TunDragon and Teddybears will be up top on my list, maybe allso snigg but havent run into them yes but they are probely good..
As for m0o. m0o is dead so it dont deserve to be on that list tbh.
As for all the others, I dunno, jokers, mafia, dna for sure...
Bone Collectors will probely come in right about here.. fought them a few times, and I enjoyed it.
Huff I dunno. never hear anything about em anymore,

Some "pirates" are gankers: some are randomers, some are just pvp corps who pirate on the side

for corps that kill a lot.
Mafia as by the boards, kill a lot but dont ransom much. SNIGG for example, ransom more but kill less. Which isthe pirate corp? Depeneds on how you define pirates

well...on public kill boards i have bad score. does that qualify me as a bad pirate? nope. i don't give a poo(damn filters) about public kill boards, because:
1)we have our own KB
2)i don't post on killmails
and gank or no gank, ransom or no ransom, pirate is by mine definition a person who kills everything that is not green or purple (blue thingie can be very problematic, cuz you can have 3/4 of eve set to +10) and enjoys it. yar
problem = peoples definition of pirate: mine isnt about ppl that gank: it is more like people like you who ransom.. but its fair to say gankers are pirates in some occasions

If it involves no real isk gain, why kill. Hence the ransom. So I don't know how killing anyone who isn't in good standings = pirate. Wont see me ganking a kessie. See me at a gate with a battleship with my girl scanning and me locking the hauler down. Basing ransom off scanning. Yet they say it's dead eh?

On the subject of eve-kills.
Look at the list of all corporations. Death Row inc. Is listed as #9, even without posting a kill for 5 months...(there were a few frigs here and there, and i killed a battleship, or two)

I fail to see why people respect some of the corps you see on the list.
Most of the ones on the list can't do squat at pvp'ing, they just clearly outnumber you, and act like real bad boys. Great work, respect @ you.

I don't think there is a way to tell who is best in anything in EVE, but seeing that most people have respect for what our corp stands shows me that we do the right thing.
I would like to ask anyone to see TDG, Teddybears and BoneCollectors as one unit, we are individual corps but we accomplished everything together.

Wow, Loot got a nomination. Almost all of Loot are on extended leave atm and have been for some time. I don't think most euro's know who we are because we're all Americans. As for my picks of pirate corps (ones that I would join) snig are up there, tho I don't have too much first hand experiance with them. Mafia is a good killing crew, sadly they're all euro's. I alway's wanted to know what it was like to fly with Teddybears or Dark Cartel, but alas I belive they're all euro's as well.

According to most people who post on these forums, we wouldn't fall into the Pirate category, but more of a griefer/ganker category. I think it's funny that we get lambasted for playing smart (i.e we don't easily fall for traps, we don't fight the way other people would want us to fight them, etc), and that we're somehow "n00bs" for that. We do appreciate the props though.
Only one corp I can think of that manages to instill serious fear in us, regardless of whether we have the apparent advantage. No need to mention them, as I'm sure they know who they are and they've already been listed at least once in this list. Props to you guys.

Defination of a pirate:
someone who earns his or her money solely through killing and ransoming, this person/persons or corp will have a low security rating, generally classed as an outlaw to all of EVE, or in a corp's case, the extreeme majority has very low sec status..

I most certainly enjoy the countless Eve-mails I receive condemning me for my "greivous actions". Most enjoyable are the threats that they will scan my IP address and hunt me down at my home. It's suprising how many of those I actually get any given week.
However, Celero is most certainly correct. We're more of a mugger than a pirate. Hit you over the head with a beer bottle and take your wallet/purse. However, if you offer me an insane amount of money to spare your ship I'm most certainly going to concider your offer!

