GOOD MORNING NEW EDEEEN!
Actually, I don't know if it's morning where you are, nor do I actually care. Ha I'm kidding, I'd love to know what time it is in your area (yeah not really).
Anyone I forget if this is the place for this or not, so if a mod would kindly move the thread (if necessary) I'd be very happy. Anyway, I last played EVE around about June or July of last year. The last big event that occurred in this game that I remember was the Goon's attack on Jita after the resignation/ban of the Mitanni. Let's just say I was kinda supporting the attack from the sidelines, rooting for the Goons and watching/ reading the propaganda if that gives a decent view of the type of player I was, not among the suicide gankers but kinda liked the idea that they stood for (sorry miners)
Anyway would the wonderful (and I use that term loosely) EVE forum members care to fill me in on what has happened over the course of the past 6 or 7 months regarding...
1. Game updates/changes, I heard retribution came out. What was added/changed, how did the community receive it and why? Were there any other major expansions and if yes could you answer the same questions?
2. Changes in the EVE economy
3. Changes in EVE politics (particularly concerning the major nullsec alliances)
4. Lastly, who are the alleged overpowered and under powered races in EVE? Last time I was here people considered the game to be pretty balanced as it was a few months or so after the hybrid overhaul but I don't know. For all I know something crazy is going on like everyone using Drone Boats all of a sudden.
Anyway, thanks in advance for the feedback, fly safe and see you later, hopefully not as a frozen corpse.

Oh! What has changed in the lore as well. (If anything, CCP kinda stopped caring about lore back when I was playing). |

WTF is "New Edeeen"??? Is that some new nullbear hangout in the Outer Ring, or a new pony thing, or...

I'm not sure if this is the game for that.
I somehow can't visualize an EVE player sourcing information on all that you have asked for the last 6 - 7 months and typing it all up. After all, General Discussion is right here. You can skim through that if you really wanted the information. And the patch notes are over there. That will tell you a lot. Then there are the dev blogs that will tell you what CCP is planning and plotting. What would be in it for the average EVE player and how much ISK would you be willing to part with for somebody to summarise all that information?
In summary though, I'll help you out. Stuff. Lots and lots of stuff. About the only majors I've payed attention to were the ship changes, future directions, James514 and the Wis coming back for another bit of attention pre-Fanfest. EVE Ambulation and Avatars as a separate game - see here |

Lore is moving forward with live events now being used as the basis.
As for game mechanics? Well the primary click this do that is still the same, but all the stats on stuff up to and including what does what has been changed. Enough that you could honestly claim they junked all the old stuff and replaced it with new stuff looking better. Oh and they got rid of the Jukebox. |

Combat has changed. Previously you could improve your chances by risking all you owned, or being more skilled and prepared than your opponents, but this has been removed from the game and been replaced with a "whoever has the most cruisers wins" system. The new system is clearly better as risk and personal skill do not belong in EVE Online, and because you shouldn't challenge authority -- if they have more people than you they are probably correct and you are wrong. - |

Frist of all, welcome back.
1. Economy, well in general, base mineral price increase, which result, expensive tech 1 ships, form average 10mil isk for cruiser to 200+ mil for bs tier 3 clas, worh to mining these days, i quess, or manufacture - profit.
2. Changes in Politics, in general things go worng, two naps coalitions who got control over regions, some of them even decide to pvp eatch other but without sov war (thier rules), its carebear war system where they can lose ships but no sov or tech moons, imagine two big alliances who are at war but they got pact to not invade enemy space or sov, just shooting enemy in arcade mode. EvE isn't game, its style of living. |

I've only just resubbed myself. Most interesting changes are the increased userfriendlyness of the Crimewatch system. I can toggle my status between -don't do anything that'd let players shoot at me -don't do anything that'd let Concord shoot me -do whatever I want
And the Suspect timer/flag seems a lot more clear in terms of who can and can't attack me.
Also there's these mining frigates called Ventures, and they're bloody EVERYWHERE
Things shoot at my drones more.
Red boxes are now red circles, cos why not?

If you can't buy your way to victory and actually have to play with those scary 'other people' to win, can it really be called an MMMO? /sarcasm
Also, I'm pretty sure that a newbie in his only cruiser is risking more than a bittervet in his Cynabal with a ratting ship still safely docked back home. AND I'm pretty sure that coordinating a fleet of said newbies in cruisers takes more skill than flying solo/with only your alts. |

Biggest changes for me when I resubbed was my character avatar was gone and was forced to make a new facade, Wormholes were a thing, titans stopped being grid smart bombs and that I couldnt undock some of my ships due to too many high slots equipped.
As for politics, Im sad i missed BoB collapse, I bet that goon who made songs like Little bee's made a song about that.
And to be somewhat helpful to the OP please oh please read this http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=74234 |
