We need those couch potatos as long as they are a subscriber, I'm not worried about the AFK guy/gal doing it their way, so they scratch their ass and microwave burritos why fuss, they are just another object in the game thats full of objects, I don't get it why it bothers others to mental anguish to see an AFK'er it's not like everybody chats to every passing ship? I've tried to chat to people and have literally been told to FO and then I tried to eve mail them to just say sorry didn't mean to offend by requesting a simple chat to ask a question about a ship there flying as I was interested in maybe training for one depending on how I may have wanted to fly it only to discover I've been blocked from contact without even being heard out.
Do I get upset, nope just another jerkoff player or could be his corp is run by a CEO who's a jerkoff paranoid afraid of spies getting info.
But no, forcing others who don't wish to interact with others is not a good ideal as it will lead to unsubscribing and hence less money for the people working to build this game for us.

The problem with drone is that you have to use an EXPLOIT (which CCP said is a temporary fix) to make them useful. Imagine having your guns blow up in the middle of the mission, would you like that? Now, maybe I am ignorant of some socio-political issues in EVE, but it would seem to me that if these massive nullsec alliances were destroyed then everyone would go back to shooting each other and it wouldn't feel like a target deprived environment. Theres tons of targets in null, the only folks who ever make that assertion are highsec scrublords who have never been there. I need to go 4 jumps right now to pick up a skillbook but I cant because theres a guy with 2 alts in sabres and a cynabal camping a jumpbridge and a WH gang rolling around my region so i gotta go reship and join the home defense gang. Someone had an awesome idea in another thread (something about nullsec sov mechanics.)
They suggested that systems decrease in truesec over time.
Systems would increase in truesec based on activity in the system.

To boil down the 40 page thread you are ignoring- this is a stealth "nerf hi sec, they make more money than I do" null bear thread. It is NOT more profitable for hi sec dwellers, all it does is attempt to force more targets for null and low sec dwellers. It isn't going to happen. High sec breaks up, high sec dwellers leave the game.
It just means the remainder all move into the couple systems around Jita and don't move. It would tighten up the game, not spread it out.
CCP got rid of superhighways, so the player base moved from Yulai to Jita. You break up high sec, and everyone will move into whatever the biggest island left is.
As I said- you don't like it, suicide about it. Enough suicide ganks, and people leave overpopulated areas. Suicide enough Hulks, they quit flying hulks. Quit looking to CCP to change the box to what YOU want, and start moving the sand yourself.
This has nothing to do with stealth, are you aware that boostin the importance of the regional market above the trade hubs means a better profit opportunity for hi-sec fellas? How is that nerfin hi-sec? Yes, because creating artificial barriers to trade is something that all Real World Economists and Freshmen Taking Macro-Economics 101 recommend as a means of improving a market economy.

Breaking up hi sec could be a good idea if there was content added to make each section of hi sec have it's own unique flavors and rewards.

Honestly, I fail to see how it would change anything in a way that would make you more happy. All it would achieve is create small pockets of the things you don't like, it wouldn't magically change their nature, just their size. Things would settle after some time and life would continue like nothing had happened and the thing you complain about would not have changed at all.
I also get the impression that for you, ships blowing up other ships is the only meaningful multiplayer experience the game has to offer. That's fine, but this is a sandbox game not just a arena, there's much much more to it than that. And yes, even in high-sec. |
