now they've both got me webbed!' Buddy: 'Stay calm, release your drones...' Me: 'WHAT FRIGGING DRONES, JACKASS?!?!?' Buddy: <pause> 'Ok, I want you to eject...' ---

2. My first acts of piracy in curse, blowing up unsuspecting npc'ers and miners...it was unbelievably fun.
3. Owning battleships with only 2 blackbirds because most people still didn't understand EW...
4. Tanking sentries in molden heath, jamming sentries in molden heath, and eventually blowing up sentries in molden heath...good times.
5. Trying to fly through empire with a -9.9 sec status, making it halfway through only to get ganked by concord at a jump in point...Concord was to blame for teaching pirates about camping jump in points.
6. Losing my first battleship, a scorpion, to a high speed tempest because the crappy corp I was in was too cheap to give me cruise missles...
7. Large fights in battleships that were all traveling over well over 2km/s.
8. Blowing up battleships solo in a high speed moa.
9. Getting all the ammo/missle BPC's for free because some guy was dumb enough to deliver to curse
10. Raising hell in EC-P8R in frigates becuase i was too poor to purchase anything else...and then realizing that they were actually good. The manual orbit days were intense.
11. Flying a high speed suicide apoc to tackle enemies in fleet combat during the PA war.
12. Safespot Busting. This was one of my favorite times in EVE. Few people could do it effectively, and the money was rolling in. Most notable was stealing Jade Constantines sniper scorp in EC-P8R, only to lose it before I bought insurance because it was so fun sniping... it was also tons of fun to sit in people's safespots in their own battleships and wait for them to come back, and then kill them with their own ship
13. Fighting a war with PIE, for those of you who have fought them, you know this is fun.
14. Taking a 8 man BS fleet to break through a 60+ BS blockade, complete with mobile warp disruptors, in order to get back to our poorly defended POS just in time to fight off the attackers as they pushed the shield levels below 25%.
15. Making just under 1 billion isk for blowing up 1 ferox in Pure Blind

buying the game and prima strat guide. i was coming off deployment and couldnt play the game for a whole month after release but i read that guide front to back. and read Colossus Technologies corp add in it and decided that was the corp for me lol. read about the raven battleships and decided that was my ship of choice . other than that the guide was useless.
seeing the first corp battleship,, it was massive a megathron. my ibis was so small in comparison.
the time i spent all night with henry hager mining for my first merlin,, and that bastard merl timmer stole our fricken ore.
my first moa... thanks Deeco
the first rat hunt/training session in my new moa. thanks to Deeco Verble and Dragon heart.
all the hunting gangs me and 3names had together.
the newb Winterblink and his fasination with my heavy missles. we later became good freinds and now torment one another for the hell of it.
running around with trip lif afterburners on my kestral bumping solo miners out of belts
my first scorpian.. man it was a killer
killing a player pirate for the first time. teach you to mess with my m8s
being able to go through m0o blockades becuase my mentors Deeco Dragonheart, and Verble told their corp not to kill me lol
ill stop for now but those are among my best memories of the first 6 months ingame

- Joining my first corp and whent out mining with 2 of them finding 1 in a BS. WOW he was frickin biiiiiiiiiig. And all those lasers .... *droool*
- The work i put into mining for my very first Apoc, took me 3 months but damn it felt good when i could fly it. Was during that time noobs didnt get everything handed to them.
- My first PVP exp in The Great Northen War. The feeling when you get the first killmail \o/ \o/
- As the first poster wrote. The first time entering 0.0 .. jeeez talk about adrenaline those 40 jumps from Emp to Tpar.
- Losing my first precious Apoc to stupid rats.
- Joining R-K where i got to know alot of great ppl who taught me alot about pvp.
- Realizing just how much feelings you put into the game. A very dear ingame friend died irl. Devastating
- The social part of the game has to be the best though. All those you get to know and love. You know who you are
- Knowing that you treat your frickin char better then yourself irl. And feeling that you will never be able to kill your char considering how much time, effort, feelings and money you put into her. Also leaving everyone behind
And i can continue .... on and on and on ...

