I already have a fanfest ticket, but many of my friends and others do not. CCP, you gave hardly if any real warning that tickets were low on quantity (when I logged into EVE tonight I got an advertisement saying 100 were still left). You should do more. I understand Harpa likely has fire safety limits, but maybe it's time to look at adding additional venues or some other option, as to have so many who want to come(some who have already reserved hotel rooms or bought plane tickets) because there was no warning that demand was so high this year (i mean seriously, sold out only 7 days after early bird specials are done?)
Your players deserve more, more so those willing to take the financial commitment to fly out to Iceland to chill with you guys.
If it's a matter of space, how about you guys take the bullet and start axing press badges to let players come instead.
I've been to Fanfest 6 times now, and every time I loved it. Don't break my heart on number 7 CCP.

I know its the 10th Anniversary so that is driving up demand, but anything you can find under your metaphorical couch cushions would be awesome. If its not possible at least I hadn't bought the plane tickets and hotel yet. Those are the ones really screwed here. |

We all knew when fanfest would be. Tickets been on sale awhile. Why you waited so long to finally get around to buying them is beyond me. Ill come up with an excuse for your procrastination on this matter later.

Tickets have been on sale for 6 weeks. Why would you buy plane tickets and book hotel rooms to attend an event to which you haven't purchased tickets?

For those that have bought flight tickets and hotel rooms. Just purchase the online steaming of fanfest, and watch it as you fly in and out and stay at the hotel. Should be a blast!!!!!

People book things as finances allow, I booked FF tickets first because they were cheaper, but in previous years you could buy fanfest tickets at the entrance of the convention, while Airline tickets and hotel prices can shoot the roof if you wait to long.

Because as above previous fanfests you could buy them at the door, and it was a price that wouldn't change. Airline tickets and hotel prices don't have that luxury. |

There definately should of been alot more warning that tickets were getting low. A log in splash screen on the day the tickets sell out is a bit of a joke.
There should of been news feeds and facebook posts over the last week.
(I got my ticket, but also have freinds that were waiting on finances / Work Holiday arrangements to buy theirs)

Lucky enough for me I didn't buy anything as it's just taken 4 weeks for HR to let me know I could have the time off but alas no tickets left and everyone keeps telling me EVE is dying.......
Oh well will have to wait till next year to throw something at Mittani.

Even if they have given more warning on lack of tickets would it have changed anything, all that would happen would be another set of people would complain about the lack of tickets. Harpa can only hold so many people. Is this the first time they sold out?

This is what i've been thinking aswell... If tickets were selling that quickly, a lot more notice may have been in order. There was nothing at all before that splash screen and by the time people were actually seeing it the tickets were gone....
If you do things right, people won't be sure you've done anything at all... |

Sorry for sounding selfish. Last year, I enjoyed that Fanfest did not feel overcrowded. Yet, I could not attend some sessions because the room was too small. If possible, I would rather have the event not getting bloated with players who cannot plan.

Well that is unfortunate. I've been trying to make it for years, and this year it actually looked like I could make it happen. If they start selling out this early I doubt I'll ever get to go unless I quit my job!
Luckily I haven't booked anything yet because I was still awaiting approval from one more person. |