I'll give props to those players that take the time to scan cargo and ask for ransoms, but damn by the time you do that You can pop thier ships and pod them and then split the loot with your mates. I'd rather just gank them and then watch local light up with crazy chats.
If I was going give props out to anyone it would have to be Tank CEO and ASS. If it wasn't for you guys popping my ships in Empire when I first started I never would have figured out that empire gate camping could be so profitable and fun. Thanks guys.

nonono. You don't ransom the ship, that's silly. You blow up the ship, take the loot and THEN ransom the pod. Hopefully the guy has 100 mil in implants so you get the loot and cash

I have to agree that when I think of pirate corp I think of corps like Snigg, Teddybears and Tundragons that ransom people to make isk.
As for who is the best, meh like someone said you can never tell and there is no point even trying, they are all very good at what they do.
PS: pod or post was one of the best things anyone has ever came up with in this game, I tried to get a couple of pods to post on the forums but no luck yet.

TRS formed as invite only, taking the best of what was m0o combined personal friends taken from the rankes of the best PvP corps in EvE. Well I consider us griefer's since we just kill everything that isn't blue...and theres not much blue in our world.
The reason we don't ransom is that in .4-.1 system's it's not the easiest thing to do so we just kill and take your ****.
When I solo though I enjoy a good scanning and ransoming if it's possible, I'm kimaya the friendly "pirate".
I would vote for tundragon personally since when they ransomed my ass they did it styleee....if only loot did 0.0 work :-( Btw Pitt do you want go mine some veld later?

Rem there is no such things as pirates.
But if there were pirates i would have to say ATUF, D-C, TRS, Kr0m, DNA, and Tundragons are only ones worthy of acknowledgement. Rest i really dont know, or i found them to be lame and run.

The most skilled and best equipped ones are DNA imho. Closely followed by TRS and the Teddy/Tun threesome.
Snigg are a generally classy outfit that are pretty good aswell, but I suspect these guys are abit lower on the skilltree generally.

Fair enough...
Our CEO has a tendency to hire new members without requiring extensive PvP experience/skillpoints, and sometimes it hurts our reputation.
Also, most of our guys just want to fight and don't care as much about the odds...meaning we are taking on long odds 90% of the time and lose ships at times because of it.
All in all good assessment though.

Hmm, no offense guys, but most of the corps that are being mentioned here are NOT pirate corps in the true sense. S******dly is one of the only true pirate corps ingame. Now, if you are looking for just pure killers, then The Royal Syndicate are your peeps

Really nice to see people "honor" our gamestyle as additional fun to the game. For FA-members a trip to empire from Fountain would be boring without the challange of having some bloodhounds on their six. No PVE $hit! A Tundragon, Teddybear or Bonecollector spawn!

One of the things about Snigg that I most appreciate is that you don't take yourselves too seriously and seem like people out to have fun regardless of e-peen measuring. Hence in this case "the best" can easily mean the best all round fun corporation not just based on PvP expertise. Congrats to Shamis for building that kind of corp tbh.

The Royal Syndicate(merged with atuf). Great corp fly as one but each member is already an accomplished individual.
Corp1 - Great corp with lots of history. Smaller numbers now but thats when they are at their strongest.
Tundra/teddys - make fd-mlj interesting.

Just from my experience. tbh best pirates threads are pointless, as there are only 4 or 5 corps at present who do it well and everyone already knows them. The others all disappear after a month or 2, or do nothing but sit on gates.
Edit: change that to 7 or 8 corps. I know that Tundragon and Bone Collectors are also good. Just never had any experience of them, and don't want to either :P |

It seems in these 'whos the best' threads, the question that always pops up in my mind is how these corps operate.
Do they gank in huge herd-sized gank fleets?

do they take on long odds and fight in small groups?
I'd consider a top pirate corp as one that ransoms, and/or is very good in small groups (which means they are typically fighting against the odds). Everyone else fights the 'sure to win' fights. To me that seems boring and not requiring any skill.
From all I've read about teddys/tundragon, they fit the bill for current eve corporations. My vote would go to them, jokers, and Armored Assassins for best pirate corp.
My overall 'brass balls award' goes to Shadow of the Ghost. They engaged us on 1v1's, and when we had greater numbers without fear. Even if they lost some ships in those engagements, you gotta respect them for that.

Got to agree that there possible aint 10 pirate corps in eve.
I would have to nominate only two corps. Both which is not active anymore.
Jokers and Space Invaders. This two corps are what the rest of us are trying to be. I bow before their genious ways, and great repurtation.