My first memory is making Danks... okay it was a bit hazy because I was hammered I spent a lot of time actually reading the tutorial, coming from E&B I was expecting a very hostile universe. The next day I get home from work and I get the info on where to join up with CLS. One of my alltime favorite memories is flying 12 jumps in my Ibis to the CLS office where i signed up. Once I was in I got convo'd by some guy in the corp (can't remember the name, wish I could) and he gave me money and told me to head out to Bille and pick up the learning skills. Best advice a n00b can get. Then I thought my skills were enough to head to 0.0 and went on a few ops with Xetic against CA. Was the first time I got to hear Waagaa call targets Didn't take too long for me to get bored with Xetic, so I left CLS and Xetic with nothing but the Rifter on my back and a Blackbird. Mined in 0.2 systems (Hemo ftw) while training up skills, etc. Made good cash and got my first BS. Did all of 2 months solo and started to get really bored. I had been following the BDCI killboards since they were at war with CLS while I was still a member. I started to notice a bunch of people from some corp called 'Sharks With Frickin' Laser Beams' on a bunch of killmails. A helluva lot of killmails. Then I see a post from Charity about maybe wanting new members or something. So I send her an evemail and get a convo with all kinds of people that I've seen on killmails, people with neg sec status that I'd run from normally, etc. Low and behold Charity convos me a couple days later and lets me into Sharks! The past 8 months have been nothing but fun and adventure. Those are my memories, sorry to ramble, but lots of fun been had, looking forward to much more

I havent got to see alot og the big things, iveonly been playing since december. But my friends have for the last year or more. I spose my first thought when i think about is eve. Is to smack myself on the head and call myself stupid for not listning to them and god forbid pay a monthly fee to play a game.
I spose my best memory is my first PVP kill. Id set up on a gate going to Manarr and a member of Xetic who we were at war with jumped in in a stabber vs my caracal. I was alone and i was set up to tackle for myself. Once the staber realised he was stuck we got into it, and he got me to structure. But i took him down on my own.
My heart was in my mouth the whole time. I was shaking, and i broke out in a sweat.
All the friends i have met, and corps ive been a part of.
The first time i saw a megathron mining in my n00b system, I was like OMG thats FUSKING HUGE!!! Then asked the owner isnt a waste to mine in a Bship.
the first time i warped to a star. I wanted to cry it was so beautiful.
Fighting with my corp mates on how to make insta's.
the first time i helped a n00b and they said thank you.
Paying 9mil for a shuttle. (while painful i had to laugh)
So far somegood memories

My best moments in Eve...
joining my first corp with a load of old mates from Mankind on my second day in Eve, Fight Club Soap Industries
getting my first battleship, an Armageddon which I gave to my brother when I got my first Apoc
hunting Sansha's npc's in Querious with my brother when we could only fit medium guns on our battleships, getting a spawn that by rights should have killed us both and realising as the last npc went pop that we were both alive.. hilarious
forming Tranquility Drinkers Club as joint CEO with my brother and realising just how many of our friends wanted to come join us
the day we deposed Umlat and Geeklab from trying to be banana republic dictators in the Outer Ring
the day TDC merged into BNC
when we were newbie pvp pilots and took the player conquerable station in C4C with a small BNC fleet
the day we finally conquered Rising Storm Alliance to retake Fade
being voted into the CEO position by the rest of BNC's Directors, if only I'd known!
the whole of the GNW
the day we realised we'd defeated the Fade Union, our second alliance kill in Fade region
the day NSA reached a ceasefire with BoB
the day we moved south out of the north after the end of the GNW

Edited by: sableye on 06/05/2005 05:14:50 it has to me my time in norad and living in 4c, since nroad died (yer Ik now chon are still fighting and doing dam good job) since then I just basically been doing the lv4 grind, planning on going back to 0.0 with up coming missle changes :).
i also guess my fist pod kill which was when I was just a newb lol someone attacked me in high security I did'nt know I was not allowed to kill there pod, got a negatve security status -1.6 or something and vowed I would get bck to positive by killing npc's at that time it was slow going I got back to 0.0 by killing cruisers only and everyone can tell you how hard that is no 750k battleships for me, took about 5 months I think of grining but without that I may never have subscrive das this happen when I was on trial and being negative really piised me off as people seemed toplace bounties on you for random reasons but that aslo led to my next memorable momant.
I was hunting in seyllin and a batteship fleet warped in on me and killed my poor little rax then killed my pod, dam I was nearly in tears as I was jsut killing a 28k bounty cruuiser this was'nt biggest rat I had seen at this point, anyway turns out they though I was a pirate (not suprising I was negative and had a bounty) they give em back there guns and got me to join the corp and I'm still there lol.

