I left just when I thought FoE wasn't doing so well with the 'war against the whole game' thing. I was in PA..
I see that uh.. FoE has like 170 members now, what happened? did they form a new alliance under new leadership?
I'm neutral now so this isn't a flamebait post, I'm just wondering.
This might sound bad, but I remember them telling PA "Oh wow yeah **** with us?! Fine, we don't hate you but we're going to show you just what it's like to screw with the mighty FoE!" then like.. 3 days later they had half the members. Months later they have less then 1/10th?
again I ask, what happened?

They just got overwhelmed by PA/G/IRON and even M3G4/Mercenary coalition & every other merc corp Foyle hired couldnt seem to save them.

FoE couldnt take the pressure from 3 alliances ON THERE DOORSTEP, KIA and Celestial Apoc, all at the same time. Not many alliances could....

Don't put M3G4 in the same catagory as the MC. They aren't mercs. Never were.
Also, we aren't/weren't hired to "save" anyone. We just kill things.

I liked FoE
As many will recall, right after NSN and TC joined the MC back in Feburary our first contract together was against FoE. FoE met us head-on. They had thier fair share of the usual lamers, but nobody in FoE logged and if they safe spotted, it was usually so they could jump in on us ten minutes later. They didn't hide in stations or spam local with useless crap.
Alas, as Darko stated, they did try to take on too much at once, hence their eventual collapse. There are a few FoE corps still out there, carrying on the tradition though.
Regardless, they fought us. In terms of pure numbers, the MC "won" by a large margin, but no one in the MC was gloating. It's still the best war/contract we've ever had.

for teh uber flame bait: F-E, GODS + Celts all ran away from the fight that THEY had started with PA, G and IRON
but FOE just took on more than they could chew from what i saw. They were a great bunch to fight, but as soon as their larger corps started leaving, it was pretty much over

As far as I can tell FoE are regrouping a little. BoS have been flying with them and it's been very enjoyable. Good Pilots and nice people.

Basically FOE bit off more than they could chew, Hupa came back and did his back stabbing routing he's so famous for, foyle got blamed for everything.

For wot its wurth ill tell you it from our point of veiw
We the old school of F-E took a rest from eve and played other games for a wile,the F-E coe still kept us informed of wot was happening,when he said FOE was attacking PA !we was not happy as we had sorted out our ( F-E PA ) probs and were getting on well.
so we returned to EVE posthaste and pulled F-E from FOE ! end of
now you can belive that we did wot ever you want but thems the facts! and yes it was our fault for leaving to play other stuff, (that sucked BTW) WE KNOW ........but after 2 years some times you just need a month off.

I miss foe .. it was so fun to have so many targets until the end when we were blobbed 3:1 nightly .. and as for everybody blaming f-e for a backstab.. there were some internal things that also lead to us leaving (see: vale alliance) but a major thing was that it wasnt any fun when you couldnt fight because you were so goddamn outnumbered.

They may only ahve like 180 members...but those 180 members are currently top of eve-extra and doing pretty good pirating...

Actually we had no say in decisions made in FoE leadership. We did not chose to fight pa/g/iron. All decisions made were those of foyle and C4W3. Our corp was extremly unhappy with the decisions that were being made. FE was in the same boat. So we had to go our seperate ways.
Also I dont see how what we did can be considered backstabbing. Mutany maybe, but not really backstabbing. We felt like we were being taken advantage of so we decided to put the final nail in foyles coffin. |

Yeah FOE is what got me started in pvping. Used to run in daily frig fleets with ballistic void and everyone had a ton of fun. IMHO FOE was kinda like a party that went on a bit too long. Everyone had tons of fun, had a great time, but it kinda carried on a bit too long.

FOE was good for my delivery runs ;) I never delivered more ships and modules during my total gametime than during the FOE wars.
But like you all say it's hard to stand against 3 alliances at the same time no matter the size.

FoE was possibly the most fun I've ever had in Eve. The upside of being at war with everyone is plenty of targets. We kinda overdid it in the end tho :)

Lil off topic, but I really have never understood how a whole big group like that decides to take a vacation from an MMORPG for a bit. Just seems like ... yanno.. I might take a week and binge on GTA or something, but if I played some anarchy or something, I don't think any of my corpies would join me for it But if you got that, good for ya'll.

Celts stayed in vale/geminate, but eventually left due to the nap everything attitude of PA/g/iron that was being forced upon us

F-E has a core of players who are more than an eve corp but a gaming community formed when we made FE the corp in eve, its made up of buds ive personally been with for 2 years. Sometimes we get sick of one game and collectively try other things like lineage and potbs when it comes out

We did not run, we did not start the 3 alliasnce wars, and plz dont put us(f-e and gods) in the same sentence w/ celts.. when they left they were still foyles lil b*** ( they left they joined they left. ) we have many friends in g imp and iron and some in pa. ( why shoot your friends?? ) that is the reason we left.. no back stabbing we just left.

FOE was alot of fun, but it broke our corp apart (shadow squadron) as we had a influx of members who wouldnt fight.
I`ve read alot of posts from FE memebrs stating that they didnt want to fight PA etc, (that may be true) but i remember alot of FE, GODS aswell as everyone else wanting to fight PA.
As i recall the big 3 in FOE were c4, Foyle and Marichek

yea but marichek was never on ( monday night ) thats why ender was the new ceo for the lingest time till he left last week. AND c4 was in iraq or sumthing so it was mostly foyle doing the diplomacy.

FOE was loads of fun, good company in alliance chat and always a good fight around the corner.
I took a short break from eve for like a week or two, come back and my corp had left, just before the whole uber mega blobs went against FOE.

celts had low morale and plans to leave for awhile, but diddnt want to leave during a war. some of the internal bull**** in foe finally pushed us to leave, but we kept fighting by foyle's side after we had left. we just got tired about being critisized for running our own corp ops sometimes, and alot of other bull. we got tired of calling for a alliance op and getting 20 out of 100 in gang, 90% of those in gang were always celts. too many whiners and complainers in foe at the time. however, i can say that foe also had its fair share of great guys, guys who we very enjoyed playing with. im glad corp1 is still carrying on the tradition, as well as the other foe corps. Celtic Anarchy is still in communication with the remaining foe corps on a daily basis, as thats what friends do:)
we arent foe tho, or anyone. we have no + standing people to my knowledge. or hardly any:-p we are mercs, now, and pvpers. screw mining!
and im rambling, because im stoned. bawk!

It's a shame that people still feel the need to ***** and whine about Foyle in this thread. Foyle is a char that served as the diplomatic contact for two of the most hated alliances in the game (CA and FoE). Foyle the person is a great gal and deserves some respect.
Lets all be honest - love her or lothe her - she made the game a fun place to be. So long as Foyle was pulling the strings you knew you would get great fight against guys that wanted to fight you just as much as you wanted to shoot them. I miss those times. Eve is getting dull without the Dark Queen.
