I am quoting from a different thread as it is evident there is a lack of understanding regarding how Concord is being exploited at this point in time.
"It is INTENDED game mechanics that a -10 player can enter highsec if he choses. He has to suffer the fact that anyone and everyone can shoot him, and the faction police will spawn within about 3 seconds, wherever he goes.
Where is the exploit? Did he a) Find a way to stop you pointing his ship? b) Find a way to stop you shooting his ship? c) Find a way to stop CONCORD from destroying his ship? d) Find a way to evade the faction police indefinitely?
Please post the exact exploit, please.
Them being a "bad man" is not an exploit, FYI."
The exploit is attracting Concord to a location away from where they are not wanted, in other words, to make them take that little bit longer to spawn. It's all very well documented by the "we will stop ice-mining in highsec" plan. Goonswarm have made it very clear how this all works, perhaps to attract a fix to it by CCP.
Saying that I said anything other than me calling it an exploit is just post-padding and fishing for tears which are not there. I said it is an exploit being used, not that you cannot enter Highsec if you have very low sec status, not that you shouldn't be able to kill whoever in highsec. Doing so with impunity, knowing you stand a very good chance of getting away with it cleanly. Clearly that is an exploit.
You can be as bad as you want to be, I never suggested any restrictions on that or anything else. Looking at the way the majority of current ice-miner ganking is being done - it is an exploit.

This is wrong.
All that happens when you move CONCORD away, is you reset them back to their normal respawn time, based on the sec level. You do not extend it past the point where it should be.
What should be ab exploit, is using throwaway alts to "spawn" CONCORD in the first place, to try to force CONCORD reaction times to be shorter than their intended level for the sec status of the system. - "Do not touch anything unnecessarily. Yep... if you pull concord and it kills you, there is no exploit involved. It is one tactic to delay concord. Some miners use this same tactic to pull concord back to ice field. It is no exploit either. It is their counter tactic for goony tactic and is working well as far I've seen.
Remember to clean your wrecks though because spamming excessive amounts of those is an exploit. Also excessive character recycling is a exploit, so rather use same -10sec toon all the time and resupply ships to him with an alt.

Miners use this technique to put concord on grid in the belief it improves their survivability from ganks, which it doesnt, used to be deemed an exploit but has since been confused by inconsistent GM petittion responses to the point it is no longer regarded an exploit and miners happily do so.
Conversely, for a criminal to use this to draw the same Concord out of the belt would require them going GCC anyway so it is simply a criminal being shot for GCC, duh. GÖÑ Haviing your portrait painted here helps INTAKI Disabled Children GÖÑ |

Well then, if miners do it, it's still wrong and if this is true then they truly have brought this down onto themselves. Anyone doing that should be punished, an exploit is an exploit, it doesn't matter who does it or where.

Indeed, example:
Quote:CLEANING UP YOUR OWN CONCORD SPAWN
Cleaning up your own CONCORD spawn, so other people can make their own attack runs, is actually really easy. Dock at the closest station to the belt you just ganked in, then immediately undock in a newbie ship and don't move - simply drift for 30 seconds with your docking immunity. This will pull CONCORD to you, and since you have your docking immunity sentry guns will not kill you before CONCORD gets there. If multiple people participated in a gank, they should all do this at the same time.
Please make sure to clean up your own CONCORD spawns whenever possible: it makes life easier for everyone else and really isn't very difficult.
Quote:CLEARING OTHER PEOPLE'S CONCORD SPAWNS
Sometimes clever pubbies, or lazy goons, will leave a spawn in a belt. You need to get rid of that before you gank, or you'll be instagibbed when you gank (unless you're in a Galtpest).
Concord usually only spawns one fleet per system. Concord, once spawned, will travel from place to place dealing with anything that shoots something they shouldn't. That means you just need to summon CONCORD somewhere else: take a newbieship in an alt and plink something - a GSC, or the staging pos. Just don't do it near faction police or sentry guns, so you don't die before CONCORD gets there.
If two people gank at once, however, there will be two fleets. It appears that the closest spawn is the one that moves: ergo get closer to the spawn you want to move (nearby belt, nearby pos, whatever) than the one you don't, then summon it. If all else fails, use safespots just off-grid. Don't worry about CONCORD being close: they take a flat 6 seconds to warp regardless of distance.

If you run from the police IRL and get completely out of their site for 33-39 seconds (the amount of time you get in a .5 system if you reset concord) you will certainly have resisting arrest added to your charge. You are certainly evading them by doing this. Just not successfully.
However, I believe the way it is worded is implies "successfully evade". In which case it is OK to reset concord, just not avoid the ultimate loss of your ship.

Apostle, who said anyone needs saving ? I posted about the whole Concord thing.
It strikes me how an original text can be made into something other than what was initially written. The Concord thing is an exploit, I do not care about the ganking (sorry, suicide ganking), but trying to highlight the exploit has the suicide gankers up in arms.
Some posters here conveniently and methodically whitewash over posts by making them out to be other then the original intention. Theirs are the tears, as much as they will deny and decry that. They feel the need to stoop to insults in order to look or feel good. It's laughable.
Go ahead and suicide-gank away, kill, maime, destroy, whatever. Just keep it all inside the rules ?

Goon alt detected....Goon tears always good for a laugh. Whining about the miners using your (non)exploit against you...priceless.

Yes it does. The door is a prime example. There is no door. You writing that saying something over and over and over again doesn't make it true, makes it true. It is ALL true!!
Love you too.

Thank you! At Last! A decent explanation without vomit and acid! I humbly stand corrected then, I apologise for my misinformed posts. Truthfully, I did not know the mechanics of it as you have described it. Not one of the replies bothered to outline it as simply and clearly as you have done, might I add - without all the vitrolic which normally follows.
I stand corrected, I apologise for calling it an exploit in the context I posted. Clearly it is not, according to the information you have given me here.
Some miners use this same tactic to pull concord back to ice field. It is no exploit either.[/quote
this doesn't do anything anyway. Concord spawns three new ships for each offender.. and the concord ship already on the grid don't appear to respond. |

I don't see this as an exploit. CCP rules about what an exploit is, so it's not an exploit.
That said ... it's still a trick.
I gank somebody, CONCORD comes and stays. I gank somebody somewhere else in the same system, CONCORD moves and turns up there.
Yep ... it's a trick.
Does it make sense ? Actually not.
Why ?
Because it's "unrealistic" that there is only one batch of CONCORD watching over the system. It would make more sense if they'd "be able to" call reinforcements if too many ganks happen over the course of x hours.
That's my worthless opinion, but at least it makes sense. |

The reason you got treated in the manner you did is because you were blatantly clueless but trying to state facts that didn't exist and hadn't bothered to explain what you were thinking. This means either a.) you are a pompous twit or b.) you were trolling. In either situation, you didn't deserve much more than you got.
