Tickets have been on sale for 6 weeks. Why would you buy plane tickets and book hotel rooms to attend an event to which you haven't purchased tickets?

Booking airline tickets and hotels does not take 6 weeks.
Holding off on purchasing the tickets that represent the entire reason you're going is pretty surprising. Especially when they don't represent a very large portion of the total price (I'm not going because a plane ticket would cost me something like 3 Grand, but if I were, I'd make damn sure I had a fanfest ticket before dropping that 3 grand on a plane ticket.).

In case you can't figure out what we're getting at: HARPA seems to be the only venue in Reyjkavik able to accommodate 5,000 people. There are no bigger venues.
