Krapz	Posted - 2005.06.19 01:07:00 - [1] The 130ish person blob atm in ASCN space is actually a combined group of pods and leftover scrapmetal thx in HUGE part to some Northern guys. Some Northern forces had come down to attack, met up w/ some E-R and friends, and we had ourselvs a nice big knockdown drag-out fleet battle. I lost my ship, and so did many, many, many other ppl. I don't care who won or lost, but I wanted to say thanks for letting us get together for some of the most fun we've had since the CA war. I love the fun, and don't care at all about the stats! It was a honorable battle and woulda been ALOT better if lag was better. NBSI fought till last ship, dunno bout iron though..

Our fraps ppl actually got called as primaries, which was kinda unfortunate, cuz they were down after 5 mins. I got the TS to play on top of it though ;). Lot's of cursing, confusion, and what I affectionatly refer to as "lag speak". And no, we actually had numbers on them, they were DEFINITELY at the disadvantage in many ways IMO. Which is why I wanted to say thx for letting us have the fight! It was a ton of fun. I miss the "old" 20 - 30 minute fleet fights! It was a blast! -- Insert cool graphics sig here --

That was just great fun, and no smack at all (even though i wasnt in local after people told me). Took ages to setup working with E-R and thier friends but im so glad we did it and had the patience. That was the best fleet battle ive been in \o/ Respect to ALL sides. GF!

In short, we had bubbles out on the gate, and 2 fleets at the gate, one @ close range, one at long We brought about 85 - 90 ppl to the fight, good mix of all ships. They had 2 fleets as well, couldn't tell you the mix (lots of tempests though) 1 warped in on our snipers, the other jumped into the bubbles. The lag hosed EVERYBODY at first, we lost all of our main FC's, which definitely helped them out as well. Battle raged for quite some time, and the commitment to the fight was intense. No one wanted to quit, so it was a BLAST! I think it's pretty obvious everyone had fun. -- Insert cool graphics sig here --

Thanks for waiting for my humble vigil . Other then my computer trying to crash (I could feel it, it was polite enough to crash after I returned with a new frig) it was a freakin' blast. Cheers.

pringprang	Posted - 2005.06.19 01:36:00 - [40] Was a great fight. Kinda bummed I got called primary so often though. We had roughly 15-20 extra guys and the advantage of the bubbles. You guys did well to coordinate yourselves, I know its not easy to get two different gangs jumping in to different locations at the same time. We did well for the first couple minutes but our guy calling targets had CTDed as soon as you uncloaked and our backup guys got called as primary fairly often so things got a bit confusing. Our forces were hit pretty hard during the middle part of the battle, thats when I lost my apoc. (Got called as primary 3 times in a row as I tried to jump back in to help and got nailed on the last one). Things settled down and with less people it caused less lag and our guys finished cleaning up at the gate. It was lots of fun. Raced back to get another ship but it was all over by the time I got into system.

Was kinda interesting for me, my targets were long time allies, and our friends were former enemies. Just wish lag would of allowed me to see my ship actually blow up.

I got 1-2 FPS while frapsing, did only get the 5-10 first min of the fight on fraps tho since IRON primaried me pretty early :/ Anyway, thnx for the fight, now i need a new Geddon :) Also think local peaked at almost 140 during the fight.

Lunas Feelgood	Posted - 2005.06.19 01:43:00 - [44] hehe nice here is our story: we wanted a close up fight against you sniping fleet so we position a covert ops right next to sniping ships.. then we warped in thought i was bugged because the screen took like 3min to load. then i started to call primary secondary.. i think 1 min after we warped in i was called primary and went down with a bang and got podded.. our second in command took ower then our third then the next lol until all our commanders was dead.. then i just called a sucide run.. told all my peeps to fight to last man and they did our 13 man bs fleet got killed and most of our tacklers... great fun

The fact that my harpy survived this night is absolutely ridiculous, between accidnetally warping in by myself on a supremacy frigate fleet at 15 and getting away (thk god you guys didnt scram me, i'd have been euchered) to warping in and out of that fleet battle about 6 times, that was awesome, well worth the wait and the trip down. Warp in... can't see anything but the gate and myself for first 30 seconds, then I see ships everywhere. Takes 30s to lock a bs in my frig. BS explodes just as lock finishes. From there it was snapshots. Lock two vigils. 20s lag. Unlag, 1 vigil dead, other 30km away(the one I was shooting). 30s lag. Try to close on remaining vigil. 15s lag. Shields are at half, vigil is gone, try to lock a bs and turn my shield booster on. 40s lag. BS I was locking are warped or dead, at 1/2 armor, shield booster hasn't turned on. 30s lag. Hit warp to safespot about 6 times during the 30 seconds until my "warp to" menu locks up. Unlag at 1/2 structure. Actually fly in a straight line with only my web and a mag stab showing on my modules array. Attempts to activate modules or warp out met with "ship not responding". Lag 30s. Hit warp to safe spot about another 5 times. Unlag in mid-warp in a pod. I think lag was the undoubted winner in this fight.

