Edited by: MutationZ on 11/05/2005 04:36:50 I'm helping a bud improve his from -9.
We are "farming" a 5/10 complex that has battleships on every level. When we look at his increases, a lot of them are a paltry .015% etc even when we have killed 2mill+ ISK ships in the last 15 minutes or so.
So I guess my questions are - 1) Are all 750k+ ISK ships .4% 2) What does a .4% increase mean in the context of his sec status? How many .4% increases would get him to 0?
atm it's looking like we'll be able to buy the Jove empire with bounties received before he visits empire again

1m BSes give .045%. 750ks give .4%. It's a bit faster to concentrate on 750ks.
But yeah, lvl 4 missions or 0.0 space will do you. Figure about 4-5 hours per -1.0 you want to lose if youre hitting a 750k every cycle. Originally by: Famine Aligher'ri Sorry, but sounded like the man was solo. Some people just don't have the isk to risk getting ganked in 0.0 by controled space. You know what 0.0 is? Besides, that the man can't go into empire. So getting way the hell over there to this 0.0 spot might be 70 hops in 0.0. If he looses what ship he has deep in 0.0 what happens then? Pod back to 0.4 security? Die and risk a clone that might **** up? Do you think or are you normaly this dumb?
If youre a pirate and you cant handle hostile 0.0 space, quit EVE. You are an embarrasment. Cruiser rats are worth about 4% the sec increase of a 750k, and for the record, fast talk does not work at all. To get the same bonus from killing one 750k rat, which takes 15m, you'll have to kill more then 20 cruisers - more then 5 hours.
w00t found this but would still love answers on the sums please. At the moment it looks to me like a 2.25 and even a 3.5 mill ISK bs yield less than .4%, thats a bit retarded.

AFAIK, there's no point in killing 6 BS at once if all you want is the sec status rise. You only get a sec rise for the first one you kill. You only get one sec rise every 15 minutes or so, no matter how many NPCs you kill in that time. This is probably a throwback to the days of instaspawn NPC chaining, where you coule easily get a -9 sec status up to 0 in a couple of hours (maybe even less). If you really want to get your sec status up, search for 750k BS. They're bugged at the minute and have been for a long long time. From what I recall from chaining in 0.0
500k BS = 0.035% rise 750k BS = 0.4% rise 1000k BS = 0.045% rise 1500k BS = 0.05% rise.
So I wouldn't petition asking for your 2.25m and 3.5m BS to give a higher sec gain, they'll probably just "fix" the 750k rats to 0.04 which is what they are surely supposed to be.

i was trying to get mine from -2 to -1.9, so i could travel freely, and i was killing everything in sight, and it took ages to get a sec raise, even when killing 1m+ sansha BS in 0.0 space. it took ages. yet spamming a complex 5/10 in 0.2 gets me much better gains

dont know if ne1 can answer this question, but...i have the fast talk skill and am training it to lvl 4 (going for lvl 5 after that)...the thing is....how exactly does it work? does it increase the % u get per NPC kill? or 0.5% sec increase per lvl? or 0.5 sec per lvl? all im noticing now is that the skill isnt doing much _________________________________________ 2005.01.17 22:04:22 combat Chackle [PUSY] perfectly runs from you, wrecking for 1500 cowardice. |

I've had fast talk level 3 for some time. Even trained it up during my period in 0.0 where I did a lot of chaining. I've never noticed any difference in my sec status gains from it. As far as I've ever seen, it does nothing

Edited by: Suladriel on 11/05/2005 12:46:30 Yup, not noticed any help from the Fast Talk skill.
Chaining 750K BS I got from -4.8 to -2.3 in a total of about 20 hours.....not all at the same time mind you.
I still want to get above -2 but got bored hunting NPC LOL.
I did notice there was a 10 minute wait after killing the 750K BS to getting the sec. increase, and then usually another 10 minutes before another one would spawn....I say usually, it wasn't always 10 minutes, sometimes more, sometimes less.

It doesn't increase the amount of security increase you get from rat killing, rather it effects your 'effective' security status.

Stupid thing is, we moved out of 0.0 to a .2 system to do this. Finding 750k rats is a bit of a pain. If I want to NPC I only find cruisers. If I want to mine (rarely) then its all bs spawns.

