As long as you don't make money with the movies, it shouldn't be touchable by law or am I wrong?
Glad I live in the EU.

Well, its hard to say. They dont like people downloading music (mp3's), so why would they like that we download the same mp3 but in a "video", essentialy making it a MUSIC VIDEO.
Oh well, I dont know.

correct
sine we pay GEMA (even buying CD writables and CD-Burners we pay) we are allowed to use music in private. That includes making hobby films I think. Since were even allowed to copy music and giving it to friends (as long as you dont hack the copy-protection) thy can hardly touch your ass here.
so basicly, hurray for europe, we can use music here legally (and tbh, no judge will care about this)

Question, has there EVER been an EVE movie with an original EVE soundtrack? Some of the new combat tunes are quiet catchy. Just my opinion and while everybody's always going wild over EVE graphics quality, let's please not forget that whereever it's rated, the EVE sounds rate pretty high, too - I assume that includes the music!

Oh and one more note: That guy who said the Vanguard video got him to buy the soundtrack: Me, too. I bet there's quite a few more. Too bad the other really GOOD stuff in that album is starting from 07:00 in the last track, now I really feel tempted to MP3 just that part cause the first 6 minutes are just about everything tossed together and THAT 7 minute bit is nowhere else.

Quote: Oh wait, just kidding. We haven't, since the site in question is fully legal. Unlike certain other countries, such as the one you're in, we have sane copyright laws here. But we also have polar bears roaming the streets and attacking people :-(.

btw I always use music form albums I have bought legaly when making vids

Also, aren't CCPs servers in London? I heard once that at least the game servers are.
static-213-115-157-54.sme.bredbandsbolaget.se = eve files so sweden :) which reminds me of the pirate bayfunny stuff.

Fear not, the RIAA does not operate in the EU, we still enjoy p2p file sharing and the such like so all is good. Some say its a hoax, if so then lets all go back to playing space ships etc. If its not, simply put a list of the songs used in the video on the end credits, this gives the people a free advert basically and also covers your arse because you have given the artist credit for their music.
Plagarism is illegal, but its not stolen or copied if you give a name
Aaaah, the joys of living in Europe...

So for those of us unlucky enough to live in the US, what does this mean for us? I here the EU people talking about how it wont matter for them to much, but not many have mentioned the US.
Regarding the EVE-Files site: we can upload our movies (with mainstream music in them) to its servers right? Just don't want to be getting anybody in trouble.
Is there anybody who can offer real legal advice about all this? Like if we give the artist credit, can we use their song? Is this RIAA thing real? If it is, do we need to worry about it? etc etc etc..
Oh yeah, I almost forgot: **** the RIAA. - RSK Killboard - |

Its retarded!!
The only thing these movies do is to benefit the artists (aswell as entertain us).
If the corporate jerks only could get this into their thick heads everything would be just fine.
I even let Leafo put our music in one of his videos just beacuse its a free comercial, hell, we mabey even sold 1 or 2 albums cus of that.

I'm fine with that, no mp3's tho since it's the infringing file itself, I have no problems with music in movies.

Most countries copyright laws only apply in the case you earn money from playing the copyrighted music in public. Such as supermarkets or dance clubs.
