You'd be better off with a cap booster + 1 large rep over a large aar. Both use 450 cap/ However the aar uses paste while the large rep does not. The aar repairs 450 hp while the regular large rep 800.
Here's a side by side comparison
Large Armor Repairer Large Ancillary Armor Repairer
Rep Amount 800 450
Cap Used 400 400
Paste? Not Needed Needed
As you can see it's quite awful as is. Am I missing something as to why this is great? There just isn't anything intresting on the front page of the GD anymore. Yawn! |

Its repair rate triples when using nanite paste, so instead of 450 armor repaired from a large aar you get 1350 armor repaired in a single cycle. However only when you run out of nanite paste it repairs 450 hitpoints. |

When i've been using it with paste, i've been watching my armor and the math adds up to 450 also it as an auto reload problem. ALSO, when it runs out of paste it instantly stops to reload. There just isn't anything intresting on the front page of the GD anymore. Yawn! |

You can turn autoreload off.
And and AAR reps 225% more then a t1 repper i think.. According to my EFT it works great.
Might be bugged though? |

No; I've been neuted in an AAR Brutix and the AAR promptly failed to cycle once capacitor was down.
Not very helpful, in my opinion, does not address one of the big problems with active tanking. |

So, the main problem with the ASB is that you can't fill your cargo at will as you're quickly limited in terms of cargo space. This is not the case with nanites, and if I understand well you would ALSO have no capacitor cost ? Seriously ?
This is disgusting enough to see that armor tanking is getting a boost while it's the most commonly used tanking style for most alliances, to see that there is no Shield resistance shifter planned while armor is getting it's ASB... So please, before complaining about a module that probably won't be released in retribution 1.1, consider how other tanking mechanisms are working. G££ <= Me |

The ASB is like a combination of a CapBooster and a ShieldBooster. If it runs out of Charges, it loses the Effekt of one Module, in this Case the CapBooster, and needs Energy, even more than a normal ShieldBooster The AAR is like a combination of two ArmorRepairs. If it runs out of Charges, it loses the Effekt of one Module, in this Case the second Repair, and repairs even less.
The whole reason for a AAR is that you have two Modules combined in one, as long as it is charged. Run out of Charges, you lose the advantage and even get a drawback |

Indeed, the module is pretty fail. ASB shield tank, get neuted? No problem. AAR Armor tank, get neuted? Tank shuts off. I can understand there being differences between the modules, but who decided that this was the right call? |

Medium ones are a bit underpowered, but smalls are gonna be really nice with auto-reload off.
Amusingly, lower skills get you more use from these modules, as does not having ganglinks. Both of these things increase cycle time and make AAR better compared to AR. Stealth ganglink nerf ftw? |

I have tested this and AAR's run great. Your wrong and the guy you quoted is right because the boost with nanite paste doesn't register in the fitting window but it boosts pretty well. On sisi I have survived enough battles with it to know how to effectively kill things with it. I am going to enjoy using it in pvp. I love armor taking. ASB's are still not bad too. You just have to know how to effectively use both platforms. I have had a lot of fun with AAR's on sisi. |

I have also tested this on my hyperion and it is about as good as 2 T2 reps with the bonus. My hype is a dual cap injected cap stable tripple rep hyperion. 2x Large T2 reps, 1x Large AAR. I have maxed out skills btw. |

That chart looks nice and I'd love to read it, can you provide for better differentiation between the name labels? I can see what the MAAR is, but i don't understand AR 1, 2, A, and NAR? Named? So you say that using a named armour rep + MAAR is the best choice of T2 MAR + MAAR? |

NAR = Non Auto Reload AR = Auto Reload
AR1 = T1 rep AR2 = T2 rep ARA = A-type rep
so a NAR-MAAR is a Non Auto Reload Medium Ancillary Armor Repairer |
