The realy cool thing is that the grafic on chribbas phone is awesome ... next time i drop by i will pvp on his cellphone..just have to conect a nostromo ...

Yup, it is awesome!
I use the client from www.desktopmobiles.com and it works like a charm on my Sony Ericsson. Don't get that sharp graphics in EVE though (but enough).
You must use another service I guess.

Nice... can you actually read the text though? Cos I maybe going abroad for some months soon and would love to be able to change my skills whilst I'm away, and a laptops out of the question.........probably

You can read it fine if you zoom in on the place you want to view eg here
Viewing it all the pixels are too big to read the small text.

Ive actually PVP'ed once from my cellphone, its QTek 2020i (www.qtek.se) so i just launched remote desktop over GPR's and undocked.
Needless to say 10seconds later i was in a pod. :D I'll see if i can find the concord mail to post later, should be on www.killboard.net tho. :D

Software can be downloaded from www.desktopmobiles.com/ should work on most phones that has a display and support for java and wap/gprs/etc.

Just to let any reluctant people know... THIS IS FOR REAL It has been done and it can be done. Here is what you need...
1. GSM Phone that can both use GPRS (internet over phone) and J2Me (mobile java)
2. Get the remote desktop program from this site
So as thought of, you need your desktop to run EVE for it to be used.

Yep have to agree, got this working on UK Vodafone network using a Sony Ericsson V800i. Though I wouldn't use it for much more than changing skills and having "save password" enabled on Eve Client would definitely help.

Just bought a new phone for this very purpose ;) I just hope it's compatible: It's a Sony Ericsson 750i. Oh well, if it doesn't work I'll still have a brand new *phone*.

looks like it could work although that program isnt the best for my p910 as it only uses's half the screen and the stylus isnt supported :'(

Does it really run without an FPS of 1/20? I find it hard to believe that a cellphone like that could run a program like eve while maintaining your sanity, but if they 'dumbed it down' so it was just a simple text browser for buying/selling on the market and changing skills I think I would buy it instantly

You can set an option to remember the password for the client Dante.
I think it's in prefs.ini, one of these lines set like this does it:
network=1
networkAdvanced=1

Now for your next trick....
Find the cheapest method of getting a mobile phone that supports J2Me with sockets (My 6610 doesn't  ).
I've still got one of those old Genie contracts from when they were around (had it 4 years now!). Costs ú10/month, 50 mins a night free unlimited text and wap (not GPRS). O2 have phoned me up numerous times trying to trick me into a new contract by upgrading, but this may finally convince me...

This must be using some sort of VNC software because i know EVE wont run over RDP (yup i'm that sad i tried it) but this would be pretty fun, could work but for now i'll just use my home PC ^^

Its remote desktop folks.
Your phone isnt running eve, its simply displaying the contents of the screen on your phone. Your computer at home will be running eve.

it comes with web access as well, although be warned, it sucks up bandwidth, which at about ú4 per mb for most mobile tarrifs (excluding bolt ons and inclusive), is really not very nice.