Good times. Sarum Prime sure was a great place to be, before they nerfed jump-in point camping. I think I still have Tank's named MWD I looted off his raven from that day, a Y-T8 Overcharged, from back when mwd's were one size. Was actually 4km away from his corpse before someone (apparently it was his alt?) picked it up. It was around that time I had my first pvp encounters (my first kill would come later).
For me?
- my first month. mining was amazing, I felt like I was a real entrepeneur. - the week after that. I made a point to visit every empire region, I had a blast. - my first kills. I went prowling for CRICE in Vale in my breacher, and took down a bestower + pod. That was amazing. After a little while, it was about a week or so before the GNW would begin, my corp dissolved and I decided I'd go up to venal and kill PA in my breacher, ended up taking down 2 or 3 crows, a bestower and another breacher (but his heavy missile killed mine too, ending that expedition). It was then that I learned how much I loved frigate fights, and it also gave me a good reason to join the GNW on the side of the NCA. - and of course the GNW.

For me my favourite moments are mostly based around when I first started playing. I remember joining a month after my 2 RL mates and joining their own corp, we mined for Isogen, went exploring and inevitably got blown up. EVE will never feel the same again as those moments did, the pure uniqueness of it, the music playing in the background - although it is still an immense game. I sometimes turn the music back on, and it brings back the memories of flying my Probe, seeing a Megathron for the first time and asking the pilot of it if I can have a flyby to get a closer look (of which he duly obliged)
I remember getting blown up in combat for the first time, well not combat, more like me wondering WTF is going on then ending up in a pod. I kept that fella in my address book for a year waiting for him to log back on and get some revenge. Sadly he never did!
I remember getting 4 650mm Scouts for my Rupture and getting blown up NPC hunting, and the feeling it left when I had to revert to standard guns.
The jumping into my hard earned Tempest (weeks of mining Bistot and hauling it 30+ jumps to the nearest station with my 2 mates! Wow that was hard work) Then getting it spanked by the old M3G4 chaps and getting Kudos for æalmostÆ killing one of them lol
It is all the little things which stand out the most for me, things that made you take a step back in awe and realise that this wasnÆt just any old game, things which will never feel the same again. But, when you become part of an organization such as the CA and Shinra or now [5] and we pull things off such as our fleet move from Agil to Curse these new moments will live just like the old ones as very very fond memories..... and of course there is the PVP yarrrrrr

One favourite moment stands out and that was my very very first PvP experience.
It was actually an event. Some actor type was being chased for a bounty on his head. Viceroy and Drunkenmaster were on the chase and so was I.
I didn't know who Viceroy and Drunkenmaster were at that stage apart from 'Space Invaders'. Anyway by talking to the guy being hunted I eventually located the system he was in.
I was in my brand new Omen - My very very first cruiser. Drunkenmaster and Viceroy were hunting for the pilots. They caught up with him and killed the ship - but didn't get the pod.
A few minutes later I struck it lucky and the pod arrived at the moon I was searching. Being a complete noob I was a bit slow ong catching the pod and it warped on structure, just as Viceroy jumped in.
I still have no idea what ship it was but for someone in his very first cruiser who had never PvPed before it looked very scary indeeed. Viceroy started attacking me and amazingly I shot back - which wasn't a good idea as I was getting owned. After a second I realised that I was about to lose my most precious Omen (which has taken WEEKS to earn - boobs now don't appreciate how much easier it is to start now than it was) so tried to warp out - but scrambled.
My arms were shaking my hear was pounding, I felt dizzy. My Omen was in structure - when suddenly it warped. Oh my was I relieved!
I managed to escape the system while Drunkenmaster and Viceroy managed to locate the pod and collect the bounty. I couldn't relax for an hour. By far the most adrenalised fun I have ever had in a game - it hooked me to EVE forever.
One other fun thing which I still chuckle about was a CVA fleet jumping into a gate camp in R3. The enemy had 9 BS sitting at the gate - in their own warp disruptor bubble.
We ended up killing 7 BS, 4 other ships and 9 pods without losing a single ship - all in a mad 5 minutes. It was so funny seeing the pirate pods sitting in their own warp disruptor bubble unable to warp at the end of the fight...

