Dunno if ruthless means "bad" or not. In the process of pirate suppression we did a few things that we didn't think of as bad only cuz it was against bad ppl, but that certainly were ruthless.
Top of the list would be taking out gate gankers with cov ops and a bait ship loaded with 5X or more warp scrambling power (done this many times). It was always kind of fun to imagine what was going through the mind of the person who thought they could kill the one BS and run away, then find out that not only was the bait BS tanked to hell and back, but it had their 4X-warp-core-stabilized butts locked down for the now-arrived duo (or more) of damage dealers.
On the more amusing side, my m8 St0rmbringer once challenged a low sec pirate to a duel in Ami. The pirate negotiated a bit since there were about 7 of our corp in local and he knew we'd ganked his guys in the past, but he finally agreed to a meeting. By then, however, we'd scouted his ship, so while we knew he was SUPREMELY confident his tech II pulse-geddon would eat St0rmeh's apoc alive, we were quietly ripping EM and thermic hardeners off every gang member who had one and giving them to St0rm.
I'm not sure what the final tally of hardeners was, but St0rm ate that geddon alive without getting much of his armor scratched. On the upside though, the duel was honoured by both sides and since it was "to the death" the guy stayed to be killed and we ended up with his can contents.

I remember the story of someone that wanted to join mOo. The CEO told to the guy (he did have a scorpion):
- give me your scorpion, so i can take a look at your setup.
And he did. And he was fired the minute after. _______________________ Forums DSU |

i stole a load of ore one night while drunk, from a pirate.
The pirate was in M3g4 corp, well known pirates. i was amazed to see him mining in nonni a 0.5 system.
I thought id help out fellow eve citizens and bring about a measure of poetic justice by "liberating" (a lot) of ore from his jetcans and giving the ore to locals.
Seemed funny at the time tho some people werent happy.
I dont condone ore theiving (especially from new players) but i thought in these crcunstances it would be appropriate.

Actually Rasta is a friend and I took over the original Rastas account a while back, altho I am a founding member of burn eden when rasta was around so I remember all the original warring corps/wars.
As for Tyfon blowing up Solapathy, I hadn't heard about that one. The original Sol has not had that account for a long time now. If you are nominating people then tyfon should be on the list too. Him and another member of Imperium Tech got battleships blown up by far the most during our warring days. He was a noble fighter though, always ready for a fight and always put up a good fight regardless.
Good times though, all the warring in and about Gehi over a year ago. _______________________________________________

Similar story with a caracal and a badger a long time ago
dont see how its possible, shouldnt his shieldrecharge fast enough to compensate for 1 berserk?
They let one berserker kill him afaik.. but more drones were used to get him to structure: still took forever. ------------------

while sitting 40k off someone setting up a pos in my alt in a cov ops in 0.0 , I convo them and ask them what they are doing out here. They tell me they are setting up a pos, I inform them that they dont have permission to do so while I am convo'ing my mates.
This corp had somewhere in the neighborhood of 7 iteron 5's full of pos stuff just sitting there and im just sitting there watching them. they decide that it probably isnt a good idea to set up a pos there and start to unanchor the tower.
I tell my mates to hurry as there are only 2 of them and 7 haulers of loot sitting there, my mates show up and kill the 2 ships and we split roughly 750m of pos equipment between us.
I think the guy would have been beter off onlining the pos cause it would have been pretty invincible till dreads come out, but hey I didnt tell him to unanchor I just told him he shouldnt have been there. Zandramus Homeless And Clueless S.A.S

This one time I was going to take a break from EVE for a little while, so I loaded up my cruisers and went nuts on the local law enforcement. It was actually a whole hell of a lot of fun, since it's usually not an engagement you normally go after. I think in total I lost about three or four cruisers (a Thorax, a Caracal, a Celestis, and I forget what the fourth one was).
The whole time a local corp was there and their CEO was screaming at me like I was a total nutjob, going on about how if I didn't want the ships they'd take them.

Edited by: Nyphur on 18/07/2005 17:34:12 Ok. When I first started eve, I was mining in my new thorax and someone was mining with me. All of teh sudden, they warped out without their drones. So I went over and scooped as many as I could before he came back. He said "Aww man, did the rats get my drones?". It was too tempting, I said "yeah, a couple" and buggered off with my new 50k each mining drones. Now that I'm a billionaire I regret doing that.
Another one. There was a POS in a nearby system that was offline with modules anchored. For those that don't know, if you attack it long enough, the modules unanchor for some reason. So I got my corp together to attack it. Two days, 40k medium antimatter charges and 15k torpedos later, I'm contacted by the owner. I explain that it had been abandoned for months and I thought it was up for grabs and that I wanted the moon. He accepted that excuse and I was ****ed off that I'd wasted all that ammo and time getting it to 2/3 shield. So instead of stopping firing, I asked for help from locals and tell them that it's been abandoned. Even though I knew it wasn't abandoned, I tricked people into knocking it down to 1/3 shield anyway. When the owners finally turned up, I just quit and ****ed off a lot of people.
OK, and one time I saw someone had "haevesters" on escrow for 5mil. Since he misspelled it, it didn't show up next to the harvesters on escrow. At the time the price was about 5mil each if you had enough. Intriuiged by the 's' on the end (because if there were even 2 that's a bargain), I checked. Poor guy probabyl typo'd and left off a zero. It was ten of them for 5mil instead of 50mil. 45mil profit. So I took it :).