I'm trying lock and scramble...someone and all the sudden my shield and armor are gone. Then came the fun of waiting to make sure I warped and then seeing I did. But don't worry I was finished elsewhere by a...Merlin...I think. Which is part lag part me going after a pod that took too long to see me and me not wanting to leave until it's dead, while fighting everyones friend lag. At Any rate, like I said before great fun by all. Well, at least for me, I'm assuming based on the posts here that it was had by all.

Every time I locked a target it would take 10-15 seconds for my guns to actually fire. Warping out was scary because I wasn't sure if my ship would respond. It was still fun. I lost an apoc but had a blast.

Darko1107	Posted - 2005.06.19 11:53:00 - [80] Ok. IRON gang had 19 BS's 2 of which were noobvens. Total gang was about 34, we had 1 bc, rest was frig sized ships. E-R/M4Z4/TMPL/etc gang had 14 bs's, 23 in total, rest was frigs. So we had about 57 ships, 33 BS's. The enemy gang had 42-44~ bs's, about 6-7 were 30k from the gate, rest were 90km above it with all support on the gate, they had a fleet of 78~ men. They had 2 med bubbles and 4 small bubbles on the gate we had to jump into. + they had the lag advantage ofcourse though i had NO jump in lag, but I never seem to lag :\. It was basically set up to the other friendly fleet would warp in at uber close range to the sniping ships and attack them, while in warp we would jump in and start ripping them apart from sniping distance. Unfortunatly the majority of our gang lagged when jumping in and the E-R gang was left on thier own for a good while because our pilots were still loading, oops :). But, this did mean that our men could get out of the bubbles because they had time to. Battle raged for ages, all our fleet commanders go killed, but not to early. I dont think we had much chance of winning, but we DEFINATLY made the most of it, we killed so much ****, I THINK we killed about 18-20 bs's and lost around 25 but im not sure. We sat around for 5 hours waiting for the battle, there was no way we were guna go home without a fight, and what a great fight it was :). Once again, GF!

Its always nice when you sit around for 2-3 hours to have a good fight to end the day. :) As to losses vs kills, its still pretty up in the air. So far I have gathered 24 bs kills for ASCN and 11 losses. I am positive we are missing quite a few kills and losses still because the numbers are not adding up. I am hoping we will get a better count later today as those people that logged directly after the fight had not logged back on as of DT. I do however think the kills/losses are irrelevant in light of having such a great fight, so I will not be posting the final numbers. Then look at the after battle footage equinox has in his video (it's in the video forums) and compare that to how many we started with. You can see it wasn't even losses on both sides. Numbers aside was still an awesome battle. -------------------

Both sides did well and it was strange to be allied with E-R, but hats off to you guys for the warp in to close range. Certainly can see why you took the losses you did, but boy did you stand your ground. Very inspiring. As to the question about where was IRON after the middle of fight, that can be summed up as mostly in cloning stations. ASC, good job you set the stage and your disposition of your forces was well done. Certainly caused us some pause, although after 5 hours no way we were leaving without fight. Once the fight started your forces did a good job of warping out and back. Was really fun and I'd love to do it all again. For some dam reason, I lived through the whole fight literally ran my guns out of ammo and my cap. For me lag wasn't too bad till the end when I warped out to warp back in. Crashed to desktop and couldn't reload :( To my fellow IRON pilots all I can say is thanks for the fun and stepping forward when the call came.

What happened was, Iron fleet jumped in from one system into the bubble camp, we WARPED in from within the target system on top of their snipers. A perfectly timed maneuver. Problem was, Iron took along time to actually load up their screen (lag) That means our 20 BS fleet took the full might of ASCN's 45+ BS fleet, with drones out and everything. We were lagged out as well, taking losses and Iron was still waiting to get in the fight. And we STILL got some kills
