- Mercenary Coalition Statement -
I would like to announce that from this moment onwards, Sharks with Frickin' Laser Beams [FRICK] are renouncing piracy.
In order to celebrate this decision some of the Sharks went on a pirating expedition to celebrate the old times, I can only apologize if you got caught up in the celebrations and hope the hangover wasn't too bad.
For the longest time we have mercilessly stolen the panties of any innocents we could find whilst not on contract, but we have come to realize that we are damaging the client base that we are hoping to develop as mercenaries. Apparently killing people who would pay you to kill someone else is bad for business, I wont pretend to understand the complexities of this, but I'm game to try out new and interesting things.
We will still be the eccentric, panty-stealing haiku-loving Sharks of yore, but from this point forward we are pure Mercenaries.
Finally, please be aware that if any member of Sharks, or the MC in general are the victim of an unprovoked attack, we will retaliate with lethal and somewhat lemony flavoured force.
Regards, Hygelac (CEO) Sharks with Frickin' Laser Beams

To me mercenaries are no better than pirates anyway. They are basically gankers looking for soft targets, they wont engage even fleets.
I never shoot neutrals in 0.0... only war targets, pirates.... and mercenaries (not that i see mercs that often in 0.0, they usually stay in empire with the rest of the carebears).
So honestly dear sharkz.. keep pirating it wont make a damn difference to me, you have no honor in my book either way

Wrong, the mercs engage whenever they see an opportunity to hurt their prey. I saw it in the FOE war, they would often fight outnumbered in fleet engagments, although alot of their kills were ganks ,thats just clever play by MC and noobness by their opponents, at the end of the day if the clients happy who cares how kills are made?

Obviously you have never seen the MC in action, they are one of the most efficient war machines in eve. If you ever underestimate them, you will die.
There are, without a doubt, lots of bad mercenary corps out there which are definitely not worth their money.

This is a great day for the MC - it wasn't an easy decision for the Sharks and they deserve a lot of respect for it.
The majority of responses from the community have been very positive, and rightfully so: the Sharks were extremely dangerous before and even moreso now. To the community: thanks! To the naysayers... meh.
If ECM is an act of aggression, why am I not on kill mails?

Honestly.....its alot harder to take a small number of peeps say 20-30 and go up against the big boys like SE,FA,and the huge PVP alliances and corps that use the dreaded BLOB. MC does it and OMGWTFBBQHLYSHEETPWNS you, they use tactics pioneered by many other classic pvp corps and adapt them to any new changes that come out. So MC 4TW!!!!!!
BTW GL Frick, I WANT CAB AND LEO,I need a pool boy and Apoc washer !
Please stop being a third rate flamer,I am tired of reactivating my account just to kick your ass. |

we have problem to know who is who .. we got a lot of neutrals shooting at us. The best way is to shoot everyting that have a gun (or could have a gun on the ship). Some of us donŠt even go to 0.0 becuse of this problem.

yeah great more easy targets for mc. all that talk about mercenary stuff is just a cover for easy gankings. everybody can do that. the corporation: i had great respect for you as you were valuable allies and brothers in arms in the old omist days. no respect left for you in me. you have no home, nothing to fight for. you even do others dirty work instead of fighting for the bright side of eve.

Agreed. This is a real problem that we are struggling to deal with. We have tried very hard to not shoot "neutrals" only to have these same people come back ten minutes later with friends and try to gank us. It happened again last night a couple of times as well.
Then there is the situation where a known enemy is shooting at you and a "neutral" interceptor shows up less than 10km from you. What do you do? Risk getting scrambled or BBQ the guy?
In combat it only takes a few seconds between keeping or losing your ship. MC pilots struggle with these decisions every day to try to avoid just ganking everything we see as an act of pro-active self-preservation. In light of FRICK's new commitment to the core ideals of the MC, we are taking this policy more seriously than ever.
But it's not always up to us. When we're in small ships with a dozen hostiles in system and a "neutral" Raven warps in on us and niether jumps nor warps out again? I'm sorry, we've had these people open up on us time and time again as soon as the "bad guys" show up. We took more damage from "neutrals" that we didn't shoot at first in our last two contracts than we did from the actual enemy targets.
We are not pirates, not even close. For over a year BDCI & FRICK have played the mercenary role as best as the game mechanic allows. TC and NSN have now joined us and they have to deal with the same things every day.
In short, especially in light of FRICK's announcment, labeling the MC as a whole or even an individual corp as pirates does nothing more than show your complete and total ignorance of how we operate and the pains we take to avoid actually doing what certian people wish to believe.
Thank you to all the positive comments in this thread. We neither claim nor beleive ourselves to be "the best", but we do try. Anything that make the client happy, you know? -

I'm just wondering if this Gilbert dude is a spokesman of the ASCN and as such he wants us to do them the favor of putting the whole of ASCN on -10, because he has certainly made his stance on this matter clear.
So sup ASCN? :) ------------------------------------------ I am a love machine, feeding my fantasy, give me a kiss or three, have fun!
