All of EVE makes it into one system within 30 minutes = force projection It isn't "poor titan pilot" unless you mean they play EVE poorly.
"terrible titan pilot, who shouldn't and soon will no longer own a titan" might be more appropriate. Those who cannot adapt become victims of Evolugalbugaslugakjlwsdhvbzxd Click for old school EVE Portraits: http://jadeconstantine.web44.net/Maison.htm |

Force Projection is the answer to the simple question: How do I attack?
It can be a very simple answer. It can be a very complicated answer. It can be a very durable answer. It can be a very fragile answer. It can be a very cheap answer. It can be a very expensive answer. It can be a very accurate answer (think: "reliability"). It can be a very inaccurate answer. It can be a very fast answer. It can be a very slow answer, etc., etc., etc.
For instance: artillery vs autocannons . . . Both simple. Both durable. Both cheap. (I think arties are a little cheaper, especially since they are more damage-efficient, versus autocannons, which are time-efficient.) Both are reliable, but that is where their properties are substantially different. In close, autocannons are fairly reliable. They are pretty hard to out-track. At longer range, artillery are more reliable, since they are harder to out-range. If you add in ship-bonuses, skills, webifiers, target painters, tracking computers, etc. you can see that the very simple question has a very complicated answer.
The current debate mostly centers on how fast/slow the force projection answer is. There are other questions, of course, such as "How do I defend?", and those also have a lot of bearing on the debate. |

Actually, many things that apply to RL warefare apply to Eve Online.

"Force Projection" is simply the term people use before going on a "Nerf Titans" rant. Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings? |

Interesting factoid: The internet was designed for the specific purpose of force protection, at the behest of the U.S. military.
It's kind of silly to argue that such terms are meaningless here. "Real" generals decided a long time ago that thinking about this **** and simulating it on computers first was a better idea than getting kids' head blown off. It's hard to say "whelp" after something like that. Much better to whelp your Hurricane and jabber about what you could have done better and understand how that is analogous to "real" war. Plus, it's fun! |

In this context, I believe force projection is the ability to get your numbers into position quickly via Titan jumps/covert portals and jump bridges.
If you're maintaining your sovereignty, you need to be able to drop defence forces against incursions as quickly as possible.
Let's be realistic. Force projection has nothing to do with defending your space in Eve. If it did, you could lower the base jump range on a titan to 1 LY and no one would complain. It has everything to do with being to hot drop everyone, everywhere, for no reason at all.
Defense of your own space...that's a good one. Got any more? The Margin Trading Scam: If you fell for it, it's your own damned fault. Malcanis for CSM 8 |

No. A little corp can certainly stand a chance. What matters is politics. If your intention is to get a foothold in 0.0 and then unleash hell on everyone around you then why exactly should this see a support in the mechanics by cutting everyone's force down? So you need to make friends, being smart , committed and skillful in combat means nothing?
Being smart, comitted, and skillful matters - especially when choosing both your friends and your enemies. Very few wars are actually decided on the battlefield.

Since both Force Projection, or "Power Projection,' and Titan Bridge each deal with mobility,.....

Force Projection is the ability for a state (or in EVE's case, Corporation or alliance) to exert military force, rather quickly, away from home borders/base of operations.
The United States primarily use Aircraft carriers and the CAW (Carrier Air Wing) and Marine Expeditionay Unit (MEU) to exert naval, Land and air power agaist an enemy at a moments notice.
In EVE, they use Titans. "The American Government indoctrination system known as public education has been relentlessly churning out socialists for over 20 years". - TravisWB |

Force projection through titan bridging is CCP`s new way to make your ears BLEED!!
It also helps bring the New Eden map feel as small as... a board game. |
