Please CCP, remove character portraits from the channel listings. I have to scroll down loads of pages to see whose online in my corp.

There's an option to do this in the actual chat itself.

He's talking about the list down the right side that shows who's in the room.. He doesnt want to remove it, he wants to see who is in the room without only seeing only a few guys per scroll.

Yea, would be nice if you could remove the portraits but keep the names. Also in the chat window itself it would be nice if you could have only names, simply because the chat window has to be tiny already in Order to not be in the way, and with every single line of chat taking up as much space as 3, because of the picture, once you chat with more then 3 or 4 people you sometimes have to scroll just to see what other people wrote.

How can u tell whoes saying what if the portraits are disabled? It takes the blink of an eye to distinguiah a portrait, wheras it takes alot longer to actualy have to read their char name as well as wot their saying.

Huh? How does having the portait help work out who's saying what? It's not as if their mouths move or anything and if you have sat down and memorized the portraits of all your corp mates then you need a life.
I agree with this but it would be kind of cool if a portrait with a moving mouth could be shown (optionally). -- (Battle hardened miner)

With 200 people around its easier to read the name then it is to render all the pics ---------------------------

without the pictures it would be just like a chat room or instant messenger room.
nothing terribly difficult about keeping up there, it would be the similar format...
list of names of people in the room, and then the actual messages would be "Sender Name> -message-"
wouldn't be my personal favorite, but in a big corp that would be a great way to simplify the list
