I must be the only one with good EVE experience 99% of the time. People are always... I always get this.. or the servers r ****ed again..Acting liek EVE always have problems. I don't know I play about 10 hours a day and rarely have a problem.... so imo with my EVE experience; people whine at the slightest problem... oh noes i have to do something else for a minute or two...

Hmm, maybe I should re-think that...
Reminds me of SWG, everytime I had a day off of work, the SWG servers went kaput...

It's Memorial Day in the USA. That means many players will be on who otherwise would be at work.
CCP would be wise to take note of 3-day weekends in the USA and take care of their servers accordingly.
Like it or not there are a lot of USA eve-maniacs.

The server woes do continue for TQ. The Network Engineer has isolated the problem to a software failure in the load balancing servers and we are looking at updating the software release for the servers ASAP.
In short, the fallover procedure pushes the load from the primary to the secondary, then the primary server gets caught in a reload loop. The reload loop on the primary server then causes issues for the secondary and the servers crash. Panic ensues, frogs fall from the sky, Oveur tears his hair out, the moderators ask for more vacation time and the engineers mash the reset button until TQ is back.
As I said, the underlying issue has been discovered and a fix will be applied as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconveniences caused by the software issues.

The problems after DT were caused by the load on the db servers when everyone was logging in at once. You might have noticed CCP had to go through the whole startup routine as well then.
As Kieron explained, the front-end machines that are handling network connections from clients and distribute those connections deeper into the ccp network were failing. That means the servers actually working for your client were doing fine, it's the machines that distribute the load among those machines that were failing.
So, no, this is not the same thing as last time. Although it seems the load-balancers are giving more trouble then usual the last few months. I wonder what CCP uses, off-the-shelve appliances or some linux boxes tricked out with the right software...
