I'll be 72 years old in december (honest truth) but video games keep me young at heart. I'd rather 'gank' something than sit downstairs with the other retired fuddy duddies and drink nine cups of tea whilst chatting pointlessly about cliff richard's latest haircut.
there is something to look 4ward to- loads of game time- at last- cmputer and peace
ow and great that ur playing still

Edited by: Dracorimus on 04/07/2005 13:35:52 Realising that I'm a lot more reserved about certain things compared to my friends.... Liking classical music, and thinking this new stuff is rubbish... Remembering how silly I used to be when I started gaming 10 years ago and insulting everyone that could beat me LOL... Sleeping for an hour after work on the couch
This from an earlier poster rings true also:
* I've begun to shout at kids, and shake my fist at them in a menacing manner when they kick/throw stuff into our garden.
* Thinking garden lighting/water features would be a good idea, and going to the extents of making sure they match the colour of the shed.
* Actually worrying about the garden!
* Not being able to drink as much as I used to
* Wanting to go to quiet pubs, so I can talk to my friends.
* Realising that wanting to pull 18 year olds is a little dirty.
* Having conversations with people about stuff in the 80/90's and realising that they are too young to remember
I'm 26 years old...hehe

I'm 27 but I look much younger (and act much younger too).
Immaturity is the secret to youthful looks, I promise.

A wise man once told me
"Your only as young as the woman you feel"
I was 31, a few months ago I took this mans words to heart and instantly lost 10 years!
But yeah, I felt old when she said "I remember hearing this song 10 years ago in my first weeks in secondary school", I replied .... "I won't tell you what I was doing 10 years ago!"
10 years ago in school ....boi, did that make me feel old! Darwin 4tw

Hmmm, things that make me feel old. *20 year olds posting old threads *18 year old girls who I think should cover themselves up *I like a nice quiet bar (pub for you euro's), alway's did tho *Can't really think of anything else, oh yea not being able to remember as much
Things that make me feel young, you need these more than the old things
*Getting to the beach by 6 am to surf *Watching saturday morning cartoons with my son *Having sex with with my wife atleast 3 times a week *Knowing I have alot more in my future than in my past
I like my fathers reasoning on age, he has 10 grandchildren and can keep up with them all btw. "Getting old isn't that bad, it sure beats the alternative"
I'm only 26 and still can party like a rock star. You "youngens" need to get out and live before you really DO get old. When that happens it's too late and you'll be saying I wish I would've done......when I was younger. Lack of preparation on your part does not constitute greifing on mine |

Edited by: Jean''Marie Balestre on 08/07/2005 02:35:55 what makes me feel old?
being a mature student, and the fact I was in art college the first time, when the rest of the students in my year were in primary school...
and having lecturers in university younger than I am. (well that and the fact that one of them's a cute redhead who's the almost identical to a girl I slept with a few years ago.... )
Friends who I remember having had their 3rd child "not long ago". and then realising the child is now a teenager.
when they have 80's nights on the radio, and people going on about how "retro and Cool" it is, when I'm sitting mumbling about remembering all the music the first time around.
When I have to get up in ther morning, and the crunching sounds from my neck, back, knees and other joints.
the fact I think that getting drunk and wasted on recreational pharmeceuticals is a bad idea nowadays. (the look I got in uni when I did'nt think, and commented "ah, but the <drug name edited> are just not as fun as it was back in 1989" made me feel old, certainly...)
when I realise I say things like "I remember when I was young"
the fact that my MP3 playlist is playing Visage, and I remember when the record was released on 7" single.... cos I bought it.
when I describe Eve as being a 21st Century "Elite" and people ask "what's elite?"
Leet Speak. Gah. Makes me want to bludgeon the "lol uR th3 Suxxorz" brats around the back of the head and kill them for the murder of the english language. (and not kill 'em ingame....)
The fact I can't understand how to answer a mobile phone. or make it work in general.
or understand why people think they're essential. we did'nt need 'em before, after all.
Goths. When I was young, we used to wear leather, rubber and fishnet, and made out clothes ourselves, thought that the Sisters and 'Neph were great, and that Sigue Sigue Sputnik were going to change music. Now, they listen to Slipknot and wear spiked bracelets they buy in any old shop for ú3.99, and call themselves Goths. I remember the punk wars, and we went through it all, and they've never even heard of Bauhaus. bah.
yes, I definately feel old. (particularly when I see minigoths.)
on the plus side, being a mature student means I'm getting to sleep with 19-year olds again ...

Edited by: Uther Doull on 08/07/2005 11:01:39 what makes me feel old * being in the last weeks of graduation pulling 45 hours a week while i was used to go to only half the classes and still making it through college
* realizing i have about 40 years of office to look forward too
* Suddenly realizing the girl next door is actually pretty hot while i still remember her as a preteen
* then realizing that she's actually 6 years younger and that i shouldn't really be thinking 'those' thoughts
* actually agreeing with my father on most points
* going to the wedding of a cousin that's only 2 years older, and after that going to look at the house he just bought...
* thinking ppl in puberty should grow up
* disliking small kids unless they don't make any noise
What makes me feel young
* coming home at 11 am on sunday morning after partying all night
* playing eve with a bunch of guys older then me :P
* my parents thinking that the music i listen too shouldn't be called music
* having to explain how the mobile phone works to my mom
i'm 22

Old goths never died, we just discovered rave during '89 and fried oiur heads at illegal parties :)
plus: - Finding gray pubes, man is that ever nasty :( - Realising that not only is lusting after 18 yr olds now pervy, but that lusting after under 25 yr olds is pervy! - Also in additoin to l33t speak, the advent of text speak makes me want to commit crimes of a seriously violent nature. Especially when used on bulletin boards or emails. You have a keyboard! Use it properly you lazy *******!
lol
Mostly what makes me feel old is my weakening back & eyesight, my intolerence for previously acceptable levels of recreational pharms, and that my little baby brother has graduated from Uni and is most of the way trained to be a lawyer...

Demonstrating for the freshman chemistry labs and realising I think of freshman as 'the kids'. Not fun when some of them are also rather nice.