Originally by: Sarkos Being part of a total corp money crunch and buying a Tempest BPC the day befor Castor.
- Ninja mining arkonor in empire. - Running from Concord when warping barely got you 1 AU. - Finding out that a corp mate found the first praetor bpo in a can in deep space. - Taking a suicide trip to see the Eve Gate. Barely made it back alive from the 60+ jump trip. Over half of those jumps were with my ship on fire. - Seeing my ship on fire & trying to see it from every angle. - Being part of the above Tempest BPO purchase. (We kept the original.) - My first PvP kill as a tackler. Now that was a rush.
So many memories. So many lost to the haze of playing late into the night.

Laughing at one of my friends after we signed up as PussyCat destroyed his new merlin (twice) in empire with a sniper tempest. Laughing because he decided to take the quick route while I took the safe route on auto.
Leaving Caldari space to join up with my new corp in amarr space. Trip seemed so long. I was in a foreign land with ships, astroids and stations I haven't seen or heard of before.
Using EVE-Radio to get one of my close friends to sign up.
Waking up early in the morning so I could run down to my lab in < 0.4
Seeing my first battleship up close and in awe at the shield hardeners.
Getting my first cruiser when I felt I could pilot it right, then getting my first battleship.
NPC hunting in providence with a moa to buy myself a maller for mining.
Seeing a few eve forum celebrities in local and resisting the temptation of asking for an autograph.
My first corp war and my surprise at just how well we did.
Deciding my first battleship (scorpion) couldn't really help out people so mining myself into an apocalypse (that I still use) to help the new members of the corp with mining.
The fleet battle which claimed the life of my first battleship (scorpion) we were out numbered and just felt like being suicidal. When we warped in, two of our pilots dropped (crashed to desktop) and we still killed two hostile battleships and forcing the rest of them to warp off.
Being respected by both my corp members and my friends ingame.I don't know why but they ask for my advice.
My friends being drunk on ts, its just funny.
When we rounded too many corp members who could fly a malediction and had a race to the eve-gate.

from RagnarH:
Asking for help the day I started eve, meeting Grim Assasin, and then he passed me to philtanis, wich I call my mentor still nowadays, he was the man that tough me everything in the beginning.
Joining MM (Mental Maniacs) and mine for the first time with them....then proceeding to take the hardest decision I ever took, buy Rifter or Hoarder, I took the rifter and then later bought the hoarder.
When I left MM it was hard, but I left for corp wich was controlled by former friend.
Then many corp came, untill The Collective came. Me and 2 other newbies in corp were made hauling 80m trit in empire, not knowing we had empire war with ATUK. I got killed 3 times flying afk .
Then all COL members were called to Stain....OMG OMG OMG, going to Stain, the region were the uber pvp'ers were, were the cool ppl were, were THE action was.
My first pvp action, shooting at poxie in my stabber. That was the night me and trigger got buddies. I chatted for long time with him.
First time I got BS (phoon) handed over by Infinity, and chaining 50k rats in that phoon was hell of a time.
Meeting all my friends, and I have like 5 RL friends now wich I meet occasionlly.
plus all trhe other things, hearing the sounds, first kills, starting corp, ACCTUALLY LEARNING TO USE THE SKILLS :D

Went rat chaining in deep 0.0 Venal space with my original character when part of InfiniCorp.
CEO of Space Invaders had a spy in our corp chat, Nistalka, found out where Mixmaster I, and a few others were chaining. Setec flew all of Space Invaders out to Venal to gank us.
They got one Moa, but the Scorpion, my Moa and a few other ships escaped the attack.
I laughed as I blew past about 6 SI gate camps on the way home, smacking them in local the whole time. Had the new fangled MWD on my Moa, and was able to activate it while in warp, no insta's required. Setec warned me that someday SI would get me, I'm still waiting...
I also have fond memories of Beta, and just the first experiences with EVE, good memories... ------------------------------------------------ Current Hobby other than EVE |
