Hi. Are the females I see mostly played by females irl? I think that the EVE females are hot and I want to make a female alt, but Im not sure how the EVE community sees this. Lol, idk how many real females really play this game anyway, but I doubt it's as many as I see or even close to it.

If people have a problem with it I'd refer them to a shrink.
It's a picture in a game populated by aliens, it seems silly to worry about the gender of said alien.

LOL, no seriously, I don't think it's a problem, everyone assumes male until proven otherwise anyway. |

I do know a few rl females who play eve, infact it was a female that introduced me to the game in the first place.
Our corp actually has two that are without question real females

Isn't Eve basically a role playing game anyway? Girls can be boys, boys can be girls...

My Girlfriend. Noble One is a real lady, and in Space I've only one person I fear, She who commands me to do the ironing.......... Don't try to be a great man, just be a man and let history make it's own judgements.

There was an interview with one of the devs a while ago where he said around 99% of Eve players are male - space trading/fighting games have a hard time attracting female gamers apparently.
There was one spectacular thread a couple of months ago from a CEO who was so appalled to discover one of the female characters in his corp was being played by a man he kicked him out. But pretty much everyone else seems to have a healthier, more realistic view of things (aswell as enough of a grasp of mathematics not to be surprised that almost every female avatar you meet has a guy behind it).

Who wouldn't wanna be beautiful anyhow? That is the one aspect where women will always have an edge over men. Not even if your homosexuality knows no limit, you can't deny the beauty of the phenomenon that goes under the title "woman", hell, even most women agree to that (I have yet to meet one that doesn't have a crush on or think Angelina Jolie ain't pretty). When Im really bored, I'll sit down with the EVE Character creator and forge the near perfect woman (No such thing as the perfect one) and give her a name. If I ever made an alt (or somehow decided to kill this char) it'd be a female character.
Oh, and please, make an alt. Your male Sebes is depressing to watch.

Maybe if they included cooking and washing skills?....

It's a Well Known Fact researched since roleplaying games started with Dungeons & Dragons that players divide into:
1. The majority, who play their own sex since it doesn't occur to them to do otherwise. 2. A minority, who deliberately sometimes play the opposite sex for various reasons that do not include real life sexual hangups. 3. A smaller minority, that think (2) probably do have real life sexual hangups.
Eve seems to have a higher proportion of (2) and lower of (3) than the average.
Reams could be written about why females are attracted to different games than males. Indeed I gather reams are presently being written by researchers for the big games companies who are keen to turn the other 50% of the population into customers.

Female here .. just started out .. been playing SWG for 2 years and Sacred for several months .. and the only female dominated online game (Sims Online) and ... and .. list goes on. If I see a game that shows promise of business elements I just have to check it out. Considering replacing one of my SWG accounts for this one so testing it out for a while. Im not keen on fighting dominate games but now and then is fine. Now if only they merged the best of this and the best of SWG Id be very happy

I have a female hauler alt that I inherited to my account from a friend who left Eve shortly afterwards.
So I myself had no part in the decision to make that character female - my understanding is that her original creator simply wanted something nicer to look at than another bloke.

EVE is not fighting dominated at all... in terms of play its more about the economy, and even PvP is much more so about the hunt than it is about the fight itself --
