Firstly (on my main) ive experianced these guys. They are good. Seen TC in action and its scary. Secondly, ive seen FRICK in action in real life. You do not want to mess with them :D

I think no one is more surprised than Hyg that he is now in that role. He didn't want anything to do with it, which probably makes him the best person for the job.

Just to be clear - FRICK are the ones renouncing piracy. The rest of us have been full-time mercs from the start.
As for pirating being more fun? Sorry. I did the pirate thing enough to know it wasn't for me, and I did it in Space Invaders with Viceroy and drunkenmaster back when piracy was not nerfed to all hell and back.
I prefer being a merc because it gives my gameplay a true sense of focus and accomplishment. That's pretty much as simple as it gets.

I wouldn't belive this one because Reikoku ganked me just for fun while I was traveling in 0.0 .. I didn't provoke 'em, I didn't cause trouble .. but yet they ganked me.

Reikoku are not members of the MC. They are part of BoB. This is a FRICK announcement, not a RKK one.
