Just warped to a planetary district to find out how grids work with things in orbit. (damn curiosity) Would you have to use 'keep at range' to stay over the district? What happens when you hit grid-borders?
Easy answer: Apparently they just stopped every planet with districts from turning. -> problem solved
Is this true or was I just not patient enough? Did those planets really stop turning?

Yes they do. (they turn around their own axis) They never orbited around their central star though.

Ahh, i knew they didnt orbit (it would be to complicated to calculate for the game engine etc is the reason i head) but i never realised they rotated. |

The planets did rotate before and we did stop them. Hopefully someday in the future we can get them rotating again, but as it stands we had to stop them. Game Designer | Team True Grit |

Can you make it so that the sun is always setting/rising?
Then I can take my RL GF for a romantic dinner with the sunset/sunrise as a backdrop.
Only 40 rounds per gun... I hate reloading in the middle!

No danger of burning to death here
In the last 3 years (East Mids) we've had :
a) the coldest winter on record (2010) b) the driest year on record (2011) c) the wettest year on record (2012)
Probably screwed for this year too
Edit - the last time we had a really hot summer was 9 years ago when Eve came out. Incidentally Eve managed to get my Radeon 9800Pro so hot that SMD caps fell off the back - still worked though |

haha, it wasn't just that was it. 2011 started with a mini-drought, and we ended it being 'AT RISK' for more floods, as the ground couldnt take any more.. Wierd, eh?
On topic, i havent checked out the Planets yet. Might have to a bit later when i get back on.
On the subject of orbits, they should, that would be wicked... But make the orbits so large for some planets, that it doesnt go anywhere fast...(Think about 90AU orbits.. ouch) |

Mmmm this was weird :
Summer Showers in East Mids
Golfball hailstones - more summer weather
The rest of the time it just rained - for 62 successive days.
Could be worse, could be in Adelaide where it hit 45C recently with overnight "lows" of 41C |

Proof that CCP likes playing God. And are good at it. Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing. |

Ummm I have the misfortune to live in Leicester (it was OK 25 years ago) and am counting the days until youngest daughter finishes school. Once that happens its house on the market and bye bye East Mids.
I still have safes inside planets/moons. Does this mean I can cause earthquakes to kill dustbunnies |

Sorry but there were technical reasons. CCP Nullarbor has some crazy ideas for what can be done to bring back the rotation. Something along the lines of introducing the first moving grids if you will. That is a long ways off though, so no holding your breath. Game Designer | Team True Grit |

So when the dust bunnies arrive on the planets they're going to find one side perma blasted by the sun into a 700 degree desert and the other side a freezing cold permanight tundra with miles high glaciers covering once populated cities.
