You need to kill the overseer in the level to get the key. Intoxinated Commander has the key, if its a guristas complex. |

Complex's in 0.0 is little else than Theme parks for the local alliances and end up exclude anyone else basically.

U dont need a pass as such.... for a start all alliance space is warzones so having a pass with an alliance wont really help since their enemy is likly to be in pvp setups around their space more then the people u have with the pass are, i remember the FA ones while CA were camping every system outside yz-lql. Anyway your best finding out about one that isnt so popular thats what i did anyway theres a website with all their locations just keep a keen eye on the area for a day or two using the map see if people are around that area, most likly not so find the closest npc station and its easy peasy.

COSMOS Instances are FUbared for the above reasons mentioned in this post, I play this game purley for the PVE and group play in missions, PVP doesn't interest me.
1. Good ones are Camped by alliance's 2. long respawn on bosses. 3. Ninja looters
Surely having grouped instanced content is better?, this will avoid waiting days/weeks to kill a boss and make a version of the instance only available to your group (for say 1 week/couple of days)
/have more instances in accessble areas would be good as well, make goodloot harder to drop (generally) very much like low-sec/high-sec agents for normal missions. so low sec has its rewards with better loot
Also how about a scoring system based on how much time you have spent in the instance, To make it more likely officer loot will drop. and add loot control to cans so loot cans/items can be rolled for by the group
And having the high end complexes camped and defended by large corporations/alliances makes the harder complexes difficult to get to for a player not interested in PVP.
Make the complexes a challenge don't make it getting to them.

Yesterday the patch notes said Overseer spawn times were being adjusted but it doesn't say that today.

Edited by: Christian Xelas on 31/05/2006 17:25:06 when you have 120K+ subscribers, surely instanced content is the way to go, COSMOS areas are a complete joke.

Well, CCP chooses elitist content over lowering the level of gameplay to the lowest denominator.
I think they are right.
Sure, the post-DT forced respawn on complexes sucks, and is being dealt with by CCP sometime soonish. After that, only the time when the last run was made determines the time of respawn, meaning everyone gets his shot if they care to make the effort.
As for making ti hard to get to complexes instead of making ti hard to do them. I concurr that complexes should be a LOT harder to complete. Even a 10/10 complex is a joke right now, requiring no more then two pilots to go run in near to complete safety (from the npc's). However, since Eve NPC's are unnaturally dumb and not likely to grow a bigger brain anywhere near soon, pve locations in Eve are resources and nothign much more. That means competition, which means the stronger side wins them.
Funny enough that's one of the core values of gameplay design by CCP. Content is yours to take and make, not get handed to you.

THERE ARE NO INSTANCES IN EVE.
He didnt say there were instances in eve he was saying it would be a good idea to add them. Something needs to be done about complex's. Soon as a complex spawns its a big race to the loot and being a player who has not been playing since the beginning im not able to particpate in such a race. For example i came on after downtime at a serpentis 3/10 complex in a thorax thinking i had a good chance of trying the complex. I warp to the complex and realise im not the only one, 5 other people were doing the same. But i thought i'd give it a go anyway and it was looking good i was 1st in, slight rush of adrenaline hadn't got this far before in a complex (everything previous had been destroyed). So i hit the afterburner and headed to the next gate popping frigs as i go. Another guy comes into the complex in a deimos running at silly speeds he pops a structure loots the can and goes threw one of the gates. Now a deimos in a 3/10 complex? overkill just doesnt quite cut it. Why not stop the tech II equivelant ships from coming into the corresponding complex? that way any new player would have a fair chance as any other to the complex runner. Instances would work great but i would think it would need a lot of work to add it into eve. Why not have several locations in a system were the complex is carried out, same way missions are carried out. So 1 person goes threw the gate and gets sent to random location A, next guy in gets set into random location B. Each time he comes back to that complex he always gets sent to the same location untill downtime resets everything. You could set it to a maxium of say 10 location per complex to try and cut down on the number of alts trying to do the complexs and using there characters aas place holders.
Would be nice if complex's could a nice alternative to missions.

He said instances are FUBARed. Therefore by implication he said there are instances in the game.