Was just flying around when i suddenly bumped into a corp battle at the gate of nourvukaiken,2 ravens where pounding on a hac from another corp,i was in a trasher fitted for speed. I waited untill the 2 ravens popped the hac and in my excitement i activated my mwd and blasted off to the loot can from the hac,i noticed that the guys in the ravens where going for it too,but i knew i would be there first,so arrived at the can 5sec's later, the ravens still 20km's away from me opened up the can and.. wOOt.. 5xarbalest heavy,3xpduII,2xcap rechII,1xdomination ab,and some named hardeners. You can understand that i was very happy :) Those other guys didn't even bother to convo me,really,i just warped off and nver heard from it again. Was a nice extra for my wallet :) "El Chingon" |

um does sneaking up on newbie afk miners in 0.8 sec systems and up and popping their roid on them then watching them sit there for another 1-2 hours mining a now non existant asteroid count lol.
Esp in a high end system with kernite (the 10%+ yield one) strip it off with a mining barge move on and leave the afk guys nowhere to be seen. Should make them more careful lol

Just did it last night. =) I went out to mine, and saw that some guy was there in his destroyer (me in my Imicus) and had like 4 insecure jetcans that he was mining into. (Completely stupid in 0.8 space)
So I decided to "help myself" to some of his hard earned ore (because I CAN, and anybody jetcan mining in 0.8 is an idiot, and needs to be "educated.")
He convod me, I ignored him. I came back and did it two more times.
The second time I did it, he locked me. I'm thinking, "What are you gonna do in 0.8?!?!?" I warped out anyway, but just because I had grabbed another load of his ore to refine.
Third time I came back, took another load, the guy's drones attack me. Next thing you know: BOOM! Concord takes him out and I'm laughing with only half my shields missing.
So I took some more of his ore. =) It was good.
What really made it funny is that like about 15 minutes later the guy ended up buying a 57k Cargo Expander from me. He musta been ****ed.

I once fired on a mining probe in Beta 6. Straight after I was filled with remorse and apologised profusely. That was the last time I engaged someone who wasn't a pirate or involved in an alliance war. One of my first experiences of Eve was being market scammed out of 6 hours of work (I was such a kid). It's made me into the scammer hater that I am today.

Had a guy in an old corp I was in (both he and the corp shall remain nameless) who turned out to be a complete pain in the arse. He was forever moaning and trying to get us to do different things etc when we were quite happy as a corp doing our own thing. Finally, after much moaning, he convinced us to join an alliance which we did. Shortly after that, things really started to go downhill - he would jump into alliance management meetings and basically say 'This alliance is crap I dont think its working and you are all carebears... what do you think?' And post on their forums to the same effect. In the end our corp took drastic measures and appointed myself to deal with the alliance on the corps behalf in the hope that we could keep him out of the loop because the alliance was getting seriously ****ed off with us. However it didnt stop him mouthing off. at about this time he started to hassle me daily for a job on the alliance management team.
Finally, no one in the corp was speaking to him and he got the message and left. The last we heard, he had hooked up with an old acquaintance who we all knew. (we also knew that this acquaintance should be avoided like the plague) They had set up their own corps and got involved in POS's. He worked really hard, setting them up, recruiting people into the corps and getting everything ready to produce top end kit when he logged on one day to discover this acquaintance had emptied the corp wallet, shut down all the POS's and moved them and basically stripped the corps of everything it owned. The reason he gave was 'problems with his girlfriend'. Furthermore, 2 weeks later the people he had recruited to the corps all decided they wanted to try PvP and kicked him from the corps he had set up.
I have since heard this is the 5th corps he has set up and ended up leaving. I don't know why he plays the game.

Shot down someone. Scrambled and webbed the pod. Asked for ransom. When he complained about the "high price" (25 mil), I asked him if he had any implants.
The second he said "yes" I podded him. Then I put him on my ignore list and laughed for a good half hour.

I know there will be flame for this from FIX members but w/e.
Couple of months ago, my buddy in a raven and 2 mil sp went out on a op with our old corp but had to leave and just safe spoted in the middle of fix space.
When he loged on, he figured he isnt gonna make the 40 jump trip back to empire w/ no instas, so he just went to their base.
In the course of 2-3 hours, he managed to terrorize FIX and fill up 4-5 pages full of smack talk. The local went from about 5-6 to 40+ as all of the available FIX pvp pilots were hunting him in this one system, (and no, im not over exadurating) however his insaine guerilla tactics prevented him from being caught. he offed over 10 tacklers so the only thing that was left were the battleships and they werent doing enough dmg to kill him before he escaped.
FIX claims he loged off to prevent being scrambled, but he didnt, he just killed the tackler and then warped off.
They just dont want to admit to being anoyed to all hell by this ***hole for 2-3 hours which they couldnt catch and their miners couldnt go back to work cuz no one was able to catch this guy that was just randomly warping in places, all in one system.
The next day there was a team hunting him and they finally got him on his way back to empire space. I have to give props to the interceptor pilots cuz those guys were really good. i was standing beside and watchin both fights.
I dono, i just found this evil and funi that a 2 mil sp char w/ just a raven (all t1 mods too) could cause so much problems for a 700 ppl alliance.

Edited by: Ifni on 18/07/2005 22:05:27 In one of my many little skirmishes I attacked and shot down a new player flying a thorax. this was in 0.0 so I figured he had to have clicked his way throught he warning popups and should have known what was likely to happen.
I then convo'd him and asked for the insurance payout from his newly deceased thorax as ransom. He didn't pay so I podded him.
He was only a week old. Haven't heard from him since. -