I'm repairing my sec status atm, find 750k spawn, kill 750k, tank cruisers while 750k respawns, rinse and repeat. Boring as hell, but getting the low sec status was fun. Last time though I think, done this twice so far. I've come to the conculsion that having low sec status is just a pain, and I appologise to all my victims
Funny story: Got in from a party the other night, very very drunk, decided to do a bit of hunting. I couldnt find a decent spawn, so I jumped out of my geddon and into a shuttle i had there. I then proceeded to fly around scouting in the shuttle. My memory goes a little hazy here, but I fell asleep, and stayed asleep for 10 hours. I woke up and eve was still running, I was in a new clone, and my geddon had been stolen

Edited by: Kresh Vladir on 12/05/2005 00:11:56 750k bs's 4tw
and u only get 1 sec bonus every 10 mins
so 3 x 750k bs's every 10 mins 10+10+10 so in 30mins + killing time u can earn 1.2%
so from 9 divded by .4 =22.5 so u would have to kill 23 750k bs's araprt from each other so a minimun of 230 mins so your look at around 4 hrs + killing time so id give u 5 hours if u sit there and chain a 750k spawn + the respawn time so u could be there for 10 hours maybe killing the stuff but u really only need to drop to -1.9 well hope this helps gl
o btw reebo lmfao good story form my old ceo well does this mean ur going back to teh merc buisness or 00 pirating?

The highest security status gain in the game is .4%. It is given by 750k battleships of the various NPC factions, and their corresponding faction spawns (3.5m battleships). The gains from all other battleships are negligable by comparison, meaning that 750ks are the de facto only way to raise your sec status a meaningful amount.
If your only intent is to raise your security status, then you will want to kill one 750k every 15 minutes (the time period is 15m, not 10). Judge this time using your security status tab in the character info window - as soon as you get an increase (it doesnt auto-refresh, you need to keep clicking on the tab), kill another 750k.
You will need to be chaining at least 2 750k battleships, preferably in the same spawn for convienence, but belt-hopping chaining 3+ 750ks in the same system is fine if you cant find a dual 750k. This can be done rather easily with an assault frigate, depending on the NPCs involved. Done properly, chaining NPCs for security status nets 3m an hour, which is roughly the same as a half-decent scordite miner.
The increase itself is done as a percentage, so the lower your sec status is, the faster it will raise. Budget 4-5 hours per -1.0 you want to remove from your sec status, assuming you can rapidly and consistantly find good 750k spawns. 0.0 chaining is highly preferable for this because missions spawn too many 500k battleships to be an efficient use of your time. ------------------------------------------------------------------

like the rest say 750k's are the best. I used to have a -9.0 sec status. So i found a deep 0.0 spot with tonns of belts and sat there chaining every day.
On good days I'd have plenty of 750k spawns on bad days there would be no 750k spawns so expect some days to be really good and some brutal for sec increase.
All in all it takes aprox 12 min for the sec increase to happen so kill a 750k ever 13 min (just watch you sec increas in character info and when you see the next increase kill the next 750k) It took me 3 weeks of hunting to get to 0.0 sec status but i didn't hunt everyday for 5 hours :)
good luck with it, and I hope ccp never changes the 750k sec status otherwise it would take so rediclously long to get back to 0.0 it would be useless to try -----------------------------------------------

I think its the following:
The percentage increase given by the 750K rats is 0.4%.
0.4% of what?
Its 0.4% of the difference between your current sec rating and 10. So if your sec rating is -9.5 the difference is 19.5, and 0.4% of that is 0.078.
10 minutes after the kill, the 0.078 is added to your sec status. This may result in a 0.1 increase in your rating, depending on your true sec status ( In space, Right Click your ship, Pilot, and Edit Member, it will tell your non-rounded sec status)
Your going to need around 13 or so to bring you up to -8.5 With a 0.4% increase every 10 to 13 minutes its gona take about 3 hours. Provided you have a good belt.
The closer to 0 you get the more 750k rats you need. If you sec status is now -2, the difference is 12 , and now 0.4% of that 0.048, meaning that you need just over two kills to bring it up.
A lot of people have told me that Fast Talk imroved its, but I have not found it to make any difference.
Thats my theory anyway :P

Edited by: dosperado on 20/05/2005 09:25:02 Sec Status increase is given out every 13-15 minutes, not 10 minutes.
You get sec increase for the FIRST ship you killed in this time window.
If you reach a sec status of 5.0 then you will only get sec increases occasionally, mainly 0.025% increases. You won't get standing gain for NPC BS's any more.
