Edited by: Grim Vandal on 04/07/2005 08:53:55 try it out on SISI...
my crow goes sustained 14km/s ...
a cruiser goes over 5km/s sustained ...
my advice: fix asap ... we dont need that crap again...
last note: YES it is fun to fly around that fast (I enjoy it myself on SISI) but hell this would unbalance things again so REMOVE the ability to fit oversized ABs cuz overall the agility changes are FINE!

Are you referring to putting a large AB on a cruiser and a medium AB on a frigate? Because that was supposed to be impossible now. I did see that my Muninn was faster last night on Sisi, but that was with a T2 10mn, and I got about 800m/s or so. A far cry from 5km/s. Where did you get the number 5km/s and with what ship? ------

If its not a CODE mirror of old patches as well then whats the point? Old broken code mixed with new does not equal a test environment. Darwin 4tw

That was a little pointless sarcasm. How come there is always at least one of these answers to every thread?
The guy was pointing out that a previously removed ability in the game has shown back up on the test server and was asking for clarification. He was not saying that the world is coming to an end, that CCP will go out of business for this stupidity and that this is a giant step backwards for all MMORPG's out there. Nothing usefull and constructive to say?

It was not impossible. They had just changed it and nerfed the effect. You could always fit oversized. Probably some change to other aspects denerfed and boosted the effect of oversized abs.

It was never impossible, it just didn't work very well. I've noticed that everything is faster on SiSi, even with the right-sized modules.

I meant it was impossible to go much faster with oversized mods, not impossible to fit them. Sorry Wasn't clear on that because I forgot a sentence since I was being pestered by family when I was typing and I haven't had coffee yet. ------

As far I was aware, it's always been and still is to fit oversized burners/mwd, they just nerfed it so that and oversized mod takes about 3 hours to reach top speed. They also nerfed the use of multiple burners/mwd - this is how the urber speed were achieved before.
So the question is, is the multiple activation and acceleration nerf of oversized mods still in place on the test server. If not, then there is a problem, otherwise there is no issue.

Its not just the oversized stuff, people are getting 5-7km/sec interceptors with MWD's
Apparently its been bug reported (neither ship mass, module thrust/speed boost have changed)

If so (and my claw went up to 5.8km/s on sisi) then so much for the missile 'patch'. Why make missiles faster, with the motive of making them more 'insta damage' if ships can still outrun them, and receive no damage at all if they get hit.
This makes no sense. Hope it's bug or something...

Example:
Megathron, Navigation V, Acceleration Control IV
on TQ: 156m/sec, 405.23m/sec with a 100MN AB II Sisi: 156m/sec, 526.68m/sec with a 100MN AB II
Note AB II Stats:
162% Velocity boost, 150,000,000N thrust (on both TQ & Sisi) Megathron Mass: 152,500,000 Kg with AB active, 102,500,000 without.
It can't be applying the mass increase correctly, even though it is displaying it.

Its's not applying the extra mass correctly.
As far as I can tell, the extra mass (from your ab/mwd) is being applied after the top speed calculations.
Ive reported it, and so have others im sure but...
Have you noticed painters dont affect MWD'ing targets on SISI?
That was reported ~2 weeks ago.
So, dont hold your breath. -------------
