....no wait, my bad. I was thinking about a whole different game. During sov warfare, yes. The defenders do have to put in a lot of effort. If only CCP would make it so that sov warfare was actually appealing, it'd happen more often. Well, that's the problem. If you start talking about the appealing factor you will automatically get back on the very question why null is so dead, why people in high-sec tend to avoid it, blobs and yada yada yada with all kinds of resulting Baghdad Bob responses from the blob masters.
What I find stupid is that Eve is one of the few games where over 100 people can all work together in a real time battle, yet so much of the player base derides it as "blobs".
Instead of asking about what nullsec players do, a better question is why are people playing one of the most massively multi-player games when they hate working with other people, and even hate other players for working together? |

Just in general, Eve is the only MMO game that I have played that seems to be able to be played semi to fully afk in almost every aspect...almost. Not sure what to think of that fact sometimes. I guess Eve's saving grace is PvP. Supposedly even the Big Blue donut does nothing to ease the immense amount of butthurt on these forums. |

It's true that EVE is rather unique in that it can muster a lot of people together. But it doesn't mean that just because it is possible that it should automatically become the be all and end all solution. Which it more or less currently is. It is not as much about hating people who are working together but rather that you are forced to work with the same group - namely the biggest group - of people to generally get anywhere in null these days.
And of course, say what you want but the fact that a lot of null is rather empty and lots of people avoid null for these very reasons just to name a few still stands strong as ever.

I wish you good luck with those methods in WH's. Now i will agree there are many close to afk activities and it is a shame if you ask me but i'm sure eventually CCP will address some of those issues... Ah who am i kidding. -Death is nothing, but to live defeated and inglorious is to die daily. |

No speculation is needed. I have your answer and I have evidence to back it up.
1. Go into your game. 2. Open your in game internet browser 3. Google "buy isk" 4. See About 14,800,000 results (0.25 seconds)
Now you have your answer.

So you are doing a lot of structure shots out in nullsec? Because that is about the only time you seriously run into "blobs". There really isn't any shortage of small gang or even solo gankers.

When the only things to do are a bit of ratting, or logging out and waiting for a fleet, you probably aren't going to find a lot of players just hanging around. |

They watch high sec'ers actually PLAYING the game and not sitting around waiting, and get jealous.
That's why they all tend to come back to high with their hatred burning and wanting to commit vile crimes against pods, then run back to their safe, protected BLUE space.

Make stuff degrade over time.
Give people things to do.
Imagine that having no rights to go restock guns with ammo or fuel towers or online bits you want without having to be blessed for the work is a big culprit in why people don't have much to do.
It's all locked down and nothing deteriorates over time.
I bet there's structures that have been left to endure the elements for nearly 5 years, which when given some fuel will magically come to life in pristine condition.
This sounds like effort to those with plenty to do already. To someone that has nothing at all they can do but be a meat shield when called on, it will be a sense of purpose --- GÇ£If you think this Universe is bad, you should see some of the others.GÇ¥ GÇò Philip K. **** |

Ok hers some ideas to make 0.0 more exciting, and get players logged on.Make not sure if they would work ect but just an idea 1) CONTROL TOWERS, JBs ect make them capturable.Reduce their EHPso theres less actual grinding, and no RF,once the shield is down, the victorious forces are given an option CAPTURE or DESTROY.Once the option is made then a timer starts ,same time as RF now.The losing forces can now either try and retake the CT or JB ect or allow its destruction / capture by not trying to retake it.The important thing is ownership doesnt change .or it isnt destroyed till the timer runs out.I know its forcing battles in some ways ,but isnt that what most 0.0 players want. If not their leaders 2) Make Black Ops BSs immune to cyrojammers ,so they can actualy jump /bridge into any system its covert ops squadron / gang ,thus allowing for more options for PvP below fleet levals.Like raiding to take out infastructure,as above or to just destroy ships or as prelude to fleet jumping in by taking out the cyrojammer.or using covert cyro. 3) Also 0.0 players really should do more than just PvP,the vast majority of corps seem to be PvP oriantainted ,the alliances should be given incentives to get mining and industrial corps into 0.0 with proper stations and proper industry as in high sec now. Thus giving players more options even if PvP player ,after all a mining fleet would be a great target, and would need protecting ,for which the PvP player is paid a percentage of the mining yeild ,same as miner. .on top of any NPC bounties ,from CONCORD 4) I know GOONS do this ,not sure if its al the time though or how many aliances do it now ??.Alliances pay bounties for hostile ships killed .maybe in their home space to start, but if rich enough like Goons anywhere. For hostile i of course mean any non blue .Perhaps Alliances could do it similar to the bounty system now ie kill a 100 mill BC you get 10%of its worth. So if 3 of you take it out you all get 10 mill. But perhaps only the richest alliances can afford to do this .In which case CCP should be looking at ways to increase income for those without TECH moons |
