This thread is probably stale, but I tried the 6x Blaster and 2x nos fit and ran into some unexpected problems: the big Destroyer doesn't have the turn radius to orbit at high velocity, so I consistently had trouble staying in range when I tried to orbit or fly manually. Using "stay in range" just got me shot up, as the ship would dutifully get into range and park.
In sum, I liked rails on this ship much more. I think the range bonuses are much better suited to longer ranges: an extra 4km on a rail is worth more than an extra 400m on a blaster.

Not my personal setup, but there is a complex runner I know who uses this setup:
8x 150mm Prototype Gauss (i think he uses iridium)
1x Gistii AB
1x Gistii shield Booster
Not sure about lows, probably a MAPC & some mag stabs

That setup was quite capable, but it was worth around 110M, as it also featured 7x 150mm proto rails (iridium) and a Vortex stab. and yes, an MAPC to make it all fit.
flew that until i was in a harpy, now im in an eagle (I love those rails), even my eagle still has a Gistii Small Shield Booster

Cruiser will be much easier.
u cant use cruisers on lvl 2 :)

Having killed a bunch of these with my alt in frigs, I don't think destroyers rule PvP any time soon.
I got pwned by one (out of maybe seven) though, all I know is that guy circled me (probably with an MWD) at range and shot me from about 20km (railguns I assume). But that only worked against my specific short range frig setup.
So my suggestion is this: Ignore destroyers for PvP. Use frigs and pick your battles until you can afford to PvP in a cruiser.
