Grew up in the ****tiest place in the world - Grangetown, Middlesbrough.
Here you could be certain that you would get mugged for sparkly new trainers by smack-chavs. You dont need the news channels if you live in Grangetown. Burned out cars, severe beatings, riots, asylum seekers murdering each other, burgalaries, and drug dealing is rife and all on your doorstep for free.
This isnt limited to grangetown however, the streets of Middlesbrough are littered with 14 yr old prostitutes saying "ere mate, want any business?" and the ever present 40yr old smackhead beggars pestering you "eah kidder, got 20p for a cupa tea or what?".
But for all the place is a complete ****hole, theres one passion about the place. Were all smoggies, and Boro are the best team in the world.
And NO we are not ******* geordie bastards.

S****horpe here.
Technically classed as "the north", mainly cos it's not southern, though it's actually somewhere in the middle, on the east side. About 45 minutes from Leeds.
Anyone else from S****horpe or am I the only one? Convo me in game =)

I work in bars in the city centre. I could get you a few decent venues for free, where were you thinking?
I could probably do Revolution on call lane for free, theres a pub on the outskirts called the crosskeys that is more cask and beer garden than revolutions vodka shot and dance music, dependns on what you guys wanted. Mash up or chill out.

FYI, Sunderland etc isn't North-east UK - it's North-east England... if you want to go to the 'real' North-east you need to be at least north of Dundee

Newcastle, did anyone have a meet btw - if not or maybe again I would suggest a meet in newcastle but I would steer clear of the city centre at the weekend. I would suggest somewhere on the metro network so people don't need to drive etc. How about a pub in maybe wallsend/gateshead......

Its cool to see a good number of people pplaying EVE that live in the area. I myself grew up in Billingham but currently live in Newcastle.
A meet sounds a good idea and I'm all for that. Has anyone organised anything yet??
If not, then I'll just dive in and say "Saturday 27th February, 2pm at the Centurion, Central Station, Newcastle" Ideally placed for anyone who wants to get the train/metro in as well.

Ok, Bite the bullet time. I'm going to see if I can get a venue in Leeds for a local meet.
Be interesting to see exactly who's doing what in Eve locally, put the face to the charID etc.
So...How about a November date say a Fri/Sat eve before we get into the December madness?
Let's set a deadline - 5th November, I'll want numbers by then. Pencil the date of Sat 15th November in your diary for the meet itself ...central Leeds, chilled out bar, not too noisy & good beer!
Open to suggestions, but would suggest it's better to know numbers asap - is it worth reserving a function room etc? (like that's going to be cheap in xmas party season - yes it's that close, don't you love it?)
I'll wait until next Saturday - if no response then fair enough, if enough people are up for it...could be a good night!
Speaking personally I've been doing a bit of dev work in PHP on an eve offline app. - be interesting for me to see what people want from such things. (the likes of Eve wallet, Evemon etc)

I don't know Leeds at all mate, as long as the venue has beer and/or cider that's fine by me. All I know is you come off the M62 onto the M621 into the City Center, turn left at the big roundabout, turn right and there's a big "adult store".
One learns these things being a van driver.

Given the response so far I say lets just name a location as there's probably not going to be enough to justify booking somewhere.
eg The Victoria behind the town hall ("proper" pub with reasonable drinks selection, no Saturday night drunken louts unless I'm in and you can usually hear yourself think i.e hold a conversation without shouting over cr*ppy music)
