If Star Wars died after it became mass-marketed, then it died about 2 weeks after it original movie opened. As soon as people realized what a ridiculous hit it was there was C-3PO cereal boxes and Luke Skywalker candy bars and everything. I went to a museum of film culture and saw an entire display on 1970s Star Wars merch. Most of it was far more ridiculous then the stuff today. There was literally "C-3PO Breakfast cereal".
EDIT: According to LiquidGeneration, I'm most like Darth Vader. I suppose that makes sense

Starwars did not die becuase of Hollywood, did hollywood tell Lucas to change Han Solo in the new DVD star wars no. Star Wars Died becuase we did not like Lucas's vision he financed this thing himself hell I bet if had to actually had to listen to some one elses inpute like get a decent dialogue writer it would not of been that bad. I personally did not mind the last three.(do you know there are rumors of a TV series that scares me)
Anyway in the relation to star wars and eve I say this I like eve but never once have I felt part of any story or that belonging to anyone species really makes that much of a difference. There is no evil empire to fight and I wish they would script in some community events like preventing an invasion or something along those lines.
